    Just like your grandmother had!

I love this! It works great for quick clean up. Picks up the hair from both my husky and my chihuahua along with any debris brought in. I would not say use it for deep cleaning since there is no suction like with a vacuum but for in between or surprise someone is coming over now…it is great! Now I know why my grandmother had one!

    Poorly engineered handle

The handle of this thing might be the most poorly engineered object I have ever seen. I understand a lot of products are now designed to be packaged and shipped in a small box. So the handle is the kind that you screw together from multiple small pieces. But good grief! This product would be superior if it was shipped with a stick and some tape as a handle. They used too much paint so the screws don’t thread at all and even if they did, they’re really tiny. You’re likely not going to be able to use this handle and I don’t believe anyone who says they do. Good luck to you.Okay with tape and steak I got the vacuum working and the vacuum portion itself works very well. It pulls up a lot of dirt and I’m sufficiently happy with it. Because I read other reviews I understood that they handle would be useless so that helped temper my expectations. You could expect a great vacuum for 30 bucks with a poorly designed handle.

I like how easy it is to use and it does a great job.

I purchased this sweeper in May of 2022. And I really liked it. It picked up stray cat littler and just about everything else. Then a couple weeks ago I tried to get the brushes out to clean all the cat and human hair and threads, etc and the spring that keeps the little door closed popped out. And when I checked the other door to see how the spring might go back in it popped out too. I’ve been trying to get the springs back in and just can’t figure it out. I find that disappointing. If the springs haven’t come out I would still be using it every day.

Handle defective but great on area rugs

I’m torn:I love using this on my black area rugs. It works so well. I used to have to vacuum my black area rugs in my bedroom over and over all day because they show every spec. But now, I have this hidden behind my dresser to grab for a quick sweeps. Takes seconds. So easy and fast. It doesn’t work on the wooden floors I have throughout the rest of my apt, but I’m fine with that because it works on the area rug, which is why I got it.But . . . the handle (the top piece that screws on) does not stay on. It comes off every time I use it as if the screw grooves that connect the pieces are stripped. I just tried to Crazy Glue it on bc I don’t have a big box nor the time to go through all the inconvenience of returning it.

    Best on floors

It works fairly well on floors however, I have a rug that has high and low areas. Did not work very well at all. Was a little disappointed with the pickup if small items like small piece of torn paper or dog hair. Picks up dust well.

    Great little sweeper

We are surprised how good this sweeper works on both vinyl plank and rug floors. I gave it 4 stars because the hand grip is not threaded so it can’t be screwed to the handle. Bissell sent a replacement but it had the same problem. No threads to screw to/with. I was told to take it to a repair store but the closest one they recommended is 18 miles from my house. I ended up glueing the hand grip to the handle. If that don’t work I will tape it like a hockey stick. Bissell chat support offered all they could. They really tried to solve my problem. Kudos to them.

Flimsy, Not Nearly as Good as Older Bissell Models

This manual sweeper picks up pet hair, dry kibble and all such things quickly on hard floors or extremely low pile when you need a quick sweep but can’t or don’t want to drag out your vacuum. It doesn’t do much for carpet with pile. After all, it’s not a vacuum. Good for quick superficial uses between vacuumings. Easy to use and clean. The brush roller isn’t as good as older models, but for $30, it’s a convenient item for your cleaning arsenal. Easy to assemble (no real instructions, but no tools needed). Only real gripe is the handle is a bear to put onto the top of the rod and tends to come off. Be prepared to use all your sttength to put it on and get it to stay. Not a deal-breaker, though. Much more preferable to the higher-priced model made by another long-time well-known company.Added in after using item 2-3 times: Changed my mind about this manual sweeper. I’ve had several in my life, as have family and friends, and the quality has diminished significantly. Near impossible to put the handle together, then it falls apart everytime I’ve tried to use it. Flimsier than a child’s toy. Sure not going to use duct tape to hold it together, even for its low price of $30. Sad that quality control has gone downhill. These little manual sweepers used to offer a good, fast way to sweep up between vacuumings. No more. Not this one. Highly disappointed in the product and Bissell company. Too much trouble to return. Just money wasted.

