Excited to have lettuce
I have used AeroGarden systems in the past but I have to say that their new light system is far superior to the old ones. I grew the herb garden and got a fantastic supply of dried herbs from it. I’m really excited about the lettuce garden because I think it will be superior to the previous attempts at lettuce. With the old lighting, the lettuce was thin and frail. I’m confident based on the herbs I grew that this batch of lettuce will be much better and more like the lettuce grown outside in the summer. I’m super excited to see how this turns out. I would highly recommend AeroGarden systems and seed pods. I’ve never been disappointed and every seed pod did produce plants. I think it is far superior than rummaging through the grocery store produce for something worth buying. Plus I don’t have to wash down the produce out of fear of salmonella, etc. If I could afford the electricity, I would grow ALL of my produce at home in an AeroGarden room. Some people do and I so envy them.

Lettuce
I planted two pods and I make two great salads a week. Only draw back is that the plant food liquid doesn’t pour easily. They do NOT have a customer service phone number, only web site but they do have a chat feature. My display quit working after 4 weeks, so I just use it manually

Not what was described
I ordered the mixed romaine kit, 6 pods. Everything grew and did really great, which I was very happy about. However, 4 stars because it wasn’t a mix of red and green romaine, it was all green. I was really looking forward to the red stuff, lol.

Labeling Has Changed
Arrived in great condition BUT I found out that Aero Garden has changed their labeling practices, and each pod is labeled all the SAME “Heirloom Salad Green”. You no longer know what you have planted specifically, just that it is some type of Heirloom Salad Green. Very disappointed in this change.

Only 3 of the six sprouted and I have already harvested and ate some of the lettuce (13 days). I’ll be looking into the guarantee to see if I can get the 3 that didn’t sprout replaced.

I read the description and didn’t see or understand that you needed to purchase the aero garden first. Not all pods work – too bright for a bedroom
Bought as a gift for someone. Its really cool and the automation is great. Blinks red to add fertilizer, blinks red to add water. So easy to use. I imagine is I had 60 of these on Mars like Mark Watney all lined up starting a new one each day so each one was in a different cycle, he could have fresh produce everyday. ha ha!That said my Basis, Dill and Parsley grew great, but all of my salad greens (x3 test) were duds.So I ordered 9packs of Romain lettuce and got shipped 6 packs of “International Basal”. So I sent it back and the second order was exactly the same “International Basal”. Sigh….Overall decent, 1 star off for being unable to get lettuce and the lettuce I had failed to grow.Oh and also even if you get the timing just right, on at 8am and off 15 hours later, its really hard to get sleep schedules matching if you keep it in a bedroom. Its really bright. We quickly moved it out to the dining room out of the way. In the dining room its nice to have a bright light on a dark winters day.

Check daily for best results
This was my first time growing lettuces alone. The growth was slower than the starter kit of herbs and lettuce. I lost one of the pods, it wasn’t getting enough light as the pod next to it had large leaves. The real test will be when I pinch the leaves off. My first kit grew new leaves so we’ll see.

I’ve grown a few crops of these, in both Aerogarden and other brand hydroponic setups. They are easy enough to start and keep happy, and a pretty awesome snack to just snap a leaf off when you walk by them.Unfortunately, as with all seed products, a few will inevitably fail to grow. Maybe out of 12 pods, 1 or 2 will nearly always fail. Statistically, this isn’t bad, and I’m still happy with the purchases. The part that irritates me is that they have a “guarantee” when using an Aerogarden machine, but over the past year they have never once replaced any pods or even replied with further steps.

No duds in this batch
My first go at the aero garden I used the herb pods provided in the kit, and two of them never grew. I was nervous ordering these from Amazon because I thought this might occur again, but all of these pods have begun to sprout. Unlike the herbs…which decided to all take off around the same time and making it impossible to use them all, we eat a ton of lettuce, so hopefully we can keep up with the production. They started sprouting within 3 days, which is also much faster than the herbs. The pods also came with a new bottle of plant food, but I’ve also just used miracle grow liquid plant food from Lowe’s and that worked just fine. The whole idea of hydroponic systems is relatively easy and user friendly. I’m my experience the first month or so is relatively hands off…once the plants start growing you’ll notice that the water level starts dropping every couple of days and you have to remember to water them. Plant food will need to be added at least once a week once the plants starts getting big. Hope this helps!

