You’ll never use a gas mower again!

SO GLAD someone invented this electric mower! It was easy to assemble and use!No belt to pull – no smelly gas to fill it with. It can mulch, side shoot or gather grass in bag. Best of all the battery recharges and it folds up for storage. Bought an extra battery – just in case bc we have alot of lawn to mow.

First battery mower – exceeded my expetations

Have used my new EGO mower twice. Easy assembly and fast charging are favorables. The mower is a bit heavy for a cordless electric, but its power and excellent self-propel feature make up for that. It maneuvers easily in spite of its weight. Is very solidly constructed, with easy mowing height changes. The model I (LM2102SP-A) got came with two 4 amp-hour batteries – managed to mow the first time on only one, and I have a fairly large yard. My only disappointment was low pickup of leaves. I purchased and installed the high-lift blade and that fixed that issue. It did run the battery down faster – had to use about 20% of the second one. That is not a problem – It will got the yard done with power to spare. It mower very well – my yard looks like a green carpet now. So far – VERY happy!

    The jury is still out

I’ve been wanting to switch to a battery powered mower for some time. After doing a large amount of research I was reluctant to switch from gas powered due to a large amount of reported issues with power, handling, and batteries. I also have a battery powered EGO string trimmer which is now going on its 3rd battery. The EGO 21″ self propelled mower went on sale so I decided that if I was going to try it now would be the time! When it arrived it took me all of about 5 minutes to get it ready to run and it comes with two batteries. It is very maneuverable and quiet. The cut is decent but it doesn’t mulch like I had hoped. I’ll purchase a mulching blade next year. I live on a 1/4 acre lot and can easily cut the lawn using one battery and BONUS the batteries fit my string trimmer. I can do all my trimming and mow the lawn most of the time using one battery. The batteries charge very quickly. Up till now I’m pretty happy I made the switch but will know more once I get the mulching blade and see how long the batteries last!

    EGO self propelled mower

Love this thing. I replaced my 10 yr old Craftsman 21″ mower after the self propelled system stopped working despite adjusting it. Bought this instead. Love it! It is light and easy to make turns. I almost have to chase it up the hills. So much quieter. Can now mow the lawn in the morning and not worry about waking the neighbors up. Battery life is good and speed of charging is amazing. Definitely get two batteries however. If you need to switch out the first one, it will be recharged by the time you use up the second one. So you could potentially keep rotating them. My lawn is about a 1/3 of an acre and takes 1 1/2 batteries worth of charge to finish it. Only caveat is the rear discharge chute is too narrow. If you are really plowing through tall grass or it is wet, it will clog. Haven’t tried bagging yet nor using the mulcher insert yet. Would definitely consider this purchase however if you are thinking about getting an electric mower.

Works well right out of the box.

After returning another electric mower that didn’t work, we ordered the more expensive EGO. Well, you get what you pay for. The ego mower required no assembly and worked as soon as a charged battery was installed. Completely satisfied.

Quick and easy assembly, the battery life is good. The mower has plenty of power for the thick grass. Love the fold up ability for storage in garage

    Best Mower Ever

I love this mower. Great design, cuts the grass as well or better than any other mower I’ve ever used, and it doesn’t make a lot of noise or emit smelly smoke. Beautifully designed and engineered. Simple wheel height adjustment. Use the power wheel drive when you need it, but the battery lasts longer the more you push it. One of the best features is that it comes with 2 batteries and a charger. When one battery runs out, I stick it in the charger and switch to the other battery. By the time the 2nd battery has run out, the first battery is recharged and ready to go again. Terrific product.

    Impressive

I finally used this today. If I could give it 20 stars I would. I haven’t mowed in 12 yrs and had to start up again and was dredging it. Once I started this and used the self propelled, I was so happy!! You don’t work, the mower does. All you have to do is walk behind it. It’s actually not that loud at all. Shutting down and starting up, which I did often and it was so easy. I would buy again, 10 times over. Very impressive.

    Best Lawnmower I ever bought!

I always use a push mower. I do the trimming small areas easier than with a tractor. I also never ride a tractor type mower. Its like a walking exercise. The tractor, my husband uses, broke down and he had to use my old push mower for the whole yard. Lol..he decided I needed a self-perpelled mower to make my job easier. I still get the exercise and love this mower. The batteries are fast charging so by the time one needs charging the next is ready. Comes with a grass catcher. The speed the mower perpells is controllable. I recommend this mower if you need a fast self-perpelling battery operated lawn mower.

    Powerful, effective, easy to use

First bagged mowing of zoysia grass on 3-inch height setting today. Read instructions and except for a few adjustments to height and speed no problems. Battery still had 25% left but had the second one to finish back yard. Very pleased with delivery, instructions and the mower.