    Handle is a issue

I read the reviews about the handle issue. The moving back and forth causes the handle to loosen at the point of connections. The top portion is the worse. After a month of use the threads weaken and now will not hold together. i tried using “Gorilla Tape” on the top handle part. It worked but when hanging it the tape loosened from the weight. I have no room and must hang all mops, etc. I will use E6000 and the tape and that should do the trick. I will do what I can to make it useable since I like it’s quick pickup ability.

    Carpet sweeper

Love these little sweepers. I have owned several of these. They clean pine needles and pet hair off of my low carpeted throw rugs. I gave it 4 stars instead of the 5 because i had to put tape around the middle handle section to keep it together.

    Does the Job

I had a sweeper like this many years ago and loved it. After one of our dogs suffered a back injury and can’t be disturbed while she recovers, I bought this to sweep around her bed area because she is terrified of the vacuum. It picks up about 95% of dirt/crud/spilled kibble and dog hair on the rug around her bed and the hard floor. It also does a pretty good job on quick clean up on the carpet in other areas of the house. BUT the tooling on the screw ridges on the handle made putting the sweeper together a bit frustrating. Three pieces went together fine but one, no matter how hard we tried, just wouldn’t screw together. There was just enough of poor workmanship to make it impossible to finish that segment of handle completely, leaving about 1/2” gap. It didn’t effect using the sweeper since I’m tall and the handle is short. It just is a bit annoying that quality control on pieces like the handle is non-existance. One final thing, we buy Bissell when possible because of the support for shelter pets and, for the most part, the product works well.

    Way better than I expected!

We have a dachshund that constantly pulls Stuffing and foam out of toys and pillows. It’s not the type of thing you can vacuum up without eventually clogging the vacuum and even if it wasn’t it would be a pain in the butt to use a vacuum constantly. I used to get down on my hands and knees and pick up the big pieces, then vaccines but our vacuum finally got clogged. It’s been a week and it was starting to look like it snowed in our bedroom. I didn’t expect much but maybe a little help however this carpet sweeper picked up about 95% of the debris on our carpet! I wish I had bought one a long time ago and I definitely recommend this product!

    The handle 🤬

The sweeper part is great. I got it for cleaning up after my pet bunnies. Even though I have high pile carpet where they roam, the sweeper does a great job of picking up bits of hay and the stray bunny. cocoa puff. But! The handle makes me rage! I have never had an issue threading a handle before. After many, many attempts, I finally gave up and literally duct taped the handle together. I guess I tried to many times and I screwed the threads up and the sections would pop off.The Kentucky chrome is working nicely. 3 stars for cleaning but 2 stars lost for the stupid handle.

    Good for quick clean ups

I’ve used floor sweepers for years. They are easy to use and quick at cleaning up dry messes. I was surprised at how well this one picked up pet hair from the carpet. Better floor sweeper than my old one.

    Works good

Seems to work great. Only thing I had to do was use a wire brush to take some paint off the male and female threads. I also used some WD40 also. Other then that seems like a great product. So much lighter then my big vacume. Would have given 5 stars but the handle was aggravating until figured it out. Product works so….

    Easy to assemble

This floor sweeper picked up all of the hair on our carpet. One of my daughters got fuzzy socks, for Christmas, which were leaving little fuzzies all over the floor and this sweeper did not get those up, I guess they were too small or light.I tried using the sweeper on my hard floor but it was only picking up the bigger stuff there too.I’m not going to say I regret the purchase because the floor absolutely did look better afterwards than it did before and I love being able to just roll this bad boy around without having to plug in a cord or hear that loud classic vacuum noise but I will say that this tool does not replace the need for a vacuum. Also, the handle won’t stay on so I’m going to have to super glue it, which is fine.

