Amazing product if you know what you’re doing

Some of the other reviews on here really bothered me.This is an AWESOME product! It’s easy to use, it’s insanely convenient to get in a pinch because of the fast shipping, fish generally gravitate toward it, and it does not cloud the water. I purchased it yesterday for my shoal of baby pea puffers. They’re notorious for being picky eaters and this is the 5th food (1st preserved) that I’ve tried. So far, so good. I also feed live food and frozen, but this is proving to be a hit with some of the skinnier baby peas. On that note, this is an easy food to mix in with some dewormer if that’s something that comes up.Now, to address the mistakes in others’ reviews.1. No, this is not a live product. The description literally says, “non-living brine shrimp.” Is it possible that some eggs got through and hatched during shipment, and therefore were briefly alive upon arrival? Maybe. Is it more likely that water current caused the shrimps to look like they were darting around? Yes. Because that’s what water current does. It’s not rocket science.2. The description says “baby” brine shrimp. So if you’re expecting bigger shrimp, you’re going to be disappointed. The individual shrimps are no larger than the size of a period in 12 point font. It’s perfect for fry or picky nano fish. It does not suit bigger fish.3. This product does not kill fish unless you’ve done something wrong. Do not over feed. Remove uneaten food. Turn off the filter while feeding so the food doesn’t get sucked into it and create an ammonia spike. Again. Not rocket science.4. If you’re having trouble getting through it all within 6 weeks, freeze a portion. Should I mention the rocket science thing again?5. This food is really, really buoyant for the type of product it is. Keep in mind it is a solid food. It’s not a flake or freeze-dried food. It’s denser than water and it does sink. However, it floats around with the current for a good couple of minutes in freshwater and is very easy to stir up.Anyway. This was a great find. I will be purchasing again in the future.

Perfect for African Dwarf Frogs, the absolute BEST!

Finally! I wish I’d have purchased this product first. The jar is super small, be careful upon opening it could get REALLY messy. Use the scoop too, a little goes a VERY long way. I have African Dwarf Frog tadpoles, and so far they have been “eating” crushed tadpole pellets, fry powder, and Liquifry #2. Unfortunately, I could never visually see them actually eating until now, and these previous products made the baby tank super cloudy, messy, and everything wound up making a disgusting sludge on the bottom of the 2.5 tank. It seemed like I was just wasting the products. A miniscule spoon of this, instantly there was artemia all over the place, and they don’t settle! The filter pump is blowing them all over the place as if they were alive! The tads sprang to life like I had electrified the water. And this is the first time I actually saw them open their mouths. I was really thinking I needed to get into the stinky business of raising live brine shrimp for them to fully develop, but now I know – no way. This is fantastic. They were darting around, sucking them up, and as much as little tadpoles can look happy, these tadpoles definitely did. This has been an expensive hobby to date. Started with a 5 gallon tank and 6 frogs in April. I guess the planted tank, the frozen bloodworms, and Mopani wood made the conditions almost immediately perfect for breeding as they started singing almost immediately. By early May, my frogs were producing eggs almost every night. Everything I read said how difficult this was. As long as the water parameters were correct, weekly water changes, and feeding them every other day, it was a breeze. The eggs I would scoop out and put into a fishbowl. Most would not develop or the shock of moving them was a factor, I believe. I decided it is much better to leave the eggs in the tank until they hatch and use a baster to remove them 1-3 days later once I saw them swimming around the adult tank before they became a snack. In the fishbowl, they did fine. Daily water changes, powdered fish fry, and I kept them pretty warm. Once three got big, I got a 2.5 gallon tank, a good mini LED light, a small adjustable filter, and a line with an air stone. Now, I basically have an assembly line. Mortality rate is high at first, but it is important to separate the bigger ones from the small ones as SOON as it is possible for they do eat the little ones (so bummed). Honestly, I think all the foods I was using was going to waste because the bigger ones were eating the batches of smaller ones… now I know. But if you’re wanting to raise ADFs, this stuff is fantastic. I would say it’s a must. I am sorry about having lost all of those babies, please don’t make my mistakes I would never have let that happen had I known. Having this stuff may have saved them… I will try to add photos soon…

    Great for small nano fish

I had recently bought a Scarlet badis, but it was only a half inch long and was too small to eat almost any commercial food. This food saved it. It started gobbling these tiny little brine shrimp down like crazy, and I can now grow it out to its full-size and all my other little nano sized fish go crazy over to. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who has tiny fish who can’t eat normal food. It saved my tank.