    This ego mower works well

This ego lawnmower came with two batteries and a 30min rapid charger.I’ve had this mower for about a month and I think it is great.Amazon shipped in the ego box and the mower and parts were securely packaged.. I have the mower set from mulch, but I could have bagged or side discharged as well. The mower cuts great whether I’m hand pushing or self propelled.. The only complaint I could have is that the batteries could last longer, but I can switch batteries and charge the drained one.

    Great Mower

The instructions were clear, and it was easy to assemble the unit. After using the mower several times, we can report it cuts the grass as well as a gas engine mower, but with considerably less noise and with it’s less weight, it is easier manage around obstacles.

Folds up and takes very small space to store.

I tried my neighbors mower, liked it very much ,that I bought one like it. I bought the EGO that came with two 56 volt 4.0 amp batteries. I chose the smaller batteries as my lot is a 1/4 acre, I can get it done withone if I do not use the self propelled too much.

    Ease of changing from self-propelled-to-push

This is my second purchase of an EGO lawn mower. My first EGO lawn mower was a 20 inch push mower and used for eight seasons on a 6500 square feet of lawn. The new mower is a 21 inch self-propelled mower and has met my expectations in all categories. I particularly like the ease of changing from self-propelled-to-push.

    Get It!

This mower is perfect . . .Push a button and it starts! No fumes or smell of gasoline! No extension cords to work around! The mulching attachment is super easy to use, the batteries and charger are great, the mower is light and easy to handle and does a perfect job cutting. I use the EGO leaf blower to clean it off when finished, and store it upright in the garage. The self propelled version is the best. Keep in mind though the faster you roll it, the quicker your battery will run down. So if you have a really large yard be sure your second battery is fully charged! My advice is to recharge the batteries as soon as you finished mowing so they are ready to go for the next time. Highly recommended by this 71 year old female! W

Does a good job, sturdy for the most part

Pros:•Battery lasts a long time, compared to most models.•Comparatively wide cutting area.•Has no trouble navigating slopes.•Feels sturdy for the most part.Cons:•Green lever blade on/off control feels a little flimsy; I’m not sure how long it’ll last.•Although the angle of the handle assembly can be adjusted in relation to the mower, its length cannot.I like that this particular package included the charger and two batteries. Unless you have a very small yard, you want the flexibility to cover at least an hour of mowing at a time, and having a second battery allows this. The battery is charged quickly in the charger. In general, EGO has a good reputation for producing battery powered lawn and garden tools; I’m expecting this will be a good more which will last a good many years.

    Great mower but…

I’m a big fan of the Ego 56V product line. I originally purchased this mower in the non-propelled version and I loved it! My property is a bit hilly and a half acre, so I decided I probably should get the self-propelled version to help with the uphill mowing. Not really sure I needed it. Here’s why:This mower is heavier than the non-propelled version, simply due to the self propel motor. Of course there’s a trade-off. Lower battery life. I found changing the battery frequently was my biggest annoyance. In turn I found myself using the self-propel option less often, and the weight of the mower worked against me mowing even on the slightest uphill angle.Even with that said. The mower cuts every bit as well as my gas-powered mower and has the same amount of torque. The handle folds down and the mower is compact and fits neatly in my garage without an issue. The quality of Ego products is superb. I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest this mower at all, but, if you have a decent sized property, like mine, get a few extra batteries.

EGO battery Powered self propelled Lawn Mower.

I am very happy with my Battery powered Lawn Mower. It is powerful, fast and does a great job cutting lawn. I have a little over a third of an acre of lawn and just one battery can do almost all of my ground. Having Two batteries is a bargain. The batteries charge up in less than a half hour.It took me a little while to get used to the rear wheel drive, since my former gas powered mower had front wheel drive. Now that I am used to it, I like it.There is a learning curve in using this mower. I found the start up sequence easy but different from what I expected. The Mower has variable speeds and is capable of propelling the mower faster than I am able to walk. The catcher works great and can compact the grass cutting… It also has a mulching attachment and a side blower without the bag… both of which I have never used.Needless to say, I love this mower and I actually look forward to the grass growing so that I can cut it down again.

    Fantastic Performance and Unmatched Convenience!