I love this carpet sweeper. It works great in my classroom. I teach kindergarten and the kids get pretty messy at times. Its nice to have this to do quick clean up right after snack. It is very effective and picks up itty bitty crumbs and dirt from muddy shoes.

Head to Head review. Bissell VS Fuller Brush sweeper

The media could not be loaded.

I started out buying the Fuller brush sweeper and loved it so much (read: no technology) I thought I’d get another. One for upstairs and one for downstairs. That may sound lazy but it’s all about convenience sometimes. I decided to go with a cheaper model the second time around so I opted for the Bissell floor sweeper. The Bissell has a much larger head and slightly longer handle. You can see the diff in the pics and mesmerizing video, which is a side by side comparison. I have no idea why I took it this far but I was genuinely curious if there was a diff between the $60 sweeper (Smaller overall. Kitschy colors) and the $20-30 brand ( Larger. Not quite as tight brushes) and the whole process highly entertained my husband. I think him watching me spill rice, oatmeal and flower onto my rug was well worth the effort. They weigh the same – between 2&3 lbs. I find the Fuller brush model to be a little bit more resistant when sweeping but I also think it picks up smaller particles faster as can be seen in the video. The Bissell model is easier to push and rolls better but it takes a few more sweeps to achieve the same level of cleanliness. None of these sweepers are meant to replace a traditional electric vacuum. For me it’s all about picking up the crumbs and the dog hair in between the regular vacuuming. Because they both can lie almost completely flat, it’s great for getting under furniture too. Just don’t ask too much of either model. They aren’t going to pick up huge pieces of debris or be equal to an electric vacuum cleaner. I truly like both models. I use the Fuller sweeper on really small stuff like powder. Both models have TWO reservoirs for dirt but the Bissell has springs so don’t stay open on their own. It can be a tad tricky to clean them. The Fuller brush reservoirs stay open so I can clean them easier. I wish it was larger with a longer handle like the Bissell. I do feel like the Fuller model picks up more overall but dollar for dollar, the Bissell works just fine. Any questions I can answer? I’ll do my best. Thanks for reading my review. Cheers!

    Cleans up hay!!

If you have a rabbit, this is the vacuum for you! It picks up hay that would clog up my regular vacuum and it is quiet, so it doesn’t stress my bunnies out when I use it! It’s also safe to use around them since it is manually operated. It’s been a lifesaver!

    Handle Broke : (

I didn’t get to use this item for over a day because the handle broke. I was SO excited to get it because our homestead is semi-off grid, so we don’t use electricity (like for a vacuum cleaner). The handle broke and made it extremely difficult to use, so I was disappointed. The handle, itself, is weak and not as strong or sturdy as they used to be. For the price that we paid, this item, unfortunately, is not worth it. It just wasn’t sturdy enough. Sorry.

    Works like a dream!

Picks up everything, including the incredibly annoying little bits of styrofoam from other packages! I haven’t used a carpet sweeper in a lot of years, but a vacuum cleaner seemed excessive for one low pile chair mat, so I thought I’d give Bissell a try. I am delighted I did. I picks up everything from dust to styrofoam bit to every thing in between. Always ready to use, easy to use, easy to empty. A winner!

Quick and easy cleaning for my office; minimal storage space.

Works well. Quick and easy for my office. Stores easily, as the base tips on end to fit neatly between a desk and the wall. Only thing, it would be nice if the handle sections were clearly labeled, as they have to be put together in a particular order, or they don’t thread together. I don’t have animals at my office, and the carpet is a basic industrial/office carpet, but if something is hard to pick up, just zoom it across faster. Your speed dictates the brush speed.

    Works Great

I read a lot of reviews and even though people said they had problems with the handle either putting it on or staying on I purchased this knowing I have plumbers tape if need be. My son put it together with no problems and so far the handle has stayed on and together. I don’t have hardwood floors so I can’t say how it works so I only have that one star. For carpets it works that’s what I bought it for to clean up crumbs ect.

