    Helped with 2-Nonenal-Getting Old Sucks!

Update: 1/4/2024:Since my last update, I ordered the Peony Rose and the Tangerine. The coconut smell started getting to me. When first applied, cream or soap, it reminded me of men’s dirty socks. Not feminine at all! Of course that initial stinky smell dissipates but I just couldn’t get past it. So I’ve tried both the peony rose and tangerine. Both smell really good. Believe it or not, my husband likes the peony rose the best. It leaves a smell similar to CK One on him. I’m sure body chemistry comes into play here but on him it doesn’t leave him smelling of flowers. On me, both leave a light pleasant scent. People won’t smell it on you unless they are literally sniffing your skin. The soap works just fine by itself for 2-Nonenal.Update: 12/26/23I tested using only the soap and it works! For me, at this point and time, no need to use both the soap and the cream. Saves me a little time in my hygiene routine and a little bit of money too.Original Review:I’m going to put my tragic but true story out here in hopes it helps someone. Move on to the next review if you are sensitive to the truth and facts about aging or just squeamish.Growing up I spent a lot of time with my grandmother. I always noticed her house had this certain smell and I knew it came from her but never knew what it was. I definitely knew it was a natural smell, not a perfume, lotion or detergent. It was a sweet but earthy kind of smell. Whatever it was, I knew I didn’t want it.Fast forward 43 years and here I am post menopause. I still get a little hot flash now and then but I’m definitely through the turbulence. Praise Jesus! The other morning, I was sitting in bed with my morning cup of coffee perusing on Amazon like I always do, and I could smell this sweet, musty, salty something odor coming off my neck and chest. I was like, WTH!, but in much worse language. I religiously shower 2x a day. I never get in my bed dirty. NEVER. And all of a sudden, I’m waking up with this strange odor on my body. The idea of it tormented me all day. Next morning, same problem. 😩😩😩. So over to the internet I go to try to diagnose my problem. Well, guess what? I’ve hit an all time low in my life! I officially have Old People Smell or scientifically called, 2-Nonenal. Welcome to my dark side, folks! So back to Amazon I go to find a product to cure me. I came across Lume. I even saw the tv commercial for the all body soap and deodorant. I purchased both. Last night I showered with the soap and made sure I got my back and all the cracks and crevices. I put the cream on my neck and chest. I went to bed, said my prayers, asked God to take away the old people smell. 🙏❤️🙏.So here I am, the next morning, sitting in bed with my morning coffee and writing this review. So! How do I smell this morning? Like a coconut. No old people smell. I only smell of coconut. Lume worked!Would it work for a solid 72 hours? Don’t know and don’t care because I bathe 2x day minimum. I will use the soap and cream daily. It sucks getting old. Your joints wear out, skin dries out, and now we’re doomed to get 2-Nonenal.Mentally I still feel like I’m in my early 40’s. Physically, I feel like my actual age of 58. But I REFUSE to smell like an old person. REFUSE! REFUSE! REFUSE!Pros:-Bar of soap is quite sizable and will last awhile.-It works for 2-Nonenal and possibly other reasons for body odorCons:-Tube of body cream is rather small but you don’t need much as it spreads well-Products are pricey but how can you put a price on something that gets rid of 2-Nonenal?So this is my wicked little story. I hope it helps someone and my apologies if I grossed you out.

It works! Move past the initial smell, know how to use it, and you may be amazed.

