Definitely helps to have this, cuts down some mess
My cat sometimes jumps over this mat but most times he walks on it. The litter does drop down into the holes and stays inside the mat. It has definitely cut down on my cleaning routine. If your cat is a jerk that likes to send the cat litter flying outside the litter box while covering, this helps with that too. Pretty pricey mat.

Quality is dropping
This is the third mat I have purchased. The first two were 5 star, excellent. This latest mat is different. The size has changed slightly. The manufacturer has changed the construction by using lighter and cheaper materials. Also the assembly is not as good. The velcro doesn’t line up as well preventing a secure closing along the side. The mat is still good, just not the same quality of the older model.

Good quality
The quality is nice and comparable to the one at Target double the price. This one however comes folded and takes a solid week or longer to smooth out flat but after that it works perfect at keeping the mess contained.

My old cats love peeing on the rim of the catlitter box, or kicking litter outside of the box. This has been perfect. Easy to clean, east to pick up. And I don’t have to worry about urine getting onto my floor.

Some litter type is not easy to remove.
Finally got to use this product. The mat comes folded up so they will need one or two days to flatten out with a slightly heavy weight on top to flatten the mat. The Matt is very light and when I first put them next to the litter box my cats played with them by pushing the mat with their heads to get underneath the mats…..so mats will need something to hold them down like part of the litter box. Cats will easily move the mats with quick sudden moves. The other thing is if you use very fine cat litter once it’s inside the rubber mat and you put weight on the mat the litter sticks to the mat. It will not pour out the all the litter like in the video. The litter I use sticks to the mat and I have to insert my hand and remove the stuck litter so it will come off. The mats are good at catching litter and you can attach two of them using the velcro sides to make one large mat.

Does the job
Works fine for me. Cats don’t have a problem with it and they walk on it fine. It does move, but that’s expected. When you unpack it expect to turn it upside down with some weight on it to flatten the folds. Litter does get caught, so you won’t go wrong with this anyways.

It’s good
I have cat litter all over my house still. It traps some but not all. I purchased the biggest size. Fits well. I had a heavy box sitting on it for days to flatten it out. Next time I buy a thick fluffy rug again that I can wash in the washing machine. That works better for me.

Sick of f a k e reviews and chemical-smelling product.Ordered 2 initially, now 2 more. Was freaked out at first because when I opened the plastic I got a quick whiff of that all-too-familiar ammonia smell…BUT it only lasted a second upon opening. I was about to put it back in and send it right back, but it IMMEDIATELY stopped smelling like that AT ALL.Having read previous reviews, I immediately put them holes down on the rug & put 2 full 40lb boxes of litter on top for 24 hours to flatten them straight. They’ve been in use for a couple weeks now & I’m pretty shocked at how clean it keeps everything. No matter what kind of mats I used before, there was still a mess and something always went wrong (like it made them want to pee on it, litter would get stuck, hard to clean, etc).This is genius! Not TOO soft where it won’t work, but just about an exercise mat firmness (poss 1 step firmer?)…NOT “hard” as some have stated. All my cats at the moment are male, but they are the diva-est of all cats and if there were a problem they would indeed let me know, and have not. It is just the perfect firmness where it wouldn’t hurt their feet (or bother them at all), but just right to jar the litter off, which disappears into the holes.All you do is once in a while lift it up with the handles (both sides are open where the handles are) and dump the litter back into the box. I got the biggest one, because we have a couple “jumpers.” Don’t forget, only put the edge under the litterbox so you have the mat covering the biggest amount of space the cats step on (not wasting a lot of unused mat under the box). We have the “Modkat Flip” litter boxes (2 pack…another splurge that ended up being worth it, especially if you have a high pee-er) got those DIRECT from the company’s site), so it has super high sides and directs them out one way onto the big mat, which also helps.This is more than I’ve ever spent on litter mats (and got FOUR now) but never underestimate the value & happiness of being able to walk around without that litter grit on the floor. It is happiness!