    Brilliant

My house is covered with saltillo tile with an assortment of old, Oriental rugs. Those rugs cannot be handled roughly – they’ll be damaged. This little carpet sweeper is EXACTLY what was wanted, here in the Land o’ Dust and Doggie hair. It scoops up everything, even tho it may take several passes. Anything left behind can be dealt with by a Harper horsehair broom. As to screwing together the various bits of the shaft – take your time, make sure each is exactly parallel to the next and don’t try to force anything. It turns out great. Just a brilliant purchase. The only weird thing? Included in the package was a sheath of invoices from United Healthcare addressed to a dentist in Aurora, CO. I am not a dentist in Aurora, CO. I’ve sent them on to the office. Weird. Very, very weird.

    Love this carpet sweeper

I have large area rugs and wood floors. I don’t want to bring out my large electric vacuum every time I want to sweep my area rugs so this manual carpet sweeper has been a dream. It is light weight and really does pick up the little messes on the area rugs as well as the wood floors.

    Terrific sweeper with terrible handle

I have such mixed feelings about this sweeper! The mechanism itself is great. It picks up dirt and even hair better than any of my previous sweepers. However, the handle is terrible. When I first saw the bad reviews of the handle, I figured it shouldn’t be a big problem to twist the pieces back together every now and then. However, I have to tighten the sections several times every time I use it. Then, after less than a year of moderate use, one of the sections simply came apart because the screw was stripped. My husband had to drill through the metal and put in a permanent screw to keep it together. If Bissel can afford to make such a nice sweeper, can’t it afford to attach a reasonably functioning handle?

    Not for Older people

The pet hair was always caught in the brushes and always had to stop and clear it away. It picked up the pet litter a little better, but was hard to empty once I stopped. Ended up dumping on the floor again. This is not made for older people. I was disappointed. We had a hokie when we were much younger and loved it. I thought this would be just as good if not better. I wish that I had not bought it, but too late now. I now just mainly use it to pick up litter by the litter boxes. I learned my lesson the hard way. My vacuum cleaner is now being used again.

    Helps me quite a bit.

I have 6 animals, 3 cats (one long haired) and 3 small dogs. The hair from them gets ridiculous. I’m partially disabled so lugging out the big vacuum is very difficult for me to do everyday. I’ve tried those stick vacuums and they just don’t cut it. I’m emptying the canister before I’ve done 2 square feet. This is lightweight, pushes around with ease and I don’t have to empty it as often. Cleaning the brushes is a different story but it’s not too terrible.I would have given it 5 stars but the issue with the handle grip is as others have said. It doesn’t stay screwed on. One more reason is it really hasn’t worked on my hard surface areas of the floor but that’s fine. A good broom and dustpan works. If you’re looking for something that will pull up the deeper dirt this is not it. It’s great for touch ups between pulling vacuums. It definitely beats stooping over and picking up clumps of animal hair constantly.

My grandmother says her vacuum cleaner is to hard to push. The suction is to strong. So, I found this. This is what she was looking for. It’s perfect for a 90 year old lady, she says.

    I love my sweeper!

Ya’ know sometimes you just need a carpet sweeper, no need to lug out the vacuum. These sweepers have been around forever for a reason: they work! I live in the beach and have Saltillo tile floors, this light weight sweeper is perfect for my world. ☮️

    Bosses products are gteat

We are very, very happy with this none powered sweeper for fast quick small issues. I gave it 4 stars only because the pole part which comes in 3 parts was very, very difficult to connect to each other, we almost returned it but fiddled and eventually assembled it.

Great sweeper for a large area run

The rug manufacturer highly recommended not using a vaccuum cleaner on a new area rug we purchased. This sweeper looked like a good quality product for a reasonable price. Cleaning is sometimes a little difficult.

Don’t cross thread the handle parts

IMPORTANT:Use a wire brush and acetone to remove paint on the threads on the handle parts. This makes assembly a snap.Otherwise, prepare yourself for frustration.Once assembled it works great. *****

Great value, great job & great customer service!!