Fabulous growth of Salad Greens!
These plants have produced incredible amounts of salad greens! The plants shown have been cut back 3 times giving my husband 3 awesome and plentiful salads! Two of the pods didn’t produce anything, as you can see from the center photo. BUT, that being said, the photo was taken after the third clipping and you could barely see the remaining pods before the salad was made. Would there have been room for the other two pods to expand with additional greens? I do wish they would have produced, but I did not negatively rate because the ones that have produced have been above and beyond what I expected.Pros:Unbelievable amounts of greens for my husband’s salads!Beautiful to look at in my AeroGarden!Cons:2 pods didn’t produce any greensMore salad greens than can be consumed!I highly recommend these greens if you want unlimited amounts of salad and want to watch the beautiful salad greens grow before your eyes!

Love fresh
I love being able to just pick my fresh salad greens and my grandchildren love watching them grow. I am a little disappointed because 3 of the 9 pods didn’t grow anything. The other 6 did fine and produced delicious salad green. Will I order again? Yeah, I probably will give it another try.

Lettuce in winter? Yes please
I bought my mother the AeroGarden for her birthday as she loves to garden all summer so I figured we could try it. Well, she LOVES these pods. She gets whole bags of lettuce and usually has to gift some of it because there is so much. Definitely worth the cost because she gets to tend a mini garden in the winter and enjoy some fresh lettuce as well.

I wanted the red and green leaf lettuce like I purchased before–Salad Greens are NOT them
I purchased the red and green leaf lettuce pods and they were great! I knew there were other varieties within that box. The next time I went to purchase the SAME seed pods, the box I received said, “Salad Greens”; Ok. Well, I assumed that the red and green leaf lettuce seed pods would be amongst those in the box. They were not. The lettuce that grew, was “ok”, but not like a decent head of lettuce. So I am going to make sure the next box is NOT “Salad Greens”, and it is more like the red and green leaf lettuce that grew so nicely last time. ALSO, I have had a smaller yield with this newer box. ONE of the seed pods did not grow at all; I had to throw it away after 2 1/2 weeks of NOTHING.

Plastic Pods don’t fit into older Aerogardens
I’ve had my Aerogarden for around 10 years, and it still work fine. For the most part, these pods are good and the plants sprouted as expected, but even though the description says “works in any Aerogarden,” the baskets are a little too long for some of the holes in mine. There is a ridge underneath some of the holes, so these baskets only fit into the center three holes. I had to cut the sponge piece and put it into the old baskets I saved from prior plantings in order for them to sit correctly. They should amend their description from “works in any Aerogarden” to “works in some/most Aerogardens”.

2 small salads for 2 people twice a week
First, i will say that there is always one or two in (Any aerogarden pod package) that doesn’t seem to grow. That being said, These heirloom greens have lovely flavor. They produce enough to make side salads for us twice a week. I cut all the greens down to an inch or so, and in a few days, they have grown back tall enough to reharvest. I’ve been using these same 6 seed pods for about 6 weeks now, and i will probably need to start replacing a couple in a week or two. I like them enough that i have them on subscribe and save. If you are a side salad eater, i recommend these.

Low germination rate
Love my AeroGarden Sprout & Harvest. Germination rate on pods? Not so happy with that. The most recent order of 9 pods, only 6 of the nine have germinated after 10 days. Product indicates germination in 4 to 8 days. 60% seems to a poor rate for my $$. Would like to hear comment from the vendor.

I specify authentic because I’ve had troubles with knock-off Aero herb kits that all fall out of their labeled cones and then most never sprout. This lettuce kit—first non-herbs I’ve tried, but probably the 5th or 6th cycle of using the Aero garden—is perfect. Everything sprouted, all growing well and happy, and tastes delicious! So glad to have more motivation to eat salads while not wasting unused greens in the fridge. Two thumbs way up!

The last time I bought pods for the aerogarden was over 6 months ago. Yes, they regrow and last that long. I decided to finally finally switch out for something new and I saw growth within 2 weeks. Unfortunately there is always 1 or 2 pods that don’t produce.

