Very nice until one just failed – but vendor has responded!

I’ve been warned not to waste my $ on solar lighting and I guess I need to listen. These were very nice until they weren’t. One just suddenly stopped working in about8 months. Totally dead. I changed the battery, and tried all the other help tips. There’s an 888 number to call, but it seems to be a random number with an answering machine attached to it, so I have no idea who it belongs to. I can’t use 7 lights on my walk way. What a waste of money……Good news is that the vendor did see my review and has reached out to send me new lights. The owner of this small business has been very gracious. I am hoping she will follow through. 🤞

Missing one..

Opened the box up and started putting them together. Got to the end and noticed I had one stick but no light for it. I ended up only getting 7 lights and 8 post. Tried to contact seller. Website wouldn’t work for me & phone number went straight to voice mail :-/They are really cute and the 7 I do have, work good. I had to change up what I bought them for I was planning on 8 but it’s whatever I guess. I don’t feel like dealing with all of that mess.If you get them, just count them before you put them all together haha

Yard solar panels

I have a two car driveway and eight solar lights for on each side and they’re pretty bright because they put out enough light is it dimly but it almost covers the whole driveway they’re awesome. Just need to clean the solar panels once a week and after it rains, empty out what waters in the little cup thing, they say it’s waterproof but it hasn’t shorted out the solar panels so maybe that’s what waterproof don’t know they’re still working. I’ve had them for about two months.

These are bright pathway lights and have a gorgeous pattern but one of them didn’t function after properly setting up and allowing to charge for a full day. It just wouldn’t turn on. I reached out to the seller about this and they wanted to refund me for ONE of the lights. When I expressed that I just wanted a working set and I’d be happy to return the defective set, they stopped responding. Won’t be buying any other items from this seller unless this is handled properly.Update: the seller reached out after my leaving 2 stars and sent another set of lights out free of charge. All of the lights in the replacement set work as they should (so far). They did ask me to update my review once I received the new set which I believe they asked many of the other reviewers, which is why this is so highly rated. Although I appreciate the new set they sent out free of charge, if I’d known it was going to be such a hassle I would’ve ordered from another seller. All in all, the lights are gorgeous though.

short life span (less than a year)

Although I looked through the options here on Amazon carefully and read many customer reviews prior to purchasing, I ended up disappointed. These were purchased in June 2021 and before their 1st full year of usage – they are dying one by one. In first few months, they performed as expected (we weren’t looking for overly bright lights – just soft glow which these provided). They managed to make it through rain (hard rain) and still functioned. Now at just prior to being a year old, they are dying. This isn’t a battery issue rather the light fixture itself. I have to agree with others that this is a costly purchase for a set with less than a year’s working value. If they are going to function cheaply, I should wish I had paid less. Buy another brand!update: After posting this review, SolPex customer service reached out to me (still attempting to find out how a seller obtained my email through Amazon as Amazon swears they near give out customer information – yet my private account email was used by an outside source??). They offered to refund or replace my lights even thought they were just over a year old (after they made sure that I had charged them correctly and replaced with new recharge batteries). They did want me to correct my review once they contacted me and I stated not prior to actually completing a transaction with them. We choose to receive a new set (as we did like the lights – just expensive choice that went bad to quickly for the price!). We received a new set pretty quickly once we made decision. Again I was asked to improve my star rating and review. At this time I have updated to 4 stars (from 2) based on their customer service response. I still can’t speak to the product over time – new set has just been installed and all are operational – time will tell if they have a longer lifespan than the prior set.

Works great for the affordable cost

I bought two packs of these to add some mood lighting to our backyard walkways. The install/set up was incredibly easy. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the brightness. I wish they were a bit brighter, but overall, the quality for the cost is great. I would definitely purchase these again!

Sturdy plastic, nice light pattern, happy customer

I like solar lights. I don’t wanna spend a lot of money on them as quite frequently one or more break …. possibly a friend kicks one over getting out of the car, some go missing, or the neighbor hauls the trashcan over it. What usually breaks is the pole / shaft. Being most of the time (as here the case) just made out of simple plastic, that does not surprise me. I had aluminum ones and here I saved some buy re-shaping the dented material, but it also sheared right through once. Oh well, it happens, and I still prefer plastic. These lights have a decent brightness output (I bought the cool white), not stellar, but up to par with my other 3 sets of different makes. Not sure if over time the clear translucent plastic will get yellowish discolored (I had that happen on another set after about 2 years they were yellow and dim), but out of the box they look stylish and not flimsy at all. I am pleasantly surprised! Assembly is as usual extremely simple, simply stick the shaft on the shade part, pull plastic tab from the battery compartment, and anchor the top to the shade with a small twist, done … just don’t forget to flip the switch beside the battery compartment to ON. I like symmetry so the light pattern was the real reason for me to buy these lights and I am very happy I did. Would I wish these lights were closer to $30 than $45, absolutely. Other than that I have absolutely no complaints and given that I might break some, they are definitely still on my shopping list for extras!