I recently purchased the self-propelled Ego Electric Lawn Mower, and I am absolutely thrilled with its performance! This remarkable machine has surpassed all my expectations, making lawn maintenance a breeze.First and foremost, let’s talk about the cutting ability of this mower. It is simply outstanding! The blades are incredibly sharp and precise, effortlessly gliding through even thick grass, leaving behind a beautifully manicured lawn. I was amazed at how evenly it trimmed, giving my yard a professional finish every time. This mower’s cutting prowess is truly second to none.Another aspect that impressed me greatly is how easy it is to maneuver. The Ego Electric Lawn Mower is designed with user-friendliness in mind. Its lightweight construction and intuitive controls make navigating around obstacles, flower beds, and tight corners a cinch. Maneuvering this mower feels almost effortless, ensuring that you can easily reach every nook and cranny of your yard without any hassle. When it comes to self-propulsion, this mower stands out from the competition. The self-propel feature provides an impressive speed that allows me to cover large areas of my lawn with minimal effort. Whether I’m mowing uphill or on uneven terrain, the self-propulsion system handles it with ease, providing a smooth and consistent forward motion. I can confidently say that the self-propel feature on this mower is both powerful and reliable.Additionally, this electric mower is eco-friendly, producing zero emissions and reducing noise pollution compared to traditional gas-powered models. The convenience of not having to deal with gas, oil changes, or pull cords is a game-changer. Simply charge the battery, and you’re ready to tackle your lawn without any fuss.

    Battery Dead/Customer Service

After much research & angst, as $500 is expensive, & tech is fairly new or unimproved (in my opinion), I purchased this mower on 5/6/2023.The lawn mower cuts great for mulching or rear bagging, however, here it is 6/28/23, 3 mows later, and I’m already having issues with one of the two batteries received in the kit.I fully charged both batteries a couple of days ago without issue.I was more than 3/4 finish mowing when I decided to swap batteries as the battery ending in Serial # “A” which worked perfectly, was getting low. To my dismay, I put the battery ending in Serial # “B” into the mower, pressed start, nothing. The indicator light was flashing red & green.I took the battery out & put it on the charger, no lights, no anything. I put battery A on the charger and it starts charging. The battery “B” is completely dead without warning and again this is after fully charging it only a few days ago. Battery “A” charged completely without issue. I tried “B” the next morning and again, NOTHING.I called EGO customer service…long wait so I opted for a call back. When the rep called, she took my information, and registered the mower…during the call I was disconnected….she called back.I expressed my concern with the product and got no feedback from the representative. I asked, are you there? “Yes, I’m here”….Hmm, Ok!! No I’m sorry for your trouble, inconvenience, etc…She sends me an email to which I replied with a picture of the receipt and was instructed to call back in 10 minutes. I waited 20.I call, and again, opted for a call back… A new rep calls, I explain the situation, then got abruptly hung up on AGAIN!!! No call back this time!!!I call again!!! Opted for return call, an hour later, no call back. So I called again!!!! Opted for callback. An agent calls, I explained what’s going on.She had me unplug the charger, try in another outlet, etc, came back saying the charger is faulty and will send me a new one. I said, no, it is working, I was able to charge battery A as I said above. In the end, they are sending me a new battery, and said to allow 15-18 business days and told me to dispose or recycle the one that’s not working. As a tree hugger, I wish they’d recycle their own batteries.

Heavy mower, with a wide wheelbase

I bought this for my wife because she likes to mow, but was tired of our hills with a smaller rechargeable push mower. So, overall this was a good upgrade for her. Mower works well, but is heavy and somewhat difficult to make tight cornering. One battery came completely unusable, because it would not hold a charge. I had already registered the items (2 batteries and mower) so I was a little disappointed that I had to explain everything again to their phone rep. And even more disappointed that it took nearly almost 4 weeks to get a replacement battery. But, they did send one at no cost. Good customer service. I would by from this company again.

    The Tesla of Lawnmowers

Based on a recommendation from a friend, I decided to look into the EGO+ mower because he said that it made short work of his (much larger) yard. Here’s my take:Pros——1) There’s no drama when starting it — and no (major) maintenance.Gas-powered mowers are not high-maintenance, but if you’re like me and you sometimes slack on maintenance, there’s no need to gap spark plugs, using fuel stabilizer in the winter, and doing the occasional carburetor cleaning. An electric mower is literally just like an EV car — most of the maintenance to keep it running drops to zero and that means a no-drama startup after the unit has been idle for days/weeks/months.2) It’s quiet.I actually put this to the test and found that while you will hear the sound of blades of grass getting cut, it’s no where near as loud as a gas mower. This reduces my guilt when mowing “early” (before 10am) on weekends because a neighbor might be trying to sleep in…3) Powerful self-propulsionAnother added bonus is that the self-propulsion of the EGO mower is also more powerful and using that does not reduce power to the mower blades, though it will deplete the battery quicker.4) Battery Charger is QUICKEasily charges from nearly empty to full in less than 30 minutes. Probably somewhere closer to 15-20 though I haven’t timed it.Cons——-1) One battery can’t do my whole yard.Luckily the mower comes with two, and I can do the front of the house and the “flat” part of my backyard on a single battery, but when I start to deal with the steep incline in the back of our home, I let the mower’s self-propelled wheels ease my workload. If I had gone with the larger battery back, I could probably do it all on one battery, but I now just swap batteries when I move from the front to the back.2) The mower’s handle is really long… which makes mowing on steep grades tougherMy old (gas-powered) mower had a shorter handle which made mowing on the hill I live on a bit easier to maneuver.

