Microsoft S Mode
Nowhere in the description does this tell you that you are an s mode s mode for Windows 11 means that you cannot use any apps except those that are verified in the Microsoft app store. You cannot even enter your reg edit because it is not a verified app in your Microsoft app store. So you got to spend a couple days trying to figure out how to get out of s mode so you can get into the pro mode. I wasted a lot of time to figure it out. That should be bolded in the description.

Low Memory; get what you pay for
We needed a cheap computer, but I wanted a cheap windows laptop and not a chromebook. That is exactly what this model is.Pros: has windows; connects to network and printer easily, usb and hdmi connections are available.Cons: The plastic and screen are bottom tier. It is incredibly light and feels like it can be easily broken. Do your research with the memory. Even though we don’t need a lot of storage for what this laptop is being used for it is still tight. The extra sd card storage is fairly pointless because you aren’t actually going to run programs off of it like you would a typical hardrive. Although it says there is 16gb of RAM it feels slower and clunkier than our older windows laptop with 8GB of ram. I would either spend an extra $200 on a better laptop or just get a chromebook were I given the choice again. We needed to purchase something quickly and I definitely regret my decision.

Died after 3-4 months.
I got this in early November, 2023. I needed something that wasn’t too expensive but had more than the basic 4gb of RAM. it arrived and seemed to be decent. The first thing I didn’t like is the internal solid state drive has enough capacity for the operating system and that’s about it. You can’t barely install any other software without the drive filling up. For what I needed at the time, it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience, but still not preferable. The speed was ok — better than the last one I had with only 4gb of RAM, that was so slow it was basically useless.Fast forward to February 18, 2024. It shows an error message that it needs to restart. Now it won’t start up at all. It tries to go into recovery but can’t fix itself. Thankfully I created a recovery drive shortly after I bought it but this is WAY too soon to be having to have to look at wiping a drive clean and reinstalling software. The return period, of course, expired two weeks ago, so I’m out of luck with probably a nice white paperweight. I’m not entirely thrilled. It may be a lower end, inexpensive (but still not the most basic model) laptop but it’s still hard earned money wasted on a product that lasted three months.It’s very likely I lost everything I had saved on the internal drive. I cannot recommend this. And if you do choose this — be sure to purchase a dedicated 64gb thumb drive and use it to make a recovery drive as soon as you get it.

I have used this laptop several times since I purchased it and have spent 2 hours on the phone with Microsoft and thought it was fixed but turned it on tonight and having the same issues. I guess another 2 hour call is needed but very disappointed that every time I try to use it that all I get is frustrated.

NOT A STREAMING LAPTOP
I bought this in the hope that I could finally use my capture card to do live streaming. Now I just have another laptop that is slow af trying to run/configure obs, streamlabs, and twitch studio. Heck, even videos on YouTube have to buffer, and my Dell that has only 8g of RAM plays videos better than this does. Highly disappointed.

I received lap top today but I also received ADATA shim 256GB shim card separately but there is no port to insert shim card on the lap top. How can I insert and where it should be inserted?

I should have read the description more carefully!
I saw a total of 320GB memory and thought, that’s plenty and the price is right. Figured it would be perfect for my wife, who would just use it for basic computing and online school. Most of the storage is on a 256 GB plastic thumb drive, worth about $20. Stil, I thought maybe we could live with it. After I set it up for her, I noticed that it was already using half the 57 GB of actual storage and aside from MS Office 365, I haven’t installed anything or saved a single document. I’d say by the time I add all the peripherals, it will be out of storage! Ridiculous and not worth the few bucks I saved. It’s being returned tomorrow. I gave it 3 stars because it is very lightweight and looks good and it’s partly my fault for not being more careful in reading about it’s features or lack of. One other thing, it is packed full of what are basically ads and solicitations to buy things that it doesn’t need.

Be aware….
Don’t like that Microsoft tries to lock you in to only using their apps, thru the Windows 11 “S” platform! Dump the “S” if you want to load your own non-MICROSOFT apps. As far as the HP computer is concerned, I have had more HP’s than I can remember and have never been disappointed. Can’t say that about other brands I’ve owned.

