    Best Thing Ever

I have always been annoyed with people who praised about one of their kitchen appliances like it is the “Best Thing Ever”. However, I get it now. This makes cooking very easy on dishes I have made before. I started experimenting with new recipes that are not as easy to do with the oven. It’s perfect for making big batch meals to make meals for a few days.Simply put: get one of these and enjoy.

    Awesome and wonderful

I’ve bought several over the years most notably because of a cracked crock. Simple no brainer functionality unless an idiot pulls the crock out of the fridge and sets it to high immediately. But like the old saying goes you just can’t fix that. Seriously wish I could just buy the crock alone. It’s a great way to cook everything I’d normally do in pot. Makes ham hocks and beans that are just beyond anything I’ve ever made on a stove top. I will definitely buy again

    Newbie Here-Great Tool!

I’ve never had a crock pot before, and just starting cooking meals about 3 months ago. This makes really easy meals for 2-3 people! Just put in the food, plug it in, turn it to low, and stir when you remember! It’s that easy and made my weeknights so easy. My favorite meals to make with it have been BBQ meatballs, shredded chicken and gravy, and chili. I love to eat out of this thing.I store it on my top of my fridge and the main part of the crock pot fits easily on the bottom rack of the dish washer.

    Great for first time user

I love this and it’s easy to use for a first crock pot. Inside pot is heavy. Holds a lot. Just be careful handling. This one doesn’t have a timer. You have to remember when u turn it on and let it run until u feel it’s enough. Long cook times are fine.

    It’ll do

The crock pot I had before this took a dump after a good 10 years. I ordered this one. Not the best but it works for what I need it for; to cook food while I’m out. What I don’t like: it has no “on” indicator. If there’s no steam on the lid, you won’t know it’s on until you touch it and realize “ouch! That’s fricken hot!!!” So the outside gets very hot, can’t keep it close to anything. It gets worse. The cord is like “T-Rex arm” status, super short. Needs to be very close to the wall and not touching anything and make sure to only touch the plastic handle on the lid, but quickly because even that and the handles on the pot are also hot. Geez.

    Very large crock pot

I really like this crock pot , I’ve used it once and on low and you can tell it cooks good and fast , I was impressed with the heat it was putting out. I also like the appearance of this crock pot and how you can take out and wash it, which makes it very easy to clean up .If I have any negatives on it , is these 2 items, the handle on the lid is screwed in so when you wash the lid it moves in circles. Not a huge issue just a issue I think they could have designed differently. I bought this crock pot used/returned so I’m assuming the reason was because of the defect on the inside of the pot .it’s only cosmetic, doesn’t effect the cooking and I did buy it used /returned so I really can’t complain about it .so overall I highly recommend this crock pot and at a good price too.

Could I get a simple light?

It’s a simple knob slow cooker…put in a liner, dump in the food and cover and turn on…I’d like a old-school plastic red light just to show it’s on and in use, you know like a bright red for high, regular red for low and an orange for warm.Works well so far…big…

    Ready Cooked Meals

I love the larger size of this crockpot, allowing for an entire chicken or roast to fit nicely with room for vegetables. So convenient to set up your meal in the morning before heading to work and come home to the lovely smell of your ready to serve meal.

Can’t believe I never tried this before!

This is a great addition to our cooking appliances! My only complaint is that I never thought to get one before! I cook for a lot of students and events and this is a great way to go from our house to the next location and have the food heated and ready to serve. Or you can prep a meal and get other work done while it slowly simmers for a delicious result! Great product!

    Crockpot

Great size for family meals. This pot cooked up a very flavorful pot roast we had family dinner just like mom used to make. Delicious. It has 3 heat setting so you can turn it up a little or a lot to speed up cook times. I also like that the crock isn’t as heavy as they used to be so a much lighter pot.

    Outstanding Purchase

This Crock Pot was exceptional in almost all of my requirements. The price was terrific, the size and shape definitely met my standards, loved that the ceramic interior “bowl” is separate and can be taken out and easily cleaned, the controls with low, high and warm were all that I needed, and the fit of the lid is perfect, keeping the heat in. There are two concerns: 1. The exterior metal gets hot while cooking and creates a possible burn hazard if not careful. It definitely needs to be placed in a safe location while being used, especially if children are present. 2. It only has 3 supporting feet. It isn’t unbalanced, but requires extra attention when positioning it. Strange the manufacturer didn’t design the bottom with 4 supporting feet. However, have no small children, and overall the pros outweigh the cons (which I can work around) so it’s a keeper.

    Great for a big family!

I had to return this product because it was too big for my small family! But I enjoy the convenience of using a crock pot.If you are frequently out of your house, probably you would prefer a pot that automatically shuts off at the proper time. This one does not have that feature.