Great litter mat for messy cats
I previously bought a single layer, “waterproof” mat for my cat’s box, and had limited luck. This mat is so much better, for several reasons.My female 6 year old cat is GREAT about using her box, so long as it’s cleaned regularly, and there isn’t litter on the ground. If too much litter falls out of the box from her activities, she’ll paw in it, and treat it like the inside of the litter box. She soaked the previous mat I had, and I was unable to get the urine smell out. The clumping litter was incredibly hard to vacuum out, and once it got wet, it was cemented in place.This mat is great- It fits (almost) the entire floor space on the closet where her box is, and it has deep pockets for the litter to fall in to. Since the litter doesn’t collect on the surface of the mat, she can’t paw it and treat it like her box. I was previously sweeping all of her litter that was scattered in to a dust pan with a small broom, and dumping it back in her box. This mat is easy to pick up, fold, and empty the litter back in.My only critique is the following: It would be great if they shipped it flat. However, I just put my cat’s box on top of the folds, and it seemed to flatten out just fine- I didn’t wait, or leave it in the sun, or anything like that.I keep her box in a coat closet, and just leave the door unlatched. She’s smart enough to open it when she needs “in”. I bought the larger mat, and was happy that I did.1 Week Update:My cat decided to “miss the box” and pee on the mat. It was very easy to take outside, hose off, and spray with some soap. I let it dry on my fence, and put it back in the closet later that afternoon. No smell retention, and it didn’t soak in to, or through the mat. She also hasn’t repeated the behavior since.This has cut down on 90% of the litter that’s tracked around my house. There’s still the occasional pebble on the coffee table from her jumping, but that’s about it. I’m seriously considering a second mat to keep as a “backup” in case the original needs to be cleaned again- it’s that good!

Good but not miraculous
The litter that gets trapped in the little holes is easy to put back into the litter box but it doesn’t eliminate the problem of litter getting scattered around the floor. If your cat is kind enough to wipe its feet upon leaving the box it will be perfect for you, and I think the texture does help to clean some of the litter off their paws regardless. But if you have a fur baby like mine, who likes to dart out of the litter box like it’s on fire, its feet will hardly touch the mat and you will still have to clean the floor regularly. Still, it does as good a job on that front as any other floor covering would do and it is easier to pour the stray litter back into the box than if you were just using a throw rug or something similar.

I bought this so I don’t have to sweep up kitty litter in the laundry room where her litter box is unfortunately the cat is smarter than I because when I put the mat in front of the litter box when she’s done she jumps over the mat hopefully after a month or two she’ll step on it

A bit small, larger mat would provide more “steps” for cat to take and capture more litter. Cordless vacuum works well cleaning out collected litter to avoid picking up and shaking into garbage receptacle

Works great for catching litter, but our cat absolutely HATES it
I’m honestly only giving it 4 stars because I feel like our cat’s opinion of it matters too. It works well as far as catching litter, although it is a little bit difficult to pour the litter out of it without pouring it everywhere. However, our cat has a vendetta against this thing. I don’t know if the honeycomb design hurts his paws, or maybe he’s just mad that he can’t scatter litter everywhere, but he is set out to destroy this mat. It does a good job of holding the litter though when he does leave it alone, and it’s held up pretty well to his destruction.

OMG where has this been??
Due to a house fire last year I’m in an efficiency with my 3 fur baby’s who are sharing one litter box that lives in the tub (I keep it very clean for them). But man the litter was going EVERYWHERE! Mostly all over the tub itself, plus the bathroom floor and rug but it was a constant battle sweeping mopping, cleaning out the tub to shower etc. This mat changed everything! After a week, there is no litter (or a tiny bit) off of this mat. Every day when I scoop I just pour the splatter back into the box. It’s GREAT!I may buy another one for just outside of the tub where they exit too.Someone was complaining about it being folded in shipping and getting the crease out. I set it outside in the sun for 15 minutes and then stuck it between my mattress and box spring overnight, flat as a pancake.SO worth the money for apartment cats!

You need it!
This does a fantastic job of catching litter from my precious cats disgusting little feet. It’s held up very well in a high (cat) traffic area and it’s been fantastic. It’s waterproof or resistant at least, keeps your floors dry and safe. I cleaned it after a month or so by spraying it with and all purpose cleaner and hosing it down, let it dry and it looks good as new. It didn’t look overly dirty in s month but I wanted to test some cleaning methods so when it’s time to clean I know what to do! I had been vacuuming up litter tracks and I feel like that will damage the vacuum over time, plus is kinda gross to track that through the rest of the house. This has been fantastic to just dump out when I clean the box daily. It does not stick to the floor, so you may need something to tack it down or it will slip slide around!

Loved the first one, sent back the second one
I first ordered this item a month ago and enjoyed it after using it. I found it so good that I ordered the second one. However, upon arriving the second one had an odor like it had been used that was wrapped up as new. This was not an odor like new plastic, but an odor like used by a litter box area so I question the second one but thoroughly enjoyed the first one and still am enjoying the first one

Life saver !
It works ! I’m so happy I finally found something to help with the litter tracking problem. It was driving me bananas. My little lady LOVES to dig and I’m sure if you’re in the market for one of these, your friend probably does as well. It is a bit stinky when you take it out of packaging. Kinda smells like bleach but just air it out for a bit and the smell goes away. The mat does lay flat as well. You just need to follow the instructions and be patient. Stoked to walk around my loft without feeling litter under my feet. I’m too busy to sweep three times a day. If you’re thinking about buying, do it! I purchased the biggest size, which isn’t very big. I would recommend if vs the smaller size if you’re having litter tracking issues. If this mat was any smaller, it wouldn’t work.