So I am a review junkie. I read reviews of 1-5 stars on every product before I order something. After reading the reviews for this I was prepared for some possible handle issues, hair getting caught in the roller, etc. I read other people’s fails and knew to be easy with it or it’ll unthread itself (handle wise) and that it can break if I use it with too much gusto. Knowing this, I threaded it super easily. I gently placed the poles together and twisted slow, paying attention to wether or not it was going on evenly or cross threading, etc. It was super easy, until I got to the top pole. It wouldn’t go on. I checked and the inner threads of the top pole had a lip running through them vertically, making it impossible to attach. I attached a picture for reference. Then the handle wouldn’t screw on like the instructions say to do, it just pushes on and comes right back off. I looked inside and the only ‘threads’ are vertical? So it wouldn’t attach. I used the short handle and gave the contraption a whirl, might as well test the base out before I call customer service right? And it was a dream. Sure I had to go over each spot like 3 times each, but I do that anyways with a vacuum because I have a Great Pyrenees doggie that leaves miniature Pyrenees fluff balls all over the floor. It picked up all of his hair, the tiny bits of paper my cats shredded and some plastic that my kitten stole from my counter. Of course, the roller was covered in dog hair, all of my vacuum rollers get covered with dog hair. Comes with the territory. When they invent a vacuum roller that doesn’t hold dog hair for ransom I’ll be the first in line. It has 2 dust bin drawers, hold it open and dump it out. I had to use my fingers to pull the hair out but that’s fine too, I have to do that with a bag free vacuum to get hair off the filter and whatnot. This thing is fantabulous, sure I had to get my hands dirty but i enjoy washing my hands so that’s fine. I didn’t have to fight with the hair on the carpet or flip over my current vacuum, a 2 million pound Kirby, to clean out that roller brush so I saved some time and energy and my floor could pass for clean, so heck yes!! I can’t complain. I called the Bissell customer service line through the link on Amazon, and explained the issues with the handle and top pole, she talked and did some troubleshooting with me & is now sending me a new pole and handle for my sweeper. Even with the defects I give this 5 stars for it’s effectiveness, ease of use, and customer service solving my problem. Don’t buy this if you expect to breeze through with 1 roll and it to clean itself for you. This is great for anyone needing a quick fix for pet hair, tiny bits of rubbish and not having to haul out the heavy machinery.

Careful assembly is needed, but decent product

The media could not be loaded.

I selected this sweeper after reading several articles on so-called “best carpet sweepers”. Most articles rated this sweeper and the Fuller brush sweeper as best in the category. I chose this one because it was a better buy. I found that you have to be patient and careful with the assembly of this product. After reading several reviews about stripping the screw ends, I went very slowly and carefully putting the handle together. I used WD-40 silicone lubricant spray to get the handle pieces to fit together more easily. There seemed to be some rough burrs on the ends so it took a bit of patience to fit the pieces together correctly, and then screw it in. The hardest part was the handle. I couldn’t seem to get it screwed in, and it kept slipping off. Then I pressed down carefully on it, and it finally started to screw into position, I tightened it only enough to avoid stripping the screw part. It was a bit frustrating to assemble the whole thing, but I’m glad I was able to get it together correctly. I had purchased this to pick up dryer lint and the feathers from birds my cats brought in to the back porch on the indoor-outdoor rug. It was a mess to use a broom to sweep up this debris, which scattered dust, and I didn’t want to drag out the vacuum. It worked good enough. I think you have to keep a light touch and not press down hard on the rather flimsy handle. I had to go back-and-forth a few times to pick up the downy feathers and pieces of lint from the clothes dryer. It did a decent job. I went through the house on my medium pile carpet, where it was quite good on picking up small pieces of paper, more feathers, and light debris. I was surprised it was able to pick up spilled coffee grounds on the kitchen laminate as well as other misc. And I was also surprised when I emptied it how much fine dirt it had picked up off the carpet. You have to be sure to hold the carpet sweeper over your open trashcan to empty both sides to prevent spillage on your floor. I like that the carpet sweeper can stand upright and not tip over and folds up very slim to lean against the wall. The bottom is not very large in width. It needs to run over back-and-forth gently with. short strokes so as not to break the handle. I was pushing down on the middle of the handle while sweeping and then found that I could pick up debris just as well by holding the handle at the top. With careful handling, I think this carpet sweeper will last for quite a while. It will not replace your vacuum for deep cleaning. I think it is designed more for daily, light pick-up for things you don’t want to drag out the vacuum. I plan to get a command adhesive broom gripper to hang this sweeper on the wall behind my kitchen trashcan for convenience…. or maybe just fold it up to lean against the wall. Overall, I am very satisfied with this sweeper. I gave it four stars for the flimsiness of the handle and the difficulty to screw it together. P.S. I found the bristles can be cleaned very easily by brushing vertically down both rows of bristles with an old hairbrush.