    No LED light

The crock pot works perfectly fine. However there is no led to indicate that it is plugged in/on/running. This should be fine for most people, but dang I have failed to actually slow cook my food three times now because I didn’t turn the dang knob or plug the thing in. This is a user error, not a device flaw, but if you are 100% mom brain scattered all the time like me, this may not be the crock pot for you.

Can think of any cooking appliance I’d rather have

Crock pots take a lot of the work out of cooking. Putting everything into one pot, go off to work or a shopping trip only to return and dinner is ready. You don’t have to worry about anything overcooking or the house burning down. You don’t even have to be there to stir it occasionally. Ceramic pots are even easy to clean or store in the fridge.

    Good Crockpot!

I’ve had this Crockpot multiple times. The burner unit has never failed me. I always end up breaking the pot or the lid before it fails. For the money I don’t think it can be beat. I got this on sale for $24 black Friday baby!It feels cheap and could dent easily so be careful. It is plenty big enough for most meals. The lack of a timer is kind of a bummer but it is their cheapest model soo. The company has definitely made the wire shorter over the years. It is barely enough to reach unless it is right up against the wall. It is packed with that crumbly foam so I would unpack outside, unless you want a mess.AMAZON: Why must you pack stuff like this in a box twice the size with NO stuffing. Do you like getting broken returns? I’m sure you know how shippers treat their packages. Not to mention I PAID for the shipping on this. No excuse…I will update if it fails and I have to return in a unreasonable amount of time!

    Good reliable crock pot

Reliable, versatile. Brings back memories of my Mom, when crock pots were new. Used it for roast beef, tuna and noodles, rice, etc. Hers lasted for years. I had my own 2qt for a long time but it finally got broken. So if I have any gripes at all, it’s that the 2qt are hard to find, had to settle for 3qt; also they used to come with a little book of recipes, but no more. I deducted 1 star for that, ha!

Crock-pot comparison to MaxiMatic and Calphalon Slow Cookers: Buy this one!

I wanted a BIG slow cooker since *for some reason* my family of six insists on eating three meals a day Every. Single. Day. Ugh! Luckily my MIL recognized my struggle and bought me the fanciest device I’d ever seen for Christmas: A Calphalon 7 Qt Digital Slow Cooker. I was in love with it… at first. Then I noticed liquid seeping into the base after each use. Long story short, after three complimentary replacement parts I still had a broken appliance and Calphalon wrote me an E-mail using the exact words: “…Calphalon has made the decision to stop producing electronics…” then issued me a refund. I turned around and bought a MaxiMatic 8 qt Slow Cooker (go big or go home, right?). It cooked waaaaay too hot (it boiled liquid on the lowest setting in under 5 minutes!) then stopped working entirely after a few months. I received my refund, bought this Crock-pot… and the rest, as they say, is history! How does this one compare to the others? It’s HUGE.…but not as big as the MaxiMatic. Both slow cookers claim to be eight quart size but in reality eight quarts of liquid fills the Crock-pot all the way to the lip of the lid, which isn’t realistic for actually cooking that much liquid. Still, it’s pretty HUGE, especially compared to Calphalon’s biggest size (7 quart). The MaxiMatic gives you a little extra room above the eight quart point BUT…Crock-pot has better temperature control. In the Crock-pot “Low” could cook a 4 lb pot roast all day (6+ hours). On “High” it cooks in about 4 hours. “Warm” keeps it warm. The MaxiMatic, on the other hand, cooks it in less than 2 hours ON LOW (and it leaves the meat tough as rubber) and the MaxiMatic “high” setting approaches temperatures comparable to the depths of Hell. Calphalon had accurate temps but it didn’t make up for the constant leaking, smaller crock and lack of customer support. The outside is very hot. This is one of those “duh” moments. Anything that cooks WILL get hot. Don’t touch hot things. Don’t put them near the edge of the counter where kids can touch them. Again: Duh! The Calphalon is the only model on the market that claims to be “cool to the touch” and guess what? It’ll still burn the crud out of you! It’s not as hot as other brands, but it’ll still do damage if you touch it, especially on the exposed areas of the crock liner. So as much as everyone complains about this aspect, I have to wonder if their moms never used the old 70’s Crock-pots with the wheat patterned orange shells that made delicious soup and seared the flesh off your bones if you touched them (so you just didn’t touch them). Shoot, my mom STILL uses hers. The moral of the story? Grow up! And stop shopping for cooking appliances that don’t feel hot. There is no timer. This is NOT a digital slow cooker. “Digital” slow cookers have specific temperature controls, fancy timers and auto shutoff options. They also break down faster, have things go wrong more often and (if they are Calphalon brand) their manufacturer discontinues selling them completely. There’s a reason those 70’s Crock-pots that I mentioned previously still walk the earth serving fondue at your grandma’s Bridge Club potlucks: simplicity. There are no buttons on this Crockpot. There is no digital screen. There is only a single knob with four options: Off, Warm, Low, High… Just like Grandma’s Crock-pot! What you give up in convenience you’ll make up for in durability, longevity and simplicity though. And you’ll just have to be *slightly* less lazy than slow cooker “dump it, leave it, eat it” style cooking permits by, you know, setting a timer. ::Ding::The crock liner is dishwasher safe.MaxiMatic and Crock-pot both allow their stoneware crock liners to be washed in the dishwasher. Calphalon does not. But even with dedicated handwashing, the Calphalon liner developed hairline cracks. Twice. The MaxiMatic did too, after a few months of regular use. This Crock-pot has been used and run through the dishwasher every other day (literally) since I bought it and has absolutely no issues whatsoever. I also notice the glaze on the stoneware is much more even on the Crock-pot. It had thin spots, pits and irregularities in both the MaxiMatic and the Calphalon. I have to assume there is better quality control on the manufacturing end at Crock-pot.That pretty much sums it up though. If anything changes, breaks, acts up, smells funny or does anything else unusual I’ll be sure to update this review. As it stands though, no news is good news. Buy this Crock-pot. You can thank me later.UPDATE: I bought this 8 quart Crock-pot through Amazon in December 2016. As of today, January 15th 2018, it is still running strong. I continue to use it several times a week and always run the crock liner and lid through the dishwasher. It is still as temperature-reliable as the day I first unboxed it and continues to be my favorite appliance… and that’s big, considering I also own a Kitchenaid mixer AND an Instant Pot (but the Instant Pot hisses at me and the mixer gives everyone dirty looks). If you haven’t bought one yet, you definitely need more pot roast in your life. And beans. Which BTW, this puppy can easily fit 2 lbs of dry pinto beans (hint: Use ham hocks! And shred the meat into the beans before serving. All other beans will be ruined for you after that). I’ll continue abusing my Crock-pot and updating my review if anything changes though, because SCIENCE!

