Excellent product
Had horrendous cloudy water in small 54 litre tank, never had it before in any other tanks before, changed everything except the fish and the tank itself, 😞 was going to stop keeping fish as I could find no cure for the cloudy water and my confidence was in my boots, aquasafe was on special and I bought it, not had cloudy water since.

Fishies love it, probably.
My little swimmy mates love this stuff. It doesn’t kill them, it’s blue and it’s made of wet stuff – and that’s about all I know about it.Honestly, I’ve no clue as to what it does. I had a bottle come in a kit I got years ago and ever since then I’ve used it. I’ve also not used it when I’ve run out and the tank needed to be cleaned and, guess what, absolutely nothing happened. I usually buy a bottle every six months or so and all I can tell you for sure is that it doesn’t taste very nice, and it’s blue. Crack on, buy it if you like, or don’t, your fish won’t care either way.

does the slime coat element in this contain amines as this could render purigen useless, may even kill my fish
Would recomment “BARGAIN PET SUPPLIES” as a supplier for this product. Kordian from Bargain Pet Supplies is a sincere trader who was so helpful in responding to my enquiry which I beleive will help all future buyers and present users of this product. Thank you Kordian @ BARGAIN PET SUPPLIES for this reply;Dear Deepak, I thank you for your patience. Your query had to be forwarded to Tetra’s lab and that’s what took so long. To keep things short – Aquasafe does not contain amines, however I know that PVP has the similar effect as amines – it creates chloramines when contacted with Purigen and hampers Purigens regenerative properties, so I asked about PVP as well. It turns out they do use PVP as a part of it’s stress coat.To sum it up: you can use Aquasafe but it would have to be done outside of your main tank where Purigen is or take out Purigen before using Aquasafe and put it back after 24-48 hours. Please let me know if you want to return the product and I will provide you with our return address. If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards, Kordian ; “Bargain Pet Supplies”My question To Bargain Pet Supplies and all users of this products was ;Many thanks for your prompt delivery. I have left a positive feedback with your company name mentioned, hope it helps! However I have received the bottle with all foreign instructions and a small sticker with English which can be hardly read. Please can you research and advise; I use seachem purigen filter media; does the slime coat element in this contain amines as this could render purigen useless, may even kill my fish?If I use a water conditioner containing amines,my regenerated Purigen it will make it toxic and kill my fish. Please confirm with manufacturer and advise as I may need to return this it it does contain Amines.”Bargain Pet Supplies” replied very promptly to above;Dear Deepak, Thank you for contacting us, your feedback is greatly appreciated.According to my knowledge Aquasafe will not have any negative influence on your Purigen but just to stay on the safe side I will contact our Tetra representative first thing in the morning and will get back to you ASAP.PS We are working on bigger stickers and should implement them soon.Kind regards,KordianSo here goes another very satisfied customer of such a VALUE FOR MONEY produc by TETRA…..Hope this helps..Deepak

It says plants too?
Uff, bought it for my plants to get rid of chemicals in the tap water. Can’t measure anything, like 5ml on 10l, but I have 1l bowl, so is it like 2 drops or what? Yeah, lazy me should have just walked to the backyard to get the rainwater. I think I added too much to my 1l bowl, cause the water turned blue and didn’t become clear. Only watered the spider plant, so when and if it dies, I’ll update my review. 🙂

I am not one to waste aquatic supplies if at all possible
I currently have eighteen tanks of my own that get weekly water changes. For the past several years I have used only Start Right by Jungle Labs in my tanks because it is the cheapest conditioner that meets all of my specifications.I also clean other people’s aquariums, and on occasion my customers will move and be unable to take their aquariums with them, for two different customers the answer lay in giving me the aquariums and all their fish and equipment. One of these customers had a fresh bottle of Aquasafe, the conditioner she used for her partial water changes on the weeks I didn’t vacuum her gravel. I am not one to waste aquatic supplies if at all possible, so I stuck the bottle in the drawer with all the things for my downstairs tank and started using it, keeping Start Right in the upstairs tanks. At the time I started using the Aquasafe, Start Right had no additives in it for enhancing a fish’s slime coat (it has since been added), which is very nice if you have recently netted or picked-on fish. Aquasafe has aloe to enhance the slime coat, and so I quickly fell in love with it. My downstairs tank is the one all visitors see, and the one my young son has access to. While the gouramis in that tank are pretty tough troopers, I still do everything I can to pamper them in the slightly more stressful setting than the isolated upstairs fish have, and they do seem to appreciate this new conditioner. It is important to remember that a water conditioner makes water safe for fish, but that does NOT mean that a tank is ready to be inhabited directly after filling and conditioning that tank. Most fish deaths occur through a misunderstanding or complete ignorance of the cycling a tank must go through. A tank, when first set up, has nothing in it to break down the ammonia from a fish’s waste. The bacteria that does that job takes time to get in the tank, and until then there should be either no fish in it or frequent partial water changes to keep ammonia levels down. When setting up a tank the water conditioner must be in the water before the cycling process can begin, as all the things that are harmful to fish are also harmful to the bacteria the fish need in the tank. Follow the dosage on the back of the bottle when filling the tank, and when doing partial water changes you need only put the amount of water conditioner in for the new water, not the entire tank capacity.Since I started using Aquasafe in my own tanks I have also offered it to my customers at a slight additional charge and a large percentage have chosen to pay that in order to have Aquasafe in their tanks.Aquasafe comes in a screw-top bottle, it is available in most Wal-Marts in both 3.3 ounce and 8.4 ounce bottles. I buy the 8.4 ounce bottle for $5.64 and it treats 500 gallons. I have not seen any conclusive evidence that Aquasafe is better than my old stand-by, Start Right, but it is obvious that it does the job it is supposed to do and is reasonably priced, so well worth purchasing for your routine fish care. If you’d like to get a higher quality conditioner than this one, Stress Coat and Seachem Prime are the usual favorites for aquatic professionals, though their price reflects that reputation. In short, Aquasafe will get the job done at a pretty good price and the product stands by the manufacturers claims.Note: this product is approved for use with both saltwater and freshwater fish. My opinion reflects its use with freshwater fish only as I have no experience with saltwater fish

Great
Always have used this product in the past, just started to get back into fishkeeping. Only reason I have given 4* is I chose this one from Amazon, instead of the other ones on site as the packaging showed English in pics, but when arrived it was foreign, they also have other listings for the foreign one which are cheaper so feel slightly ripped off.

Best product for tropical aquariums
I swear by this stuff, been using it since I got my tank and fish. Lots of happy healthy fishies 🙂 only thing I’d like is if there was a lil measuring line in the lid aswel, to make it easier to measure as I lose my place on the side guidelines quite alot lol

Does exactly what it claims
I have used Tetra products for 50 years of fishkeeping, never use any other brand. This is a safe easy way to neutralise chlorine and chloramine quickly. I treated the water filling my new aquarium, added Tetra Safe Bacteria, tests done with Tetra test strips, everything up and running with no issues at all, 6 small fish added on day 2 using this combination, tests all good for last 7 days!

Great item unfortunate with delivery
I was going for holidays when I realised I no longer have this in supply. Local fish shop charges around £11 and it’s a few minutes away. Since I was buying other stuff I decided to add this to save time. There was a dispatch email the night before however the following morning I got another notification that item won’t be delivered that day. No reason mentioned. Status only specified that I will be emailed as soon as possible. So I ended up going out and purchasing another bottle cos the item actually arrived a few days too late. Other than that I think it’s a good product. I am an amateur fish owner but they seem to be alive still so.