    Package damage

Overall excellent product. The cichlid babies love them. My only complaint is with the packaging. Twice now the jar top has come unsealed during shipping and the integrity of the product was doubtful. The flimsy package cannot withstand the postal grind.

    Great! Rinse first and REFRIGERATE

These were awesome! I fed them to my baby axolotls on the off chance that I didn’t have any live ones to feed. I always rinsed them, since they’re often grown in salt water.I know some reviewers said they were alive when they arrived, for me, they were not alive. I would just simulate their movement by making the water in the tank move a bit and my axolotls always gobbled them all up.I forgot to refrigerate them one weekend and the smell was so horrific I almost threw up- so don’t make that mistake, especially in the summer!!

Gross Residue inside the water…Do not Recommend

If only I had a picture too share would save me time from writing this review.I bought this for my baby Betta’s. I wish I had known ahead of time and would have never bought this product. If you like slimy and gooey residue in your water and aquarium, this is your product. The smell does not bother me it is the gooey and slimy gunk that looks like saliva caught in the water and even the filter. When you open the container it is liquidly, but the moment it hits the water be warned.

    Worked for my baby angelfish

Our angelfish caught us off-guard by pairing off and secretly laying eggs in a hidden spot in our planted aquarium. Before we knew it we hundreds of baby angels! Without time to plan for live baby brine shrimp, I tried this product. At the time I though this would be a stop gap, but the baby angels thrived with this food for the first few weeks before moving on to regular flakes. This was a life saver and ultimately a much simpler solution than growing our own live shrimp. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these preserved baby brine shrimp.

According to how my fish act when I add this in there it must be good! Ha Ha although I can’t see any movement they are eating it and prefer this over flake food. I like feeding them flake in the morning then I feed them this in between the day. I have a ton of baby fish, Cory Catfish, and over 100 ghost shrimp who love this too! Great price and will last awhile even with 1-2 times per day of feeding!

    Works For Frys

Hatching your own brine shrimp can be time consuming and messy. And it is impossible to find frozen baby brine shrimp. This is the alternative. It is a very small jar that contains a million or so preserved baby brine shrimp. I fed this to cory catfish frys and so far they are thriving. It comes with a micro spoon so you just scoop some up and drop it in the tank. The shrimp floats down and moves with the water current so they look like they are alive and moving. Keep the jar in the fridge after opening it and use it up within 6 or 8 weeks. The only negative is I think the price is on the high side.

Definitely recommend this, my fish loves it!

The media could not be loaded.

It has been my experience that with lots of these products, the seller/manufacturers will show videos of the product but not often how the animal reacts to the product. So I’m posting a video showing how my betta enjoys this product. The shipping time was very fast. This is the second time I’ve ordered it and the shipping was on time. My fish loves the product and eats it right out of the little measuring spoon that comes with it. The jar has a space on the label to write the date you opened it so you know when it expires and you just keep it in your refrigerator in the mean time. I give my betta one little spoonful in between feedings about once a week to supplement his food pellets for extra nutrition. It’s such a nice treat for him and he gobbles greedy little mouthfuls right out of the spoon. It’s so fun to watch and I really think it helps improve his quality of life! I definitely recommend this product!

    Great for picky eaters!

I recently purchased some scarlet badis who are notoriously picky eaters. They like small foods that move around so dry foods, flakes, freeze dried, and even frozen foods are hard to get them to eat. I came across this product while digging around for a solution and I have to say they seem to really like this stuff. It hangs around in the water column and floats around like real live baby brine shrimp. I definitely plan on using this in between my hatching of live baby brine shrimps. I highly recommend this product to anyone with picky eaters in their fish tank.

    Great for Small Fish

I use this product to feed my celestial pearl danios (young and old). I have a breeding setup and start the babies on a smaller baby fish micro food before moving them to the baby brine shrimp. They LOVE it. The adults do, too. Here is a trick about the expiration on the bottle (because there is no way you will use it all by the expiry). Once you open the bottle, be sure to pipette the contents into a small ice cube or candy tray that you can freeze. I use a small reese’s-style tray and make tiny patties. Once frozen, move them to a plastic baggie for storage in your freezer. This way, you can greatly extend the shelf life of this product if you only have <20 nano fish (or so) like me.Cheers!