    Excellent

I got this appliance for holiday cooking because I have a large family to make dinner for and like to keep things ultra simple on Christmas Eve. Not only is this unit massive enough to cook a ham, it also is very easy to clean and cooks very well. The Keep Warm feature is also great if you have a little more complicated slow cooker recipe which requires you to remove meat from the juices in order to make a sauce. Making chicken piccata on Christmas Eve, I kept the meat warm with this and made the sauce in a separate slow cooker. This unit is worth the money.

For the price, can’t be beat.

I really just wanted a slow cooker to make soups, and it worked well. No self timer (I use my phone’s timer) or any other fancy features but it’s simple and way to use. The lid does have a slight rocker when it’s in place but I didn’t find it as extreme as others have said, again for the price it didn’t affect my meals. Cleaning was easy too.It was packed well and I didn’t notice any defects so for what it is, what I use it for, I’m satisfied.

    Very Happy!

The media could not be loaded.

So happy with my new 7 quart crockpot! It’s the perfect size for my family of four, and depending on what I cook, I could easily feed another six people. I bought a fancy crockpot several months ago. It had all the bells and whistles and it was pretty, but I hated it. It made the food cook super fast so it burned! Probably user error but it was too complicated for what I needed. The handles on the fancy one are uncomfortable to hold when carrying it bc it’s got the locking lid feature which causes sharp edges. Not smooth at all. Since I couldn’t return it, we now use it to cook our elderly dog’s food in! I bought this “old style” one bc it’s very similar to my old Rival crockpot that I LOVED. It only has a three option switch. LOW, HIGH, and WARM (four if you count OFF). No, it doesn’t have an indicator light but you don’t miss what you never had. No timer, but I don’t need one bc I’ve got timers on my oven, microwave, and phone. I really like the look of the stainless steel and the black stoneware. The lid is just like my old one. Smooth stay-cool handle. It doesn’t lock or have a rubber seal around the outer edge. Fits nicely on top of the inner rim of the ceramic pot. I haven’t noticed any issues with steam that would burn someone. I’m careful not to put the lid right on my counter if it’s hot, but I can’t guarantee the rest of the family is. So far the lid hasn’t cracked or shattered bc of temperature changes. I gave it four stars bc I’ve only cooked in it once and haven’t had it long enough to really “know” it yet. Also the ceramic pot doesn’t fit snuggly in the unit like my Rival’s did (See video) but once filled with food it doesn’t wiggle anymore. I was concerned it wouldn’t cook food properly but I made Shredded Mexican Chicken today and it worked exactly like my old one. I was very glad it didn’t boil over the sides but that’s probably bc I like to leave a 1” space between the food and the top edge of the pot. The base unit gets VERY hot, but the smooth handles stay cool. The cord is a short length for safety reasons. The stoneware and lid wash easily. The unit has three rubber feet to stand on and it is not wobbly or dangerous. My meal got rave reviews! As I write this, it’s sitting on the kitchen counter on WARM so the family can dig in whenever they want! All in all, I’m VERY happy! Sometimes the old ways are better than the pretty new tech ones.