Not a vacuum cleaner but I love it

This is just perfect for quick frequent cleaning. It doesn’t clean as deeply as a vacuum but it sure does a great job on in between. I like my floors to look clean all the time and this is perfect for that job. It picks up all but the deep dust but doesn’t do too well on thick pile carpets. It’s great to do whole house or just bring it out to get rid crumbs or little messes. Some people had trouble with the handle and I did also while trying to assemble it. Found out you have to push the pieces together to get them started. I did and my handle has stayed fine.Pros: It’s light to operate, does a great job, has no cord and is not expensive to buy. Cleans as good or maybe better than a cordless Shark stick vac I bought.

Nice cleaning augment & Bissel replaced the sweeper when a part broke

Bought for quick clean ups in between vacuuming. Very lightweight and fits in a small closet when not in use. No need for pulling out the heavy vacuum and plugging it into an electric outlet when you want to do a quick clean and use on all floor types. Picks up dust/hair on hardwood floors. Works nicely on area rugs that are pulled up by the suction of a vacuum. The dust bin on the sweeper broke for me. I called Bissel and explained to the representative the issue. With my verification of my recent purchase (from Amazon), Bissel is replacing it. I truly appreciate Bissel service!

    Worth it

Saves so much time instead of sweeping the carpet which takes soooo much time I usually use this in between vacuum washes. Very quick easy and efficient. Takes no time to set up 10/10. Also surprisingly worked on wood and tile.

    Great buy

I purchased this to use primarily on my hand tufted rug that cannot be vacuumed. It cleans beautifully. Also use it on my LVP floors instead of a broom. Rolls and cleans bathroom and kitchen floors and does a great job picking up the kitty litter that gets tracked. So much easier than pulling out the vacuum for a quick clean up. Easy to clean out when done.

Works great, online reviews were right on!