    Heavier than Expected

I really like the convenience of this mower, but there are 3 things that I’m not crazy about. 1. Heavier than I expected, but with its fold up and roll around feature, it’s manageable. 2. The rear wheel power drive makes it tough going around sharp corners when you have to slow down to turn and the power drive is very powerful, so start out with it on low. 3. The blade that comes with it does not suck up the grass….especially if it’s relatively long. The uplifting blade should be what they put on the mower……had to order it separately. All in all, this is a relatively good mower, but if you’re expecting something light and super easy to use, this isn’t it.

    Ego electric mower

Seems like a quality product. The whole thing is plastic and light which is nice, but wonder how long it’ll hold up. All of my previous mowers were gas powered and metal bodies and they were good at taking a beating. Power seems more than adequate. Easy to use.

    A TOTAL MONSTER!!!

We couldn’t start our gas powered Craftsman no matter how much we tried. Spark plug change didn’t help. We decided to look into battery powered mowers and settled on the EGO. The best choice we could have made. It was stated that the mower would arrive with a charger and two batteries but when we opened the box there was only one . I called the customer service line, gave them the necessary information and they said they’d ship the second battery. They did and it arrived in a week. We’ve mowed only once and the battery still has lots of life in it. I could do without the unnecessary head lights, though.

    ALMOST PERFECT

The EGO LM2102SP-21” does everything perfectly-ALMOST! THE BAD NEWS: 1) The flat-pitch cutting blade supplied provides POOR mulch action, does NOT adequately eject cuttings into the collection bag and, will NOT pick up leaves for mulching. 2) The mower needs one more ‘LOW’ (lower) setting.THE GOOD NEWS: A Hi-Lift blade is available and IT WORKS…mostly curing all of the #1 issues above. Additionally the mower is so light, the seamless, SP option is nearly superfluous but, my wife loves it. I’ve never seen her mow before but, she will with this unit. So far (with the hi=lift blade) the mower has done the job ie cutting grass. I’ve run it through some 6“ plus weeds, no problem. The ‘acid’ test will be high thick Bermuda. But, for now, I pretty much have the ‘perfect’ (battery powered) mower. I’d buy it again. I took off one star for the stupid OEM blade and stingy ‘low’ setting.

    Easy to manage!

This mower is so easy to use. I’m a 77 year old women and have no problem with mowing my lawn. Compared to my last battery powered mower, the batteries are light weight and charge up very very quickly. The mower is also very quiet and it cuts beautifully. I can’t say enough about it except that I truly love it. Another plus about this purchase is that it comes with 2 batteries! Fantastic!!!!!

    Nice Alternative

I was pleased with this mower. I typically used a walk behind mower for the tight areas that I can the rider into. The mower performed well. It was light and easy to meneuver. It had no problem cutting the grass. I did test the mower by cutting my entire lawn with it. The self propel feature was great. I could easily increase or decrease the speed as needed. Battery life was good and got about 45 to 50 minutes. I would recommend this mower as an alternative to gas powered mowers.

    NOT ready for Prime Time

Pros: seems well built, easy to operate, easy to adjust height, stands vertical for easier storage in garage, fast charger works well, bagging grass is fine, less noise and vibration than gas mowerCons: This mower does not like to mulch grass, I use mower at 2nd highest height, this mower leaves SOO much uncut grass in the middle of the mowing path, I only use two thirds of the mower deck and walk at almost slowest self propelled speed. It takes me 10 to 15 minutes longer to cut grass because I have to walk so slow and then go back over the yard to cut numerous spikes of grass sticking up. SOOfrustrating. Hard to push mower thru grass with out using self propelled feature, Battery door does notstay open when swapping battery. Battery degradation is also frustrating , when new I could cut my yard, about 5200 sq ft, with only one battery, now 6 months later I use up 2 fully charged 4 ah batteries. So much frustration, I feel like I paid $500 for a premium mower, and I received the grass cutting of a $200 Troybilt/MTD mower, I DO NOT recommend this mower, I’m sure the twin blade EGO mowersare much better but soo much more expensive..

All our lawn products are now EGO, batteries chargers, we are all set, lawn mower works great easy to use & light weight, one battery to do quarter acre with house on it, only one gasser left & next year we replace our ole reliable snow blower with an EGO snow blower that will be much lighter & easier to handle.

