This definitely works on children and adults

I bought this product upon getting a recommendation from a pediatric dermatologist and it lives up to the hype. The child I used it on has very pale skin and did not get sunburned at all despite being in the sun a couple of hours with only one application. It is waterproof it seems although with ocean water I would definitely reapply every 90 minutes. I’ve used it on myself and it works beautifully although you can definitely see it when you put it on but I don’t mind that and it is a little difficult to wash off in the shower but if you’re wanting to not get a sunburn this product is worth it

THIS IS AUTHENTIC ELTAMD! WATCH FOR OTHERS ON AMAZON-FAKES!

The true ELTAMD PURE product is easy to put on, blends in well and blocks the sun. Only order through the ELTAMD website or through this link ONLY: AMAZONELTAMD (which is the real ELTAMD Amazon webpage) or you will end up with a fake product that doesn’t rub in, leaves your face with white kabuki makeup. Who knows if it’s even sunscreen at all? I ordered from Amazon the first time from what looked like the real ELTAMD page and it was fake product–boxes were used, labels falling off and the “sunscreen” was thick, white paste–the fake sellers give ELTAMD a bad name.

A Great sunscreen is one you’ll wear happily every day and this is it for dry skin!

I have 49 year old dry skin and Disciod Skin Lupus (an autoimune disorder that causes disfiguring red and flakey rashes on my face and ears/hairline). After 5 years of being on daily pills I decided to back that down. As DSL is photoreactive that means no UV to my body. Chemical sunscreens in the US degrade rather quickly so I’ve focused on mineral sunscreens for use under makeup. Wow. What a wreck. Even though I’m pretty fair most are a hot mess. Tinted. Untinted. Ugh. SO over them. I have 8 mineral only sunscreens in my ‘using them up’ bin. But then along came Elta MD 47. Nicely moisturizing and with some blending doesn’t leave white cast on my pale face after a few minutes. I do find it dries down to leave a white cast on my arms and settles into my elbow creases because (I think) I just dont work it enough.I actually like the Coola SPF 30 tinted sunscreen as much but at twice the price for 1/3 the product I find that it’s the Elta MD that I automatically grab and find myself wondering if it comes in a bulk size. And the sunscreen that you’ll wear is the best. Elta MD 47 is it for me.

This sunscreen seems to work fine, if you don’t mind looking like a ghostly white dead person.

As far as I can tell, this product provides the needed sun protection. The main downside is the ghostly white color it adds to your appearance. I have very fair, white skin, but this somehow makes me look even more white, in a corpse sort of way. As long as you don’t mind that, not problems here.I can’t speak to the moisturizing benefit. My skin seems to stay moist enough when I use it, so maybe that part works.

    I use it during pregnancy

I use it on my face while pregnant. It has a white cast but it works as a primer under makeup. Very smooth and easy to apply.

Good product but not for me unfortunately

Let me start by saying I really liked this sunscreen. It leaves a bit of a white cast on me and im very fair skinned, but if I really concentrated on rubbing it in I could kinda blend it enough it’s not noticeable. A lot of mineral sunscreens can be dry and powdery, this one has a very nice mildly glowy finish. But im very milia prone unfortunately and I’ve developed many since I began using this and I know it’s this because it’s the only new thing I’ve started using. It’s been very hard for me to find a mineral sunscreen that doesn’t clog my pores so while I’m unsurprised, I’m definitely disappointed. If you’re milia prone as well, use with caution and a plan to deal with any you develop.

    Our go-to

This is the best all-day sunscreen. I have acne prone skin and this does not break me out at all. I use it for myself and my kids. One application lasts all day at the beach or on the boat.

Great reef safe sunscreen from a favorite brand

I usually use a non waterproof moisturizing Elta formula, this mineral version did not disappoint while on vacation in the Bahamas. I used it on my face and body and it didn’t bother my sensitive skin and offered great sun protection.

    Meh

It’s a good sunscreen, it works and stays on really well. But be prepared to look pasty, this is NOT clear. The UV clear one by this brand is, but it’s not sweat resistant so you can’t use it by the pool. This one stayed on my skin for days… it made it look and feel so dry. And it got in the folds of your skin and pores and STAYED white for days. I even tried faxing cleansing wipes to get it off. But anyways, get this if you want to stay protected. We hiked and swam and it stayed on, you just gotta rub it in really good to avoid looking extra pasty. My husband has hair on his arms and legs and this was so painful to apply.