This has given me back so much time when it comes to meal prepping and the amount of money it has saved me by me not having to get takeout has paid for itself. I cook 5 pounds of chicken breasts for the next three days cut up into smaller squares in this thing and they come out excellent with a very easy cleanup afterwards. This has saved me countless hours and money, and made eating healthier and more budget friendly a piece of cake WITHOUT involving that much more time. You can also do other things while you cook, so multi tasking becomes a breeze!

    These things are a lifesaver

Mine has been getting used at least once weekly since I bought it and it makes my life soooo much easier. I’m handicapped and have a heck of a time staying in any position other than flat on my back for any length of time. This thing allows me to actually have REAL meals for days on end without having to be upright for hours trying to make stuff. It’s got a lot more room than my first one (different model) which is an instant plus, it seems to heats up faster too. So if you have trouble getting around or work long hours and just don’t have the energy to throw something together at the end of the day give this model a try, there’s nothing like coming home and having dinner there waiting for you.

    Everyone should own a crockpot

When my oven/stove broke a year ago, I was left with only my small microwave and air fryer for cooking needs. Whole ovens are expensive which I realized after my 20 year old stove died. A friend gave me an extra crockpot she had never used and it was a game changer. I started making simple things like bean soups. Pretty tasty! I ventured into using raw meat which had me worried about bacteria. But after 8 hours in a crockpot meat is more tender and juicy than you could ever imagine and perfectly safe. I moved into more fun stuff like Thai stews and soups, avgolemono, Mexican mayo beans soup, miso soup with tofu, and white and red Chili’s that were out of this world. This thing is, the crockpot seals in the moisture and the flavor, so there is a luxurious richness to any flavor you add. Anything I cooked, I had about 3 days worth and simply stored any extra in the freezer. I eventually replaced my oven, but use my crockpot about 2 times a week.I just purchased this 7 quart fella and he is a monster. Great for family’s or picnic meals as you get a lot of servings with this guy. If you are shopping for 1 or 2 servings crockpot, 3 to 5 qts is a good range. A quart is a lot more than you realize.

    Dependable and durable

I have used this product over the years and only needed to replace it after a move. I tend to be terrible about cleaning it due to overfilling it and such. I tend to get a new one when I move due to how much abuse this thing takes from me. I figure it is time to replace it since it has been cheaper in the past. Use this and abuse it and not think twice about it. Unless you need the digital display for certain things this one will do. My chili game thanks you.

    Heats up quick!

Love this thing! It heats up quickly. the only weird thing i noticed is the lid never keeps steam in so it sort of spills out sometimes 🙁 so u have to pick the perfect angle for the lid to be.

Easy to use and great quality for the price.

Simple slow cooker, just say no to touch panel kitchen appliances! That’s my policy anyway, every touch pad/panel electronically controlled kitchen item that I’ve had had failed within less than a year. With this simple slow cooker, it is just a dial and a plug, that’s it.I’ve cooked whole chickens, beef shoulders, pork shoulders, and many more. Set it and come back in 4-8 hours, and you should have fall-off the bone meats or delicious stew waiting for you. Cleanup is easy as the ceramic dish is impervious to chemicals and many tough scrubbers (don’t use metal wools, obviously). The body is stainless steel, which is much more sturdier than whatever metal panels other brands and models use. This is a no-brainer (literally, no electronics inside haha) and will definitely be providing me years of service. I love it.

    Daughter loves

Daughter requested a crockpot for Christmas but she is single. This fit the bill for a large enough one to make a roast (her request for size) and to feed 3 people. She has made a soup from scratch in it which she loved. Crockpot brand is great!

    Should be more stable

It operates as it should not the highest quality but also not the highest price but the one thing that I dislike is it’s only got 3 ft which makes it a little unstable if you were to unintentionally bump it or something moving it you must be careful when it’s full

    Works great

Got this for my husband as he always complained we didn’t have one and my instapot wasn’t the same lol. So here we are slow cooking meals and he loves it. Only complaint he has had is that for someMeals he wish it was bigger . Over all easy to use and clean and it works like it should!

    Very short cord

I have only used this crock pot once, and it worked well. I like that you can take the ceramic bowl (?) out to clean. My previous crockpot ( which I had had since 1978!) was not as easy to clean, but worked great. Unfortunately it finally died. This one has a very, very short cord and I have to make sure it is RIGHT NEXT TO the wall so I can plug it in. Why can’t the cord be just a few little inches longer? Crazy!

    Great for 1-2 people

The only thing I would change is I wish I had purchased a larger one. This cooks very well and fast