Quality mat good for long term use
When it first comes, it will be creased because it packs folded so it will take about a week to settle down. I’m on my second one. My previous cat passed away so I replaced it when we got new kittens.While it’s meant to collect litter (and it does) one of the nice things was that it worked well for collecting actual urine. My cat lived to be 20 so would sometimes miss the litterbox as she got older and hit the mat instead. It caught everything and could be easily emptied and washed down whenever it happened. This was the reason we had to change it for the new cats, though, as they could smell our previous cat. Otherwise there was nothing wrong with it and still in great condition after several years.

This mat changed our lives…
We’ve tried other mats and methods for reducing the litter being tracked into the rest of the house but nothing works like this.We used to have a litter box with a screen on top so the litter would drop back in. We used a counter cabinet to keep it in, and then forced our two cats to walk around a divider onto one of those mesh mats that you can get at PetsMart (which are insanely expensive). Even with this setup, the mats would get clogged or wouldn’t capture the litter so it would be tracked out of the laundry room, and into one of our main hallways. This drove us nuts! We’d even occasionally find a few pieces on our bedspread.This mat not only allows the litter to come off paws by (kind of) spreading their paws over the large holes but the mat can also hold a lot of litter, so it doesn’t allow the paws to pick up litter again like the mesh mats.And cleaning is easy. I simply pick the mat up (which allows the top and bottom to separate some) and let it funnel directly onto our Litter Robot steps. I then dump the litter from the mat and steps back into the Litter Robot.In my opinion, don’t mess around with the smaller version of this mat since cats can jump over it. The larger 32×35 is what we ordered and it can’t easily be avoided. This mat reduced the amount of litter in our hallways by 98%.The picture shows a days worth of litter from two cats. The mats hold so much, I could easily go a five days without dumping it.When you get your mat, be aware that it will be folded. Since the rubber is neoprene-like, allow it to open slowly and lay flat vs. just bending it straight. I used a blow drier to warm it up to speed up the process.Again, this mat changed our lives as we rarely see litter in the house anymore. Best $23 I’ve spent in an awful long time! 😉

Keeps litter from tracking all over
Deep holes and spongy feel make this mat a great addition for litter box. The ability to trap the litter, collect it and return it to the box without touching it is important too. I bought 2 and they work well. I suggest adding a piece of “Slip Stop” under to keep the pads in place, as Kitty sometimes Sprints away from the box. 😂

Caution: CHOKING/STRANGULATION HAZARD
This pad works great at containing litter, but be careful. The handles can pose a choking/strangulation hazard for young kittens. My kitten loved playing with them and thankfully, I was there when he flipped over, wrapping the handle around his neck. I cut them off and the pad still works as designed.

Amazing Product
Out of all the cat litter mats I have used over the years, this one is my favorite. The litter gets trapped in the mat, and I vacuum up what is trapped in the mat. Unfortunately, this mat does not trap all of the litter. I buy the silica gel litter. So, the litter is everywhere else in my home. 🤷♀️ But, maintaining the area for my cat to use her restroom has been so much easier for me!

Catches All Litter
We were having problems with our kitten tracking litter across the floor. Once we purchased this mat, we have not had any issues. All litter comes off of his paws and gets trapped in the mat. Would recommend.

Endlessly entertaining to my cat
I haven’t yet needed to dump out any litter- initially when I put the mat outside her litter box, she’d jump over it when getting out. She doesn’t do that anymore, but I guess the Hard Ball litter doesn’t track much- she does tend to fling litter when covering up her bathroom results, so maybe it will help if she gets a lot outside the box. All of that being said, however, she loves playing with this thing and it provides endless entertainment for her. She’ll run up and thrust her front legs under it, then jump and flop on her side and kick at it with her back feet. Since it’s kind of stiff, she’ll make it flap up and down while she bats at it. It’s hilarious

I love that it really does seem to control the litter better. Larger openings so more litter will get trapped. Easy to dump the litter and clean. Only downside is it’s not real soft for the kitties paws.

I purchased 3 of the largest of the mats in December 20222. I love them. They do exactly what they say they will do. After opening the package, I had to put them under one of my heavy floor rugs and leave them there for about a week to flatten them out. As others have said, that is my only complaint on them. I have a 17 year old cat & he sometimes misses the box & he gets litter all over. I just pour the litter back in the box. They are pretty easy to scrub with hot soap and water also. Just hang to dry. I highly recommend these mats.