    Goldfish Fry Enjoy this!

Product arrived on time and packaged well. The baby fish *really get active when I add this food to the water.Note that Even after shaking the jar, the contents are very watery, not thick at all and I can barely see anything in the water. Yet the little fishes seem to know and really love.I am only on day 2, I feed quickly and place jar back into the fridge promptly, as directions state.Every day I use a rubbermaid turkey baster to clean up debris from the bottom of the tank.I have sweet potatoe vines floating in the water.I do about 25% water change every other day.Yes I do recommend and I would buy again.

I really like to feed this product. I have Endlers, Platies, Mystery Snails and a Pleco. The snails eat algae wafers primarily. This product disperses well. The fish are all different ages and I especially like that the frey can easily get at really good nutrition.

Great for small fry (or baby axolotls)

I used this for a teeny tiny 1 month old axolotl. They worked very well and they stored well in the fridge. They must’ve done a better job than I can emphasize because he is now 8 months old at nearly 8 inches long, so I’m pleased with the progress he made on these. (I stopped feeding this when he was old enough to eat worms, to be clear, but good nutrition early on is a must with any type of young fish/amphibian!)

I feed this to my killifish, cloud minnows, and rainbowfish and they all go bananas for it. Nice bright colors. They spread around the tank quickly so even more picked on fish have a chance to eat them too. I’ve also found tiny fry that were also eating them. Anything that settles gets eaten by my neo shrimp. I just stick a chopstick in and then swirl it around in my tank. I keep it refrigerated and it’s not particularly smelly. Will get more in the future.Edit: it does get pretty smelly around the 5 week mark.

My fish love it, but not as buoyant as described

Three times a week I feed these brine shrimp to my ember tetras, chili rasboras and female betta who all share one tank. They get roughly one scoop for the whole lot (17 fish total). What I will say is that they definitely love them and swarm to them. The only issue I have with these shrimp is that they don’t stay buoyant for very long, so not as many of them get eaten and sink to the bottom. They are not as buoyant as described in the video on the description page. (I cannot tell if my snails eat the shrimp that fall to the bottom or not).

I at times grow my own brine shrimp in the hatchery dish but sometimes I get lazy so this instant brine shrimp is wonderful to use, and it keeps for 6 weeks in the refrigerator. My tropical fish love it and go crazy for the baby brine shrimp. Even the shy pigmy cories and galaxy pearls come out of hiding for them.

    Perfect not for bettas though

My betta completely ignores this stuff. It’s too small for him to care at all. However my shrimp and smaller fish like Pygmy cories really like once it falls to the bottom. It does take a while to sink down but the smaller guys love it which is nice because I can feed them something that won’t get stolen by the betta. I froze half because it doesn’t last very long which is a down side

    They Love It!

All my fish love this for a treat – even my 2″ cardinal tetras. The littler ones go crazy, as do my dwarf shrimp. This may sound crazy, but I also use it to help trap the planaria in my 16 gallon tank. I have two of the glass tubes sold as planaria traps. I bait each one them with two spoonfuls of the baby brine shrimp, using the tiny spoon that comes with the jar. I put the tubes in the gravel with the spouts facing downward and the planaria go crazy (be sure to leave a little air in the tubes). Soon I have dozens of the pesky worms inside! Planaria are difficult to get rid of without chemicals, but there are a lot few of them now. This is a great product to have on hand for both purposes. I’m actually getting ready to buy another jar.

    Adult platies love it

I got this specifically for the fry but they’re a indifferent to it. My adult platies on the other hand go crazy over this stuff. The shelf life is really short (6 weeks after opening) so unless you’ve got a ton of fish, either freeze it or get something else. I only have 7 adult fish and 30 fry and am nowhere near halfway done with the jar before i have to throw it away.

Seems to be a great product and a lifesaver in a bind.

I am so grateful for this product. I was really struggling to hatch my Brian shrimp for my baby axolotl’s and I found this online. I can’t really see them eat it, but after a day of them seeming lethargic they seem to have more energy. Think it is a great thing to have on hand especially since it lasts up to six weeks in the refrigerator. I’ve gotten the hatchery to work so I’ve moved over to fresh live baby brine shrimp but it’s still really great to have around especially if you have issues with the hatchery working. Great back up product just wish more stores had it physically on hand because delivery can take a bit of time.