I have tried MANY aluminum-free deodorants, and Lume is the only one that works for me. Others smell good at first but don’t last, stain my clothes, and sometimes give me horrible rashes. Deodorants that contain aluminum stain my clothes and cause painful lumps in my pits. So for awhile, I was just choosing the lesser of two evils with natural deodorants that had to be reapplied all day. Enter Lume. The first time I tried Lume, it was just ok. I shelved it until later. Later came, and I was skeptical to try it again since it was kinda meh before but not groundbreaking for me, but then I discovered I had not been using it correctly. Lume stops odor BEFORE it starts, so it’s going to work best if you apply it BEFORE you stink–aka, fresh out of the shower. Applying it once you’ve already been out of the shower for awhile and have had some time to sweat a bit from normal existence and then expecting it to fix everything doesn’t work super well. It does help a bit, but its real magic comes in applying it as a preventative measure. As a night showerer, I have found that what works best for me is putting it on right out of the shower at night and then reapplying in the morning if I think I could use an extra layer of protection. Some mornings I don’t reapply, and I am fine depending on the day’s activities. It really does last all day. It does not break me out. It does not leave a residue. I do not stink. A little drop goes a long way, so a tube lasts awhile. All around, it’s the best I’ve tried and I will not switch again as long as my body continues to accept it. It’s a miracle body care product for me!For context, I live in a very warm, humid climate. I sweat a normal amount for an adult woman, but with the climate, it’s a lot of sweat if I’m outside for longer than a few minutes. I even wore this while on vacation in Marco Island, Florida in August, and it worked!Yes, the smell is weird when you smell it in the tube and when you first put it on, but y’all, the weird smell DOES NOT LAST on the skin. It goes away within a few seconds. After that, I don’t smell any scent anymore, no matter what scent I’m using (which is usually Clean Tangerine). The “good” scent may last a couple minutes after application, but then that dissipates as well. That’s great for someone like me who doesn’t want her deodorant to have an overwhelming scent. It makes me sad to see people not even trying it on their skin because it smells weird in the tube; they might be missing out on a life-changing product for themselves!

It works as promised, but need to learn to use it

Summary:Positives1. It is better for your skin than cheaper alternatives.2. It is not expensive to use because a small amount lasts.3. It can be effective sometimes for 2 days and sometimes for a lot more.Update:4. Applyed it for a jock itch, now it is gone, wow. So much healthier than the medications which actually hurt your skin.Negatives1. Applying it is a little bit involved, and can take a few minutes.2. One needs a special solution to wash the bad smell off of fingers.3. Though the bad smell can be managed, it is still awful to experience such bad smell while applying it.Details:I bought a tube of no scent lume. Mostly because the only scent acceptable to wear for a man: silver spruce, was out at that time. I did read reviews of the horrific smell, but wanted to try it anyway. When I did try it, it was horrific. The smell was unbearable to me. When I would apply it with my fingers, it was getting on my fingers, and my fingers smelled horrible, and the smell would not wash out with water or soap, so I stopped using it.Much later, unhappy with other deodorants, I thought to persevere, and to try it again.I found out that after applying it, you want to keep from putting the shirt on for a few minutes. This is to prevent it from soaking into your shirt. After a few minutes, several things happened: it would 1. Stop smelling horridly under my arms( not much smell at all ), 2. Dry out, so I could put my shirt on. I also found out that the horrid smell on my fingers could be washed away with a soap and a light vinegar and water solution. It all sounds pretty involved, so why is my rating 4 stars, which is a positive rating.Well, 1: alternatives are either bad for your skin or expansive. 2: on the subject of expansiveness, this product is also quite expensive. But I use the tiniest amount of it, and it does it’s job well, so it actually lasts a while. 3: how well does it actually work? I found out that in the summer, when I tend to sweat more, it is effective for maybe a day and a half, possibly 2 days. But in the winter, when I don’t sweat too much, it can last a week or more. I had a minor medical procedure, and could not shower for a week, and it was still working. I was rather surprised. But as soon as I washed, my BO was back as strong as ever, sorry for that imagery. So I know it was lume keeping it down. So to recount:Positives1. It is better for your skin than cheaper alternatives. 2. It is not expensive to use. 3. It can be effective sometimes for 2 days and sometimes for a lot more.Negatives1. Applying it is a little bit involved, and can take a few minutes.2. One needs a special solution to wash bad smell off of fingers3. Though the bad smell can be managed, it is still awful to experience such bad smell while applying it.

Best deodorant but not a fan of toasted coconut scent

This is not an antiperspirant; however, it is one of the best deodorants I’ve ever used. It lasts, feels gentle-non-cakey, and the scent wares off quickly. I accidentally subscribed to the Toasted Coconut scent, looking for a coconut scent, and it smells like a mix of coconut and burnt toast, which frankly, doesn’t sit well with, I would imagine, most people’s body chemistries.I have two tubes of this Toasted Coconut stuff which I will ride out until I get the Peony Rose. It smells weird. I don’t love it, but it works really well. I hear the Peony Rose smells nice, so here’s to hoping! The good news is that the scent doesn’t overpower for long, so even if you get a scent that you don’t care for, it won’t last long.