Well, I will leave this review short and sweet, the Bissell Natural Sweep Carpet and Floor Sweeper works phenomenally well, in fact, far better then I expected. It is able to get dust and dirt out of carpers I didn’t know was hiding there. We also have 3 pets, 2 cats, and a dog, and even though you could not see the fur on the floor, this thing ate it up and I dumped out more stuff then I thought could have even been on the floor. Now, I have not owned one of these before, so I do have 2 complaints, and one of them may be inherent to this type of sweeper, and I just have nothing to compare it with, while the other one, is a terrible craftsmanship. However, that said, neither of these issues would stop me from recommending this, nor from buying another one down the road if I wear this one out.Problem 1: After using the sweeper, and you need to empty the trays, do not make the mistake I did and let the head go vertical. Due to the way the holding traps are designed, there is nothing keeping the dirt from falling out of the traps when in any position but horizontal. This is because the traps are really nothing more then spring loaded doors that keep them closed, but there is no seal or anything around them, so once there is dirt in them, there is nothing trapping it in the holding pan, and if you tilt the head before you reach the trash can, all the dirt and dust can come right out. Perhaps I will just chuck this up to a learning experience. Though I do think they could put a seal around the sides, and place a small lip at the front where the dirt goes up into the tray, that would at least keep some of the dirt from coming out.Problem 2: The handle is very thin steel tube, that comes in I believe 4 or 5 sections that you have to screw the sections together, one side is threaded on the outer side, and the other end is threaded on the inner side. You then screw one section into the next. The problem I ran into was that one of the sections, on the side that had the threads on the inner side was just a tiny bit too wide, so when you screwed the two sections together, they would not make a tight fit with one another. In fact, if you tightened them all the way up, you could keep trying to tighten them and they would never stop, all you would have to do it give the two sections a little wiggle and they would come right apart from each other. Now one might say, well you should have returned it. Yeah, I could have done that, but then I would have to wait for another one to get delivered, box this one back up and take it to the shipper to send it back. Instead, I had some JB Weld Instant Epoxy, and I just put some epoxy on the threaded end, and some on the inner threads, and threaded the two pieces back together. Waited about 10 minutes, and you could not get these two sections of the handle apart if you wanted to. Problem solved. So while I do think that this was a manufacturing flaw, I don’t consider it anything worth returning it for, but these 2 problems are the reasons for me not giving this a 5 star rating. It definitely deserves a 5 start rating for how well it cleans though. Conclusion: Aside from the 2 minor problems I mentioned, the Bissell Natural Sweep Carpet and Floor Sweeper works really really well and far beyond my exportations. The reviews I read on multiple sites seemed to definitely be correct, they all said that this sweeper earned a 9.5 out of 10, with the next closest coming in at an 8. So that is what drove me to purchase it in the first place. I am sure that my problem number 1 is inherent in all of these type sweepers since they all pretty much look identical. Even with problem number 2, I don’t think that this is an inherent problem, and that I just happen to get a bad section of tube, which really is not a big deal My epoxy fix cost me no time or money to do, and the handle is now stronger then it was.I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a sweeper like this, and the bonus is, for everyone of the vacuums / sweeps that are purchased from Bissell they make a donation to an animal shelter. Who can say no to that? Hope this review helps someone!

    Great sweeper – terrible handle

Just like so many of the reviewers have said, the handle does not go together easily or well! I did what one reviewer suggested and I filed the male ends to give them a slight taper, and that helped a lot. But, even after getting them assembled and tight, I have one section that has come apart because the threads aren’t holding. I am going to have to go to the hardware and see if I can come up with a handle of my own. Even after having this trouble with the handle I got to say that the sweeper itself works very well! My wife has a rabbit that occupies a spare bedroom, and she can easily clean up the room without scaring the animal. It is doing a good job not only with the “cocoa puffs” but also the hair. I just wish Bissell would fix the handle issues.

Great for spot sweeping at work

I hate hauling out the heavy old vacuums at work, so I purchased this for spot cleaning (we used something similar when I worked the salad bar at an upscale restaurant in the 1980s). Picks up dried mud, leaves, small rocks, staples, flakes of paper, hair, etc. Works on carpeting, linoleum, and hardwood floors. Doesn’t get into the edges or corners very well, but there is no suction so that’s understandable. Easy to empty and easy to pull the long hair off the beater brush. The threads on the handle got stripped under light usage so I had to pull out the duct tape to keep the handle together.

    Decent pick up on carpeting

I have had and own a lot of vacuum cleaners. I needed something easy and light to pick up litter off my carpeting (not low or high pile). The dyson does the trick but it’s a pain to keep dragging it out. I tried other sweepers and it didn’t work well on the carpeting. Surprisingly this machine did the trick. It works well on the carpeting and hard wood floor to pick up loose stuff. On the low pile carpet, it didn’t do as well. I read that the handle was a bit tricky to put together – it doesn’t feel so sturdy and it’s long for me (I’m only 5’2″ on a good day). That said, I’m happy with my purchase and would purchase it again.