Bios error after 3 months
I purchased this laptop in August 2023. In December 2023 I woke up to a bios error message on the screen with instructions to restart which I did. After the restart I got nothing but a blank screen. I ended up contacting HP and sent the laptop to them. After 2 months was told the laptop had been modified by the seller. It was only made to handle 4 ram bios and was modified 16 ram bios. There was nothing they could do unless I paid $291 which was more than the laptop cost me. Lesson learned to onky but directly from HP. I’m out the laptop and the money it cost me to purchase it.

No glitches, just a very nice litte machine
I was a bit disappointed with no SD slot, but, that said after loading all that I wanted, I still lhave over 20G on the drive. I can run one putty, 2 Telnet sessions and GUI on a satellite dish, listen to music and it will still stream fine. For the price, what could be better. Same size as an iPAD 10.2 so both fit in a small leather carry.

Spent a full Saturday morning on the phone with the manufacturer
I was advised by the HP customer service representative that this model was running way too slow for a “New” model. Could not load the driver update. Just gave up after many hours and returned product. Did not exchange for new model as 1) I thought that was what I had purchased, and 2) did not want to waste another minute of my time trying to get this product to work as represented.

great computer so far… after I downloaded google chrome… Bing has too much advertising and I am just used to chrome… the only thing I hate that it doesn’t have a keypad. which is my fault for not realizing this, but I bought a wireless keypad, and it does the trick. keeping my fingers crossed that it runs as long as my windows 7!!!! ASUS computer did. (.almost 8 years)

Very happy with my purchase of this HP laptop. Very reasonable price. Quick shipping. Easy setup process. Fast application processing. simple keyboard layout, having bigger hands the layout feels natural while typing. The screen is clear, and the sound is great. Has 2 USB ports, 1 C-type port, 1 standard expandable SD card slot, and a 3.5mm aux outlet. The tracker is decent, I use a mouse mostly. No complaints so far very happy with this HP. At the time of purchase, I was offered same-day delivery and had it within hours.

Used this for email and creating files. The free Microsoft 365 and included Macafee took up way too much space and so many ads to buy upgrades. I had to contact HP customer service and eventually got everything figured out after MANY calls, chats and trouble shooting.I still like HP just not the over seas customer service.

SCAM – EXPENSIVE LESSON LEARNED
This laptop was apparently altered by the seller, voiding the HP warranty. According to HP, the specs do not match the serial number as manufactured by the company, and the processor is incompatible with the amount of RAM. It worked fairly well the first month or so, crashing only occasionally. By the second month, the operating system was corrupted to the point that the laptop crashes multiple times daily and is unusable. What a scam. I will not buy another computer from a third party as there is no way to guarantee that it’s a legitimate product.

This product was received July 10, 2023, it worked fine for a month. Then it would not start. When I took it in the warranty had been expired since Feb., 2022. I purchased this item new with a warranty. Someone HELP!

Speed
I was looking for a laptop that wouldn’t be too pricey and worked well. This laptop does the job. The only problem I have with it is the speed. It’s a bit slow for what I’m used to but I guess you pay for what you get… I had no laptop at the moment so I cannot really ask for much given the price and memory. At least it is decent looking, light weight, very comfortable keyboard, and gets the job done. That’s why I gave it a rating of 4 stars.

Don’t trust this seller
This product seemed like a good product. I was especially careful of it because it took time for me, a disabled person to afford it. I took painstaking care to make a good decision. 45 days after I received it, it suddenly did not work. I thought it was the battery package, and I even went to Best buy and shelled out more money (sixty some dollars) for a battery package. It wasn’t the problem.I notified the company and they said, sorry but you are WAY PAST the 30 day guarantee. Way past huh? by 15 days? Not too happy with them. I won’t buy from these people again, and this is the only bad review I have ever given anyone. EVER

keys are impossible to see on the pink laptop
it’s VERY light and easy to use and tote around as a result. it is, however, very slow. there was a lag on every command or window opening, such that i was already typing my next command and the windows were not even open yet which caused a lot of problems. i had to wait several seconds before typing which is totally abnormal for me. i removed the s-mode operating system and still. but it’s good enough to send emails and do the simplest work. it’s cute but it’s kind of like a toy. not necessarily a bad thing, but not for a workhorse. i returned it because i could absolutely NOT SEE THE KEYS on the pink model. there is no contrast so the lettering is nearly invisible even in good light. forget about dim light. also impossible to see if at any slight angle. that was the dealbreaker for me. i spent $100 more and got a refurbished thinkpad with insane specs.