Light, non-greasy, moisturizer and sun protection.

I read up many positive and negative reviews before buying this product. I was looking for a light moisturizer, contains a high level of SPF, and that it would not compromise my makeup foundation. I risked and ordered it anyway. To be fair for the product maker and with a sense of integrity, I don’t understand how someone could lie by writing bad reviews for this product. I used 3 (apple seed size) drops on my face, 3 drops on my neck and chest, 2 drops in each arm at a time. I gently rub it into my skin and for the record, it does NOT leave white filming or streaks. The initial whiteness does disappear once it’s absorbed into your skin. I believe most people with negative reviews are using too large of the amount. I love how it just soaked into my skin, does not sting my eyes like other product with high SPF content. But most importantly, I love it because it is a non-greasy and sticky product. I love the smoothness on both of my arms. Great product for face, neck, and body. I highly recommend it.

    White cast is awful 🙁

I am a fairly pale asian woman, and using this sunscreen kind of made me look like a mime. It does seem very waterproof, much to my dismay, as I had an awful time un-miming myself.

Great for Avoiding Burns but Makes Your Skin Pale

I love this brand and bought this for my kids and myself. It worked extremely well to avoid sunburns but it does make your skin look pale. I use the tinted sunscreen for my face and it does not have this problem.

    A great waterproof mineral sunscreen

This is the only sunscreen I use on my face, as I have very sensitive skin. Not only does it protect me from the sun, but the texture is light, and melts in easily. There is a slight white cast initially, but it does blend in. I also use it when I swim very early in the morning. I highly recommend this product, and am so happy that Amazon carries it.

    Awesome sunscreen for sensitive skin

My favorite sunscreen is Skinceuticals Physical Fusion but the smell, which is oddly reminiscent of gasoline, sometimes bothers me. So I decided to try this one since it’s only about $20 for 4 ounces versus Skinceuticals Physical Fusion (tinted) or Sheer Physical (untinted) that are $34 for 1.7 fl. oz. It’s very similar to the Sheer Physical, maybe a tad more whitening which is probably because it has a higher amount of zinc oxide (Skinceuticals has 5% and it’s Z-Cote). The Elta is water resistant for 80 minutes, the Skinceuticals is only 40 minutes. Skinceuticals has Phenoxyethanol whereas Elta doesn’t though both are free of parabens. Skinceuticals also has a plankton extract called artemia salina which, “increases skin defenses and resistance to UV and heat stress.”I use Clinique Take the Day Off Balm to remove this, it’s pretty tenacious. My advice is to use something like the TTDO Balm or an oil cleanser to remove any sunscreen and/or makeup you wear to be sure you’re really getting it all off.Bottom line: This is a great sunscreen but nothing will take the place of my HG Skinceuticals but for the price difference it’s almost as good. If you have rosacea and/or sensitive skin, give this one a shot.

Works for me, just one gripe

After a long journey to finding a sunscreen that works for me, I think I’ll stick with this one. It doesn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts, but because it is a physical sunscreen, you’re going to get a white cast. It is also by far the best smelling sunscreen I’ve tried on my face. HOWEVER, I have a very difficult time removing it at the end of the day. Because of how sensitive my skin is, I’ve never found a makeup remover that works for me, so all of my makeup/skincare needs to be removable with just water. This is a challenge to get off with just water. And if you don’t get it all off, it will start to flake off over the next day or two; it almost looks like dry skin. When I can find a way to fully remove this, I’ll be satisfied.

Love the ingredients but white cast is too intense!

It’s a great quality sunscreen. I love Elta MD products in general, but this one just leaves a white cast which does not melt into the skin like others. If there’s a water-resistant Elta MD tinted version- it would be a much better buy IMO.

    Best sunscreen we have bought

our whole family uses this. Kids and adults. It has thick coverage and works well to prevent burning. It does leave you a little pasty white if you dont rub it in well but thats ok with us. We also buy the tinted face lotion of this same brand and it is our go to for face sunscreen. Would recommend this product as our Doctor recommended this brand to us and we are happy with it.