    Battery defective—customer service tedious.

First things first—the mower works well. Plenty of power and one battery takes care of my lawn with juice to spare. However, one of the batteries was defective—so I called customer service. They were nice, but the process was lengthy and tedious. But what can be expected—from a product made in China—and customer service in India?

    My lawn mower has headlights!

I’ve been mowing my little yard with a corded electric push mower that my neighbor gifted me twenty years ago. Mowing was a chore. Then I visited my sister’s back east and she had one of these- electric, no cord, self-propelled- and mulching, so no bag to empty. The clouds parted and angels sang. I… must… have… one.Click click and two days later it’s on my doorstep. Easy to use, plenty of power to do my whole lawn, the variable speed function is great- I have mine set to “geezer” so that it does the best possible job of mulching- because NO MORE BAGS for me.My only quibble is that the distance from the blade arc to the front of the mower is a bit much, so it’s difficult to cut all the way into those corners unless you can fit the mower sideways. Oh well, I’ll just have to get out my new electric weed whacker…

    Lots of power

I have a couple of hills that are getter harder to mow as I age. This self-propelled electric mower meets my needs. It came with two 4 amp batteries that each last me almost 40 minutes and are super easy to change out. The speed of this mower is adjustable and easily works for both me and my wife. The batteries charge quickly, and the charger has an automatic shut-off if you forget to disconnect the batteries. The grass height adjustment is super easy to use and very convenient. I also like the ability to tip up the mower to clean underneath and gas doesn’t run out of the tank. In fact, I store my mower on end in my garage between mowing, so it doesn’t take up much floor space. The mower cut is very nice and the blades seem very sharp. They also seem easy to replace when the time comes. That is the main maintenance item on this mower. It is not much lighter than my gas mower as the batteries are somewhat heavy but the self-propelled featured makes up for the weight.I like the fact you can use the self-propelled feature with the mower blades off to save energy and also if you are done mowing to get it back to the house. There are a few differences from a gas mower, but I didn’t find anything annoying or problematic.I highly recommend this mower. As a side note, there are some great videos on YouTube that can give you good tips concerning backing up and other things that differ from a gas mower.

A GREAT lawn mower, even for seniors!

After having returned a different brand’s self propelled mower that proved to be too difficult for us seniors to use, my husband and I took a chance and ordered this more expensive but highly rated EGO LM2102SP-A. And are we GLAD that we did! Though the glowing description and reviews had seemed to be hype, every word of praise for this perfectly designed self propelled mower has turned out to be true for us! My husband and I are in our 70’s and we have had NO problems whatsoever with any aspect of this great machine. It’s far and away the best lawn mower we have ever owned — and we have owned many mowers over the years, including other battery powered self propelled models, plus riding mowers, gas mowers and even electric mowers that had cords attached. This EGO is by far the easiest for both of us to use and it does a great job! The adjustments of cutting height and speed for the self propelled feature are amazingly easy. Performance has been superb, even on our very tough southern St. Augustine lawns. Mulching has been great, with no piles of residue left behind. One battery can easily handle our entire quarter acre lot and the batteries recharge very quickly. The mower is not too heavy or cumbersome for me to handle on my own. Set up is very quick and intuitive. Safety features are excellent and easy to use. After just a few weeks of mowing our lawns with this machine our grass appears to be much healthier than our neighbors’ lawns that continue to be ravaged by the heavy commercial riding mowers that race over the land as if they’re in the Daytona 500. We had hired the same company to mow our lawns but those gargantuan noisy & smelly machines and their speeding drivers had wrecked our lawns, leaving deep ruts as they made sharp fast turns, never changing the mowing pattern, spreading weed seeds from other lawns and generally doing a terrible job for a very high price. After many back straining attempts to repair the damage, we’d finally had enough. After seeing what we can do with our new EGO mower, we have zero regrets about firing that company. Our EGO will not only pay for itself in just a few months, it will run quietly with minimal maintenance and our lawn will be far healthier.Mowing a lawn in the Florida heat and humidity is always a challenge. Early in the day it may be a bit cooler but the grass is too wet and humidity too high. Later in the day the grass and air are drier but it’s extremely hot. We have been able to run our EGO late enough in the day (around dinner time) when the UV index is safe and heat has lessened and a very quiet half hour later we’re done for the week. After a simple blow off of any bits of grass from the blade housing we simply roll the machine back into the garage where it folds easily, quickly and compactly to fit in an 18” by 22” space.I could (obviously) go on and on about this wonderful machine. The EGO LM2102SP-A is truly the best lawn mower my husband and I (married 50 years this week!) have EVER owned. What a joy it is for BOTH of us to use and what a great job it does. Our neighbors and several passerby have asked marveled at our results and asked about it. The EGO company has created the perfect design and we are 100% pleased with its performance. We can’t thank you enough, EGO!!!

