Who are Yum Asia?

Sceptical at first but works great!
Shipped through Amazon.nl double boxed. European style detachable power cord.The Panda, although a plastic construction, does not feel flimsy in use, thanks to the rubberized feet sits firmly on your countertop.Bowl is made of some sort of ceramic material, the markings for water quantity are written in white, and are very easy to read.Easy to operate and clean.Rice cooking:Having used the Panda Mini for a good week now. I used it mostly for cooking one bowl of rice. I have tried Basmati, Thai Mali and brown rice, using the recommended factory guidelines and rice came out perfect. Haven’t experimented yet with the other functions like steaming, porridge, etc.The keep warm function works great as the rice is not burned or cold as compared to my aging “classic” rice cooker.As stated in my headline I was fairly skeptical regarding the computerized “fuzzy logic”, but the rice I cooked came out every time with the same consistency.The major advantage is the set it and forget it aspect, as you do not have to constantly monitor the rice cooker.

perfect for a 1-2 person household
There are 4 premium rice cooker technologies out there: fuzzy logic, advanced/neuro fuzzy logic, induction heating and flame dance induction heating (Japan only, €1000+).Zojirushi is seen as the best of the best in Japan and the same holds for the Cuckoo brand in South-Korea. However, zojirushi doesn’t really make rice cookers for the European market (220-230 volt). The only international models available are decades old and feature regular fuzzy logic. as Yum-Asia is the main importer of Zojirushi in Europe, they obviously saw a market opportunity. They collaborated with the manufacturers of Cuckoo to bring their own line of products to the European market. These are competitively priced and absolutely deliver.This model features the most advanced technology for small footprint rice cookers. Induction heating on a smaller footprint is not possible, since the induction rings are not manufactured for that size.The rice cooker handles all kinds of varieties with no scorching or burning whatsoever. The cooker is advertised as being able to keep the rice warm for up to 24 hours and I can personally attest that after even 12 hours there was no degradation in quality. This is great, as you can prepare your rice for dinner at any point of the say.

Werkt heel goed
Heel blij met deze aankoop. De rijst wordt perfect gekookt! Het enige nadeel vind ik dat de rijstkoker alleen voor de laatste 10 minuten een timer geeft. Je weet niet precies hoe lang hij bezig zal zijn in totaal. De warmhoudfunctie werkt ook super goed.

Kleine topper
Lekker klein apparaat wat gemakkelijk in de pannenlade past dus goed bereikbaar. Het resultaat voor zowel droge langkorrelrijst als plakkerige sushirijst zijn precies goed. En allemaal met super eenvoudige bediening.

Perfect rice cooker for 2 people
Its a compact rice cooker. Perfect for a small family . I have used it with 2 cups of rice and added chicken stock and a few veggies and the rice turns out perfect! I have used the long grain (Basmati), the quick cook and the porridge mode so far and its perfect every time. I used the porridge mode to make Indian Kichdi.Its easy to clean, The inner bowl is not to be placed in the dishwasher. The steamer basket is good for a small portion of vegetables/chicken. I still have to play around with the delayed start and the slow cook options to see if i can make some stews. I am not sure if the slow cook option can be used to get the claypot mode.I’m hoping there is a recipe that says how to use this with chicken or in the slow cook mode.

Werkt ook goed voor één persoon
Ik was op zoek naar een kleine rijstkoker, deze is perfect. Groter is niet nodig voor een normaal gezien, want je kan hiermee voor 5-6 personen rijst maken.En een halve cup voor één persoon werkt ook prima, dat is niet meteen duidelijk uit de omschrijving maar staat wel in de handleiding.Kookt de rijst altijd perfect, is vrij snel en makkelijk schoon te houden.

We like the Reishunger design better
We haven’t tried the article, but we compared It with the similar (same factory) Reishunger mini ricecooker and found that just to be a more cute design. Too bad the Panda doesn’t come with a few more color options. We found these colors a bit boring.Other than that, cute thing and more importantly: It cooks rice like a boss. In that regard I think there’s no difference between this Panda and the Reishunger clone.This is the perfect size for a family of 4. If you need more I’d look for a bigger size.If you like to steam stuff this one Is just too small. It will steam vegetable for maybe one person. You need a bigger cooker for that.Also I haven’t tried other cooking options because all we use It for Is cook (white) rice.We compared It with an Ariete Vintage looking ricecooker, which cooked rice terrible compared to this one or the Reishunger.Still feel the design could be more compact, considering how big the actual rice container is vs the outer body. In that regard I rather see a more compact design, even If that means the design isn’t as cute anymore.

Does what it says
I bought this as a replacement of my cheaper crock pot rice cooker. I am loving the results. I get much better rice than befor. So far I have no regrets. If this would break I would just buy another one. I m still playing with water ratio rice ratio. It’s easy to clean and important that you clean it well. Long grain rice takes about 40 minutes. Easy as can be