They look great when working. Mine stayed lit all night the first 2 nights now they’re on a few hours at best. Not sure if it’s the batteries inside that suck or what. They’re in full sun all day.

I’ve had these lights 6 months. Two of them already stopped working, and no, they are not in the shade. They are in direct sunlight for 9+ hours. The solar cell on the top (pictured) has hazed over on all of them making charging almost useless since the sunlight doesn’t hit the photocells to charge the battery. The lights aren’t bright even with a full charge and new. I’d advise anyone looking at these to look at other options as these lights don’t make the cut. I’ve used many other sets of lights throughout the years and these are by far the worst.UPDATE- I’ve updated my review. Customer service has been great. They issued a refund and sent me a new set of lights to try out. I will update my review again once I’ve had the new set of lights for a few months. Good job, customer service.

It is an amazing product

Excellent Solar Lights for Landscape

Received my lights today. Lights were well packed and protected for shipment. The lights replace five old solar lights in my landscape garden which were broken or hardly turned on because of their age. The new lights were very easy to activate and install. There is an on-off switch that needs to be turned on. The lights are sturdy and give off a bright light. I’m very happy with the product.

Exactly what I was looking for!

Was looking for a set of cool white solar lights for garden and steps since it seems like they only sell the warm white (yellow tint) in stores. Bright lights if you need something ‘cheap and cheerful’

My son have behavioral issues and broke/shattered all but two of our nice metal and glass lights. His behavior is much better now but before taking the risk of buying the expensive ones again i thought I’d try these out. They’re smaller than I expected, but look great and work great. You’d have to look closely to see that they were plastic.

Look great- when they work

Update*** the sellers reached out to me and sent me a whole new set of lights, free of charge. 5/5 for customer serviceThese are really nice looking lights but they are brand new and one of the lights is already not working. I will play with it and it will turn on then 2 seconds later it goes off. Really frustrating because of how good they do look.

Parts missing

Upon unpacking the lights I realized that 4 poles and 4 spikes were missing. The box was completely sealed so they must have been shorted during the original packaging. Attractive addition to my yard

Initially I thought these lights might be defective as not all came on with the same degree of brightness and stayed on the same length of time. In fact, after about 3 hours, one (the same each night) went off completely Concerned about that, I contacted Solpex via email regarding the issue. The very next day I received a response from Lexie, a member of the Solpex Service Team. She was very helpful, provided a few tips for optimum performance, and invited me to get back in touch if further problems. I’m pleased to say that after a few days, all lights now come on regularly and are still lit when we go to bed several hours later. They are attractive and definitely add to the landscaped bed where we have placed them. I recommend the product and would buy again. I’m particularly impressed with the customer service Lexie provided!

Decently bright, easy to install, works well (given it has a lot of sunlight)

First thing I will say about these is to keep the solar panels clean. I would say clean it at least once every two weeks or so. It keeps the material from degrading which kills the solar charge. This solar lights has a pretty nice pattern to it. It gives a really nice white but calm look to my yard. It is just as bright as many other garden lamps but it still has the same flaw in that the top can be cracked than it will expose the solar panels to water. That being said, it would be hard to actually break the cover of the solar panel. I would also just put this where you get plenty of sun. If you are only getting 1-3 hours of sun, you are not going to be having lights throughout most of the night. In terms of lighting, these definitely bring a better lighting to my front and back yard. I can actually walk out into my backyard without having to turn my lights on. One thing to note is that these are a bit easy to pick up off the ground and can be stolen easily. It comes with eight lamps which can be perfect for a small garden or a walk way. I actually prefer to use it in my backyard walkway. The simple look blends in well with my backyard really well and it would look great in the front yard as well. One big thing is that before you put the stakes into the ground first because it is harder to get the stake and this device in together at once. I would recommend putting water into the ground to loosen the dirt and then just hammer it it. After that you will place the lamp on and you are down. Please note there is a switch on the device as well that needs to be flipped to the on position or they would not turn on. These do use solar power to stay charged before the night so again be sure it is facing a good amount of sun in order to have the lights have enough power. To be honest, the lights really only last about four hours on a good night so do not expect them to be powered on the whole night unfortunately. It drains a lot of power throughout the night which is why I suggest you have this facing as much sun as possible. The more the better for sure. The solar lights are great however the tips at the bottom can be broken if you hit it do hard so do not force them in. Just tap into loosen soil and twist. Do not worry these are weather proof so it will be okay in a bit of mud or dirt unless the plastic top is cracked. I would say after a rainy day to check the panels to wipe them down and such. If any water gets inside, the light fixture will either stop charging or be very slow at charging. The lights have light sensors so they will shut off during the day. Once they are installed they look great. I really like how it can create a path for the front or back yard. It is absolutely beautiful, You definitely will love these. They give a different feel to your yard. It also is a nice way of saving power if you are walking out to your backyard on the early nights. One thing to be aware is that the battery takes time to charge so more sun the better.