Still going strong after a year.

This EGO+ lawn mower works great and I use it a few times a year on my front and back lawn and can do both lawns on one charge (though, by the end, the battery definitely needs a charge). Well built, amazing battery life, good cutting ability.

    Maybe more like 4.5 stars.

It is a very good product so far, with some minor issues. Mine makes a whining noise when the drive is engaged AND moving, not just engaged and standing still. No good explanation for this I can find. The rear-wheel drive takes some getting used to after years of front wheel drive on my gas mower. It is surprisingly NOT as light weight and stable as I thought it would be and a bit worse when the battery weight is in place. Not as easy to steer on corners and grades either. At times I have to “give it some gas” to maneuver which is a little tricky given the placement of the right-side throttle. The directions for using the side chute are essentially non-existent. And maybe I missed it, but I haven’t found directions or guidance on how to secure it to a wall to save space or to elevate it to clean underneath without resting against the plastic parts. Not sure why you need a separate mulching blade as it works well without one. Replacing or upgrading batteries will be expensive.Sound like this is a negative review but it’s not. On the PRO side, it is easy to start and restart and so far, very easy to maintain. It is fairly quiet and not worrying about gas and oil is very nice and seems to cut nicely. It has many very good features and I don’t regret the purchase at all.

Exactly what I was expecting in an electric mower

This mower works fantastically and I’ve mowed my lawn with it a few times before writing this review. I have a 1/3 acre lot for context.Pros: the cut is fantastic and very clean looking. It’s even leaving my lawn looking healthier. The smaller deck means I can get into lots of nooks and crannies easier. I love how lightweight it is and it doesn’t tear up my shoulder or hip (I have shoulder and hip issues). The self propel is awesome but I find I actually don’t even to use it too much with how lightweight it is. In perfect conditions, each battery does get 30 minutes of cutting, even when using the self propel. Charging the battery takes less time than it takes to drain the battery so you can basically seamlessly swap. (I’m interested to see how that works as the batteries age but worst case, you could add a third battery into rotation easily.) Assembly was super easy. It’s very quiet and, while I’ve not mowed in the dark, the light is definitely bright enough to mow in the dark. (My ears are very thankful that I don’t have to blast my music to hear over my old mower.)Con: It struggles with wet grass and if your grass is wet or dewy, it will drastically kill the battery life. The one morning I tried to mow, it took me almost 3 hours instead of the max of 90 minutes I’ve had every other time I’ve mowed. If you push it until the battery fully dies, it does take longer to charge than you get off the second battery (in other words, as soon as you see a red light, stop and swap your battery-don’t drain it entirely or you’ll be waiting for the other battery to fully charge). All in all, I’m very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend this mower if you’re in the market.

Never going back to a gas mower

This mower has been great.First off it arrives basically ready to use other than charging the batteries and putting the bag on the frame (if you want to use the bagging feature). It is super lightweight, but seems sturdy so far. So lightweight that I only use the power drive feature when going uphill. And unlike my old gas mower this must have some type of clutch system that disengages the power drive when you aren’t using it so there’s no extra drag from that while pushing the mower. The only downside is that it takes a fraction of a second for it to engage or disengage when you release the drive handle. On flat ground it took about half the length of the mower to disengage, so just release it just before you want to stop.I’ve only mowed twice so far, but it seems to do just as well as the gas mower cutting. It does take a second or so to come to full speed, so it’s not really worth stopping the blades at the end of each pass while you turn around. Also if you fully release the blade handle you’ll have to push the start button again. I’ve got a small suburban lawn and 1 battery does just over half my lawn. But that said I just swap out the batteries and drop the discharged one on the charger, and it’s been charged when I finish mowing, so you could probably mow almost indefinitely with just swapping batteries. It will be interesting to see how long this lasts. The plastic seems well designed and sturdy enough (and it won’t rust out like steel).

Love this machine – finally got a good lawn cut this season!

I have been struggling all season to get a lawn cut that was not clumping up and leaving trails of cuttings which dried out and ruined my grass. I made the decision to get a new mower and potentially go battery. I read all the reviews on the EGO mower and watched all the customer videos. I decided to make the switch from gas powered to battery and purchased the mower. I unboxed it – was very easy as it pretty much came out of the box ready to go. Only issue was one of the batteries would not charge – it came with two. Called the company and they will be sending me a new one. Was able to cut my lawn with the one battery and another smaller one I have from the EGO Power Blower. It did a fantastic job. It picked up all the grass – no more having to rake the clumps my old mower was leaving. It cut it close and even. It was relatively easy to maneuver, quiet and very powerful. I cut my lawn in a little over 2 hours; it had been taking me up to 4 hours as I had to keep raking up the grass clippings and going over areas. I am extremely happy with my purchase and actually looking forward to cutting as it does such a good job and left the lawn looking great.