Exceeded my expectations!
I could not believe how fast these salad greens produced! Our aerogarden is the perfect size for our countertop, and I can’t rave about it enough. I started off with petunia’s, and then when they sprouted I moved them outside and they held up beautifully (wish I had a pic). I made countless homemade salads from the amount of greens I clipped on a weekly basis. It’s very user friendly and a great value (definitely beat me having to go outside and water daily in this Texas heat 🥵). I will definitely be buying a different variety to try soon!

Don’t Buy! Worthless, Scam, Not as Advertised!
Do not buy this item.You may think to yourself This is a cute little cat for starting a garden. It’s all right there in place and all I have to do is plant a little pods and give it the little plant food it provides and I’m going to soon have my own garden. This is how they advertise it.NOT EVEN CLOSE.They will send you these little 2″ plastic spikes that you were supposed to plant. These plastic spikes are extraordinarily poorly made. Plus, they’re plastic. They are not biodegradable so your plants are stuck in these itsy bitsy pencil-wide planters which means they will die. Plus you’re literally putting massive amounts of plastic in your garden on purpose so that should be pretty self-explanatory. Because of how the little things are made you can’t wait until the plants sprout and then try to transfer them. They are stuck in there forever.They also didn’t package these very well. They throw in loose soil. Not compacted soil that will expand once watered. Loose soil. Yes those are open pieces of plastic with slits in the side and an open top that they throw loose soil in and then throw in a box. Yes you read that correctly. So of course the soil isn’t going to actually be in the planters when you receive them. You’re just going to get a box of splattered dirt and who knows if there’s actually a seed in there because you can’t find anything. Nothing is wrapped up or contained it’s just literally thrown in there.So now you have no dirt, probably no seeds, itty bitty plastic containers that will kill your plants and that are not biodegradable, but wait we’re not done!!On the listing they say that you can use it with your indoor or outdoor garden. However once you receive the product you were told that you can only use it with their $400 brand name indoor grower or they won’t sprout. Yup…So there you have it. They gave you a dollar worth of broken plastic, a half a cup of tossed soil, liquid plant food that will probably drain out before the plants can actually eat them, and not a single seed to be seen. This probably cost them about $2 to throw in a box and they are charging you that much for it.This is NOT what they advertise. This is not something where you can start in the pods and it’s easy gardening. It is an absolute scam of cheap material thrown in a box and they way way over charge you. There are plenty of other options out there and I suggest going with biodegradable planters or those little mini indoor greenhouses with the expandable dirt or any of those options because I have used them all and they are lovely. But this one is a piece of shit with cheap plastic that is not even worth a penny. The box it came in is where at least 10 times the product.Do not buy. Nobody on the planet should buy this ever. I cannot stress this enough. Of the hundreds upon hundreds of items I have purchased from Amazon I’m pretty sure that this is either the top set of items from this brand or possibly the second top that would ever recommend nobody buying. That’s how bad it is.I can only hope I have saved some other people theyir hard-earned money and time and frustration with this review.

Of the 9-pod set of salad greens, 7 of them sprouted and look great! 2 never sprouted….I’m very disappointed!

6 packs of the same lettuce
This is probably on me for not reading more carefully, but I didn’t realize this was 6 packs of the same lettuce. I thought it was a mix of 6 different types of salad greens. Wouldn’t have bought it if I understood.

Half the Pods Didn’t Germinate
I first planted 12 pods and only 7 out of 12 germinated. Waited 29 days before contacting customer support for Aerogarden germination guarantee. The process for claiming replacements for pods that didn’t germinate is terrible. I live in Puerto Rico, serviced by the USPS, and we are neither listed as a state or a country in order to input my mailing address. Also, they request you input the lot number for the pods that didn’t germinate but the Chives pod didn’t have a lot number printed on it and the Parris Island lettuce pod had a lot number that wasn’t recognized by them. Since they didn’t have lot numbers, they request you submit a picture of the pod in the Aerogarden but I had already replaced the ones that didn’t germinate! Also they request you move your planted Aerogarden to give them a model number located on the bottom of the machine. All in all, the replacement procedure is a complete hassle. I rated two stars because when it works its great but if you get duds the “guarantee” claiming process is horrible.