Not for dark skin, it leaves a white cast

If you are dark skin I wouldn’t recommend this product, I bought thinking it would not leave a white cast but my whole face and neck was white. I even massage it for a while hopping that the skin would absorb and eventually that white cast would disapear but it did not happen.I also found it very greasy. It’s a shame as to me it was a waste of money as can’t use it.

    Def water resistant

As you can see in the pics, this definitely forms a water resistant layer on your skin, and it lasts a long while. Even with rubbing it into your skin, you’ll still get a little bit of white, but it’s to be expected with a sunscreen like this. In the sun, I still got more freckles, but not burned.

Nothing beats the matte texture and light color

I’ve tried many physical sunscreens for oily skin (without alcohol) and I’ll always come back to this. The best part is probably the transparent zinc, which makes the white cast hardly noticeable (I’m a fair-skinned East Asian) when set. Texture wise, it’s not gonna be that gummy silicone paste that sucks your skin dry a la SuperGoop or Innisfree.

A nice suncreen which does leave a white cast

Very nice texture as well compared to the Elements. Does leave a white cast but not ghostly white after rubbing in but then again it will depend on individual skin tones. For darker skin tones, not gonna work I’m afraid. For outdoor it works great and it doesn’t break me out. Do double cleanse when removing it.

    Crema fluida casi no perceptible

MOST EFFECTIVE SUNSCREEN FOR FAIR SKIN

First, I don’t understand the negative reviews unless people don’t know how to apply the product. It’s a professional grade sunscreen; a small amount goes a long way. You don’t apply near your eyes/eyelids. Once it’s on it doesn’t budge. This is the very best sunscreen for those who burn extremely easily. Meaning, the lightest of light complexions. Think ‘porcelain fair’ it doesn’t break you out, but can have a slight whitish cast upon application which dissipates quickly. It’s a true skin saver when you are prone to burning. This is the first time I’ve ever purchased a sunscreen at full price; as an esthetician I’m willing to pay full price; it’s that good

A sun cream that didn’t cause an allergic reaction.

The seller was very helpful and very quickly paid the import duty I was charged. I am very allergic to a lot of sun creams but this one was great, no allergic reaction. I am also allergic to the sun, and this sun cream worked. I was able to be outside in the sun completely protected from harmful rays. Excellent product. Thank you, I will be buying it again next summer.

Goes on really well, no white cast left. Didn’t leave us feeling oily, greasy, or smelly after using product. The family used it for our beach vaca and no one got sunburnt the whole trip. Not for all skin types

We’ve been using Elta md on our fairest child for years. I previously used the adult face version. This year I bought this. It works great on our fairest child. Our other kids are not as fair but were out in the sun for 12 hour days so I put this on their cheeks and noses for a few days. BOTH ended up with dry, peeling, irritated and swollen skin. One of them had cracks and breaks that were bleeding that made them cry. I tried it one more time to make sure it was this and the same thing happened (less so because I used it for only one application). We make sure to wash their faces super well after using now because it is hard to get off. I never had this issue with the adult version. I’ll be switching back after this is gone. It works fine on body skin. I don’t think it should be labeled for faces.

Only sunscreen I’ve found that doesn’t burn my eyes

I had a freckle on my lower eyelid that my ophthalmologist wanted to biopsy. Luckily, it wasn’t skin cancer, but he reminded me how important it is to put sunscreen on eyelids as well as the face.Of course, I know this, but finding a sunscreen that did not burn my eyes seemed impossible. I even watched YouTube videos put out by dermatologists and tried their recommendations, but after a few days of burning eyes and headaches, I gave up.The downside of this sunscreen, however, is that is has a super white cast. It makes me look like Casper, the friendly ghost. So, I use this around my eyes. (Careful, a little goes a long way, and it comes out fast.) Then I use another moisturizing sunscreen that has less of a white cast on the rest of my face.It sounds like a hassle, but not having a headache from stinging eyes makes it worth it.I LOVE this sunscreen!(PS My sister says Arbonne kid’s sunscreen also does not burn the eyes, but I don’t like to buy from MLMs. But I’ll put it out there.)