Good machine, super bad customer service

OMG the hours I spent on customer service issues. Short story: the tool is okay, customer service is mostly terrible.PROS: Light, quiet, two batteries allow me to charge one while using the other, not fueled by fossil fuels.CONS: Doesn’t cut as well as my Toro gas mower, incredibly bad customer service, whatever pollution mining lithium and rare-earth metals produces.THE STORY (SHORT VERSION): Out of the box, the prong on the cord of the charger was bent. Customer service (CS) told me to take a picture and if there was a warranty issue that would be my proof. Okay.Be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes for someone to answer, usually longer. Don’t bother asking for a call back. They say they will call related to wherever you are in the queue, but my calls always came at the end of the day when I was on to something else (having dinner with my family, when I don’t answer calls) or days later, from a number I don’t recognize, and don’t pick up. So they leave a barely intelligible message and that’s the end of it until I call them back.Ran the mower twice, heard a strange whining noise (squealing, like a bad belt or part needing oiling) whenever I engaged the traction motor (self-propelled). I called CS and they asked me a ton of questions as if I had never mowed a lawn and then asked me to take a video. I sent them the video (this alone involved some back and forth) and waited for an answer. No answer came. Called them and the agent acted like it was a brand new issue and said she would review the video with her supervisor while I waited (20 minutes). Agent told me the noise was not normal and to take it for repair.Repair shop charged me $30 for diagnostic and told me the noise was normal.I contacted CS several times to ask for my $30 back for diagnosis, since they had told me to take it to the shop. Finally escalated to a supervisor who said they would refund it to my credit card and would that satisfy me? I said yes. After a couple of weeks the refund did not appear so I contacted EGO. If I thought I had been through h*ll already, that was nothing. Weeks of fighting with EGO and getting the run around. Finally found out the supervisor had been fired. The new supervisor said he would check with management. Two weeks later (I think by now it had been more than 8 weeks of fighting) he told me (after I called back a few times) that management would not authorize a refund. So a service call they told me to make ended up costing me $30. Whatever I saved buying it on this site was negated.Other issues: one of the batteries went bad after four uses. It would no longer hold a charge. Somehow CS approved a replacement, which was sent to me in under two weeks (unlike many other reports I have read here, at BBB, and elsewhere). So far so good. Then I went to swap the blade with a mulching blade. I could not get the bolt off. I have changed many mower blades and am not an idiot. I tried heat, liquid wrench, nothing worked. I assume they tightened it beyond recommended torque at the factory. I did not want to break or round-off the bolt-head, so I called CS, waited the usual 20-30 minutes. They told me to take it to the shop, which I was scared to do for fear of another $30 lost, but they managed to loosen the bolt and change the blade. Covered by warranty.I reported this to BBB and asked for satisfaction: a $30 refund for service call. (BTW the parent company is named “Chervon” (not Chevron) so that is who the complaint was lodged against). After 30 days Chervon did not respond to BBB, as they have not done for all the other complaints lodged against them at BBB. Note their F+ rating with BBB. Check out some of the horror stories on that site. The tool is adequate and I was really hoping to do my part to fight climate change by buying electric, but if they want to survive as a company they should consider improving their abysmal customer service. Or maybe they are leading the way towards ever worsening brand quality.

    Jus. t what I wanted

The positive reviews I read before ordering this Ego mower have been validated by my experience with it. I’ve mown my overgrown back yard twice with it now: the first time with the blade set high, as suggested. I’d felt almost beaten by our rainy summer and the shortened charge time on my old Black & Decker 36V mower. I needed more power but, as an 81-year-old woman, wanted a mower that would be easy for me to handle. The EGO mower has taken a little getting used to. It’s not light as a feather, really, and figuring the set-up and managing the self-propel feature probably took me a little longer than it would some. But everything has been pretty easy. My yard has slopes and bankings of various grades, and so far I’m happy to use my somewhat more agile old B&D mower on the worst of them and leave the bigger stretches of my quarter acre to the EGO. A single charge has been plenty, though I especially like the efficiency of the fast-charger. I expect to like the EGO still more as I get more used to it. It arrived at my Massachusetts home in perfect condition. Now I have hopes that my yard will remain in similarly great shape. Me too. I like the exercise.