No more mess!
Wish I found this years ago! Bought the largest size and have gone from sweeping excess litter daily to picking up the mat once a week and dumping the excess back in the box. Both ends open, which seems like no big deal- wrong! I also bought a smaller mat similar to this one, but only one end opens. Half of the time I grab the wrong end to slide litter back into the box which just makes a mess, because the holes in the mat are large and most of the litter escapes to the ground before I can turn it around. The smaller size looks nicer but is worthless- if the cats can avoid using it, they will.

Not Impressed
FIrst like all complaints it comes Folded and even with their provided directions it takes awhile to Unfold and still has creases. I won’t elaborate there.. The smell was horrible as well i was dissapointed to not be able to instantly use the thing.My biggest complaint.. its HARD its NOT soft to walk on at all so I’m glad I didn’t get it for my back door where the boxes downstairs are this was for the carpet upstairs.. but if i don’t like the feel how do i expect my cats to like it.. Cat paws are very sensitive even with its “rounded ” honeycombs its not soft or comfy feeling at all.. Wish the cats could tell me there thoughts.. or maybe they did when they Peed on it.So i couldn’t dump my litter back into the box easily the creases were an issue and the fact the cats peed on it it ran down and i didn’t want to chance dumping the pee on the carpet.. so i took outside to hose off.. the velcro seems cheap honestly.. the pee got into the velcro so i’m sure thats going to stink if not treated properly.. the velco isn’t flat on the mat its only attached at the edge so the pee ran under it and required and extra hand to clean it out.As for the size there are much larger ones out there.. I expected this one to be a little bigger in fact i had to measue it to make sure i got the right size LOL.. i would recomend measuring it out on your floor to make sure its going to work for you.I really loved the idea of the litter falling through the mat since I am tired of ruining carpet with litter that tracks and spills when cleaning the box , the other mats they catch it but doesn’t drop it so it can still run off to the carpet .. I cannot use a traditional Carpet rug cause wellthe cats seem to think they are litter boxes and pee on them too LOL. Right now I don’t know what my solution will be but i’ll give this mat a little longer of a go around but likely its goin to go back.. I don’t know if other brands are a bit softer then this or not i would welcome feedback..THe only reason i gave it 3 stars instead of 1 is that it traps the litter and it falls through quickly.

I bought for litter-from-paws capturing. What I like is it does capture a lot. Maybe 80%. Truly anything intended for this kind of mess would need to be covering a lot more of my floor area to get it all. (If you know litter, you KNOW!)What I am kinda unpleased about is that after a month of having it unfolded (it comes quarter-folded and seems perma-bent), it STILL isn’t laying flat. And the first week I had it unfolded, and with heavy blocks covering the entire mat. The slight lift off floor is a wee bit too easy to trip on (it’s in our laundry room area).It’s okay to empty. A bit big… Because I can, I walk it to our woodline. It’s too hard for me to be neat about it.But I think I still prefer the rag rugs we’ve used … But this would be very helpful if you had any wet matter outside the litter box. I like to be able to throw rugs into washer weekly.Anyway, I would suggest it, but I am not repeating on our other 3 boxes.

So far works great.
It seems like it’s helping some. Not as much as I’d like but you know how cat litter is. Might as well make the whole house out of this mat.My only annoyance is that it comes folded in half and it’s really hard to get the center crease out. The packaging recommends leaving it out flat with something heavy on top for 48 hours but I live in a studio and don’t really have room for that, so maybe that would’ve worked.My cat is sensitive to the stability of the surfaces she’s standing on so she was a little skeptical of the texture at first but that went away and now it’s no problem.

Awesome litter mat.. best around
I really love this litter mat. What an ingenious idea to have a two layer matt into which litter falls and is contained! No more messy floors with cat litter spread out all over the place. This is so cool. So the cat litter Falls between the honeycomb mesh when the cat steps out of the litter box. This keeps it from being tracked all over your floor. When you want to clean the mat, you folded in half so you don’t spill the litter, carry it to your trash can and simply dump it into the trash can. I have had other kitty litter mats that are a one layer, tightly woven mesh type that are designed to keep the litter from being tracked everywhere. They work well, to a point. They only help contain the majority of the kitty litter they don’t contain it all-some litter gets tracked on the surrounding floor. Then there is the cleanup of the old type of mat. You can never get them completely clean. A lot of litter always remains embedded in the matt regardless of how much shaking out of the rug you do or how much vacuuming you do. Its not sanitary. With this kitty litter mat that I just bought you do not have any litter being tracked outside of the mat and you do not have any residual kitty litter left in or on the mat after dumping it out. Anyone with a cat needs to get this mat!!

Clean
Helps to keep litterbox area cleaner. Great. Pad filters and puts litter in a bag below. It is similar to a pillow case with a filter on top. Waste stays in litterbox. Just empty. Very easy.