    All in one kinda deal

Living in sunny Florida, sunscreen is a must. I was looking around for a good sunscreen and this name brand pop up quite often and is recommended by a lot of people. I was very hesitant due to the price, but I jumped when I saw this as a lightning deal. Figured it’s the best time to try it out.First, I have acne-prone skin that gets oily often and the mineral in this sunscreen definitely offset that shiny face. I didn’t have any breakout using this product, so that was a plus already. I was worried about having a white cast, but so far I’ve never had that issue. I also liked that I could put this on my face and arms, so I wouldn’t have to buy two separate bottles, but the downside is that I have to replace this every 3 months.

    Pricey but highly recommended

Rubs in easily and quickly without leaving white residue on white skin. Not only does my son not have an allergic reaction to this sunscreen but he also doesn’t complain about me putting it on and rubbing it in because it’s so quick it goes on and absorbs like a good quality lotion and he hasn’t gotten a sunburn since we’ve used it so I’m willing to pay the price.

    Good for certain skin types

I have been using this sunscreen for a while now, I live in Florida and use it when I play outdoor sports. It leaves behind an intense white cast and it is a little drying on my skin. It’s a good sunscreen but if you are prone to dry skin then maybe use one with more of a water base. Also if you live somewhere super hot and humid and sweat a lot, maybe not the best with the white cast.

Works well, but would not repurchase due to white cast

This sunscreen was recommended by Dr. Dray on youtube. I bought this for use only on my face. (I prefer mineral sunscreen for my face because I sweat and chemical sunscreens get in my eyes and it stings.)PROSThis sunscreen works well. It is both rub proof and sweat proof as claimed and seems to do a good job of protecting my skin. (My complexion is fair to medium and tans easily. I go for daily long walks and this seems to prevent me from getting any color.) I have normal skin – neither dry nor oily, and I have not experienced any breakouts or other skin problems. It’s a little more moisturizing than most sunscreens, but wouldn’t replace moisturizer for those with dry skin. There is no noticeable fragrance.CONSDespite the “transparent zinc oxide” label, the white cast is INTENSE. It makes my skin glow a ghostly white in all lighting situations, and after exercising, it is even worse. (I assume that’s because the sunscreen is coming up out of my pores with the sweat.) I mainly bought this because my regular tinted Australian Gold sunscreen was dirtying my mask and I wanted something non-tinted and lightly moisturizing. I’ll finish off the bottle because this does the job and half my face is covered with the mask anyway. However, I won’t buy this again. If we’re still wearing masks by the time I use this up, I’ll have to find another option that doesn’t make me glow in the dark. This product is probably fine for kids and for the body, but for me, it’s too expensive to use as an every day body sunscreen. I prefer less expensive chemical sunblock for that.

    Great for sensitive skin

I have fair skin and always had issues with the sun. For many years I used the popular brands which didn’t help much. I see a dermatologist regularly for skin damage and he recommended this brand. It is great!! Using it correctly I have not had a sunburn. It absorbs well, feels good and lasts!

    Finally No White Cast!

So far so good with this mineral sunscreen!I have have a photo-allergy with most chemical sunscreen ingredients, meaning once I step out into the sun, I develop a rash. The only sunscreen ingredients I can use without a reaction are Zinc and Titanium Dioxide. I have spend hundreds of dollars trying out different mineral sunscreen formulations, and have mostly been disappointed. I’ve never been burnt by one, but they ALL either are too hard to rub in, and/or leave a white/purple cast.Until this sunscreen, I had been using Juice Beauty Sport, which I appreciate the high % of Zinc in, but was always too greasy and left just a bit too much white cast. So far I am very happy with this formula, its scent-free, not too greasy, mineral-only, and does not leave a white cast when you rub it in! The price is also great, considering most mineral sunscreens tend to be even more expensive than this one. Im glad it has a good EWG rating, and is on the recommended list, but I do wish it was zinc only rather than a combo with Titanium Dioxide. That is my only complaint, otherwise I’m happy!**For reference, I have light olive-toned skin, so I am not sure how this would do on darker skin tones, but it doesn’t seem to leave any sort of even subtle tint on my skin.