Good idea in principle but makes it harder to mow lawn

I will preface this review by saying that I have several EGO tools (including a non-self-propelled mower) and have been very pleased overall with them. After buying the first mower, I wished I had opted for the self-propelled model but was pleased with the mower. I recently gave my other mower to my daughter who just bought a house and decided to purchase the self-propelled model. After the first use, I was very frustrated that while the drive mechanism is easy to understand and flexible, it makes the mower much more cumbersome. Some of that may have to do with my oddly shaped yard and slight hills but you cannot make corners with the drive mechanism engaged. This is due to the fact that it is rear wheel drive. I have had previous (gas) mowers that were self-propelled with front-wheel drive and they were MUCH easier to maneuver than this mower. I must have engaged/disengaged the drive mechanism what seemed like 500 times during my 45 minute mowing session. I was pleasantly surprised that the mower came with 2 batteries but quickly found out why: this mower doesn’t last nearly as long as the non-self-propelled model. I was barely able to make it through my 45 minute mowing job. I thought I would have to install the second battery to finish but it was able to barely make it. Final Thoughts: As a lawnmower, it works fine and I like the fact that it is battery powered but the additional features (and added weight) make it much more difficult to maneuver, I felt like I got 3 times the workout that I normally get mowing the lawn. This may work great if you have a flat, open lawn but it doesn’t really work for me. I will give it another time or two to try to get used to it but as of now, I’m not happy with this purchase. I may update this review in the near future if my experience changed on subsequent mowings.

Other reviewes are right, mower is built well, but shipping destroys the box.

mower is built well enough to handle the beating of a UPS driver that dosen’t care about your package. box will probably arive to you in a horible condition, but the mower is in tact and reliable. my 1 complaint about the mower is the battery life, but the 2 batteries cover most lawns, so that fixes that complaint.

    Great bagger system

I really like this mower, it does a good job on longish grass.. batteries last about 30 minutes , and it came with two. Easy to operate , self propulsion works well , no gas, no oil, less noise ..easy to clean when done . Batteries charge in about a half hour . The only problem I had was it came with one completely dead battery , and it was a bit of a challenge to go through the process of getting it replaced .. but I was able to get through that and in truth the battery was replaced by EGO in less than 10 days .. I’ll never go back to gas powered!

    Easy to use!

I replaced a smaller electric mover that only had one battery and a smaller deck. This one came pre assembled, took it out of the box, charged a battery which was super fast and 30 minutes later I was mowing! Love the self propelled feature as I have some small hills in my front and back yard, it has a mulching blade so I don’t bag my grass but it comes with a bag if you want to use it. Folds up nicely which is helpful as I have a small garage and a big SUV! I can move my yard front and back on one charged battery.23 acre but with a second battery you can easily do a much larger yard. Very quiet and efficient and lightweight which is great for those of us advancing in age! Awesome mower, highly recommend!

    First Impressions – Seems Great

I watched and read many different reviews before deciding to purchase this mower. My overall impression of this mower is great but here are some small issues. I was mowing on the lowest deck setting, and trying to cut thick longer grass, and it did have difficulty as to be expected. My battery life, while using the self propelled feature, was only around 30 min. The positive to this situation was by the time the battery in the mower was low on power, my other battery that it came with would already be fully charged. Fully charging a battery is a fast process that I was surprised about. The other thing I was impressed with was I used the self propelled feature on a steep slope of grass and surprisingly it was able to cut the grass without issue and it navigated the steep slope with ease. I think this mower is very comparable to any gas mower in terms of power and not having to worry about gas, oil, oil changes, etc. just simplifies everything. In addition, the mower is ready to go in a matter of seconds and is fully assembled straight out of the box which is always nice.

    Quiet and smooth

I got this after we removed a large tree in our yard. The yard was mostly sand and had a few grass patches as the tree kept the yard shady and sucked any nutrients out from the soil. Now, grass is growing and we needed it cut. After several reviews and shopping for deals, this one won out and I am not disappointed. The charge time is quick, the battery like lasts for me to do the front and back yards of our corner lot twice. My only complaint is the deck is only 21” wide. I do wish is was a bit more.

This lawnmower is absolutely amazing, I am a 71 year old lady that had not done any yard work in 15 years. My husband bought this for me and I absolutely love it. It is so easy to start and change out the batteries also it is so easy to empty the bagger. I would recommend this to anyone young and old.

Powerful enough to cut my thick grass

It’s powerful, I have very thick grass, and it worked great. More powerful than my corded mower and my last gas mower. Using the self-propelling, It takes about four batteries to cut half an acre, so starting with fully charged two batteries, I charge the two batteries once while working. It will take much less if you don’t use the self-propelling but I don’t mind charging the battery while working with the other one. It takes about 20 minutes to charge so you can charge the empty one while working with the other. It is light and easy to maneuver. It’s a good mower and I am very happy with it.