Seller is great to work with. Has the customer’s best interest in mind!

UPDATE: Seller reached out after seeing my review and offered to send a replacement set of lights to us free of charge or a refund. We chose a replacement as we bought these lights because we loved them when we put them in my parents’ house. Hoping this net set will work like the ones in my parents’ house!I ordered these for my parents’ house a while back and I was obsessed. They were great! Lit up the whole walkway and stayed on all night. So naturally when my husband and I moved into our townhome I knew what pathway lights I NEEDED to have. Despite them being in direct sunlight they last maybe 2 hours if that and these aren’t bright at all. Very dissatisfied.

UPDATE:Seller was quite responsive after seeing my review and sent me a new light kit free of charge so hopefully all will be good this time! I would caution you on purchasing these solar lights. They are pretty when they are lit, but unfortunately this is hit and miss. Even when I’ve literally had them taking in the sun all day several won’t light up at night. Frustrating. Nice price but poor quality in my opinion!

Happy with my Purchase

The lights were, were easy to install, all worked, and delivered in a timely manner. Based on a product I had before, I had expected them to illumonate a larger area, but they do serve their purpose and look great on my walkway during the day and night.

These lights are beautiful. Otherwise I would have returned them right away. They have an on/off switch that randomly goes off. One day all the lights work and the next only a few work. I played with these for a month then contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer sent another set. This set works fine. Possible battery issue.

UPDATE – The seller reached out to me to fix the issue. The customer service department was easy to work with. I adjusted my original rating to reflect this. The working lights are still working well even after a all day rain storm and cold weather.Original post-No way to contact seller. One is defective. I will change my review if contacted by seller.

Do not stay in on position

Every night half of these need to have the on off reset even though there was lots of sunlight. Very disappointed in this purchase. What is the use of them if I have to switch to on each night?

The vendors contacted us and made it right.

Out of the box two didn’t work, and after 10 hours in direct Arizona sunlight, they don’t have a bright light. Wouldn’t recommend these to anyone.PS: The vendors contacted us and replaced the lights. They seemed to be real concerned about our satisfaction and replaced all that did not work.Upon the action that they took. I’m satisfied with doing future business with them.

Batteries not very good

Come on very bright but don’t seem to last too long even in sun most of the day. At first they lasted till morning but after a week or so they last about 4 hrs. Pretty when lit though.. update.. Had to change all batteries that came with lights.. Now they work

These lights work well and are super easy to install

I have ordered this product twice. First for my daughter’s house at school in Pittsburgh to light up her very dark backyard. They worked so well and so easy to install that I ordered them for our house at home (see picture). Provides a cool light pattern to our front entry sidewalk. As long as they get enough sun during the day, they shine bright at night. I would recommend this product.

When they work, they look nice.

So for the first week they were great. Then they started to not turn on. If you turned them off and back on, they would work for a time. Started with one and now it happens with 5 of them.I am going to pop the rechargeable batteries out, apply some dielectric grease and see if this corrects the issue.Update: 5-16-2023The dielectric grease solves all the issues with the lights not staying on. Was contacted by the seller and they are sending some new lights for the issue, so a top-notch seller with great customer service.

Not bad for the price, but not going to last a lifetime

I wanted something that looked simple and not over-designed, these look nice and light the path as pictured. The lights still operate after 1.5 years, and they do fine even on fairly overcast days. The stakes, however, kinda suck and didn’t last long. Nobody’s walking over them or anything that I’d expect to risk knocking them down, but I’ve had a few fall over and break. They could be longer or maybe a bit of a different shape? But they lasted longer than I expected and still keep folks from tripping in the dark, good enough for me.