My platies went crazy for this

Both adult platies and platy fry loved thus stuff. Easy to use just shake it and grab a pipette to control how much you feed. It stays in the water column for a long time so you just see the fish darting back and forth attacking like a piranha swarm. It only lasts 4-6 weeks after opening if refrigerated but I used the whole jar before that feeding 20+ adults, 30+ fry

I don’t think I’ll ever hatch brine shrimp again.

This is absolutely amazing!! I’ve used this for 2 weeks now in my 20g with CPDs, Scarlet Badis, Ghost Shrimp, and a Clown Pleco. I was initially worried that since they weren’t technically “alive” that my Scarlet Badis wouldn’t care for them, but on day 2 of feeding this, they went straight for it. The colors in my CPDs were already pretty nice, but I’ve noticed them color up even more after I switched to this, and I’ve noticed breeding behaviors! Another thing that took me by surprise is that my Ghost Shrimp go absolutely nuts for this stuff, to the point where I’ve seen some “fighting” over little areas where food is falling.I tried feeding this to my German Blue Ram, and he acted like he didn’t even see it, granted, he is like 5x the size of the other fish.Seriously, before you waste your time and money on trying to hatch your own brine, give this a go.

Excellent food for fry and juvenile fish! Fun treat for adult fish!

I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to feed baby brine shrimp without having to hatch them.I had 12 juvenile fish shipped to me a little younger than normal. They arrived in great shape, but would not accept any of the fry food I had on hand. I contacted the breeder and found out the fish were still eating baby brine shrimp. I didn’t want to go to the trouble of hatching my own so I decided to give this product a try.The fish immediately began eating this food! It’s been about three weeks now, and they are all healthy and growing well. I have been able to successfully introduce them to other foods during this time, but I continue to feed them the baby brine shrimp as part of their regular diet. While the bottle may be small, the food goes a long way. I currently have eight tanks with fish, and I have fed the baby brine shrimp to all my fish as a treat. They love it! It stays suspended in the water column for a long time so all the fish have a chance to get some. This is especially important for the fry in my large tanks with lots of other fish. While the larger fish are kept busy trying to eat a million tiny bites, the fry are able to eat undisturbed.I will definitely buy this again and recommend it to anyone with fry, juvenile fish, or small fish. It’s also good for adult community fish as a much enjoyed treat. There’s enough in the bottle to feed the whole crew! If you enjoy feeding frozen foods to your fish, you’ll really enjoy feeding this to your fish!

I think I may have been a little misled by another reviewer’s video, which showed her betta eating larger baby brine shrimp than what I received. My shrimp were baby brine shrimp, so small they’re best intended for *baby* fish.Even if I merely feed a fraction of the spoon into the tank, a cloud of of shrimp disperses, only some of which are individually discernible to my naked eye. Of course, my betta has better eyesight given his smaller size and olfactory sensors.I worry he’s not able to gobble them all up before they disperse throughout, so I’m hesitant to feed these unless it’s water change day.Still, he does go nuts for the shrimp he can detect, and spends a good amount of time exploring the tank for hours as I think he still senses shrimp in the water, but just can’t find. It keeps him occupied, which is lovely.A food your betta will love, but it’s easy to overfeed and I’d be very hesitant to feed this often in smaller tanks or where water changes aren’t performed often.

    Very small amount

The bottle is packed, but it’s still a very small amount. My 1in goldfish fry go through it in a day, but it’s perfect when I can’t have my own batch of baby brine ready in time. They take this just as readily, and it’s so convenient. Plus, I keep the little jars to put more of their food into

    Excellent quality. Fish love it

I used the decal brine shrimp. Perfect for picky eaters like my goby who only wants live pods.I turn off pumps , add shrimp brine in front of him and he eats them up. I also sneak other food in with eggs and eats it . Thanks to this product my fish has gained wait and is extra healthy.

    Everyone LOVES it!

I was super surprised to find all of my fish across 6 tanks all love this stuff. It does float in the water column as described and is small enough for even my baby nanos.

Great for a community tank of nano fish

My albino cories, ember tetras, and honey gourami all love it. They go nuts for this stuff. This is easier to deal with than the frozen because of the scoop and because it doesn’t need to thaw.