Toasted Coconut, updated formula and smell is much more pleasant!! This stuff works!!

My updated review, I have attached my original below and it still holds true. I believe they have changed the formula with the ‘Toasted Coconut’ scent, it actually smells like coconuts, doesn’t have the “lume” undertone of a smell like all the others. The texture is different as well, more like a moisturizer. All of this is very good, because I haven’t been able to tell any difference in product performance. I am very pleased. They have discontinued the sweet Lily I believe, but the Toasted Coconut really smells good, and truly works. So if you’re on the fence try, the newest scent. Side note, if you have just shaved or have irritated skin, it will burn, but the burning for me is few and far between. The burning dissipates within minutes though, and it’s only if I have just shaved or have irritated skin.I purchased the Lume for my lady parts, because of all the amazing reviews. The scent I went with at first was the Lavender Sage, it really is not the most pleasant smell honestly. I can’t describe it, but it does dissipate somewhat once rubbed in. However I would still smell traces on my hands, even after washing. Which I did not like. So I ordered the “unscented” & the “sweet lily” to see if I liked those scents were any better. Because the product really blew me always with how well it worked for me, and I really wanted to find a smell that I could handle. So when I opened the ‘unscented’ to smell I was immediately disgusted, and disturbed at how bad it was and will absolutely not be using. I will return it, the smell was horrid. However the sweet lily smell was not so bad, not the best but tolerable. Especially once rubbed in it is more of a light scent compared to the other two. Still isn’t something I would want to put on my arm pits, not really sure how people put this anywhere but the private areas. The smells are not pleasant. But if you’re buying this for private areas, this smells better then the reason you’re buying this product. If you get my drift! BUT once you find a smell that you can live with, this stuff is absolutely amazing for private areas!! It truly is! I am really blown away by its effectiveness. It works. After showering and I’m completely dry. I apply a pea sized amount on each side where my legs meet my hoo hoo and slightly towards my backside, it seriously works. There literally little to no trace of any smell all day long. I shower daily, so I cannot attest to the 72hour claim. But I was having issues with smell even just a short while after showering, and it really bothered me. So I was on the hunt to fix this issue. I highly recommend this stuff. And my thoughts on the smell of the product, most natural products do not smell the best because they are not masked with fragrance. So yes the smell can be a lot. But it works. So be patient and find the one that works with your body, every product smells different on different bodies. For me the Sweet Lily was the most mild almost untraceable and fresh once rubbed in. Hope this helps.

Minted Cucumber scent is the BEST!

TLDR; Lume works GREAT! And the Minted Cucumber smells great and covers the “funky” smell of Lume the best in my opinion!I just want to say that I have tried several Lume products and scents. They all work amazingly, but they all have a “funky” scent — reminds me of a stinky diaper rash cream, but Minted Cucumber covers that funky smell!Honestly, I had the Toasted Coconut in the beginning and hated the smell. Wasn’t sure I would ever try it again, but it was very effective at preventing odors. I ended up searching a lot Online for honest reviews of the scents and I decided to order a trial pack with 6 different scents. The following is a list of the 6 scents that I ordered and how I would rank the scents based on how well they cover the “funk”:#1 Minted Cucumber,#2 Peony Rose, and #3 Clean Tangerine.I would not buy the following again:Fresh Alpine, Lavender Sage, or Soft Powder.*Please note: I don’t care for floral scents, but the Peony Rose covered the funk well.If you have tried Lume before and didn’t like the funk, this one is wonderful and fresh and I would highly recommend it!

A love/hate situation with this product

I first encountered Lume on a popular social media site. I thought their ads were cute and funny, plus I really appreciated Lume’s approach to B.O. in that they’re not demonizing body stink, but trying to normalize it. Let’s face it, we all deal with fire pits from time to time! I went ahead and read reviews from across the internet and people’s reactions to Lume seemed overwhelmingly positive on their managed social media accounts, and significantly less glowing (but still generally positive) on sites like this.I posted a couple of questions to the Lume online community, mostly in regard to the “unusual” and “rule-breaking” scent the product was purported to carry, and that’s when things got a little weird. Lume cheerleaders materialized out of the woodwork and swore up and down that this stuff was going to be a life-changer. I received so many responses, actually, that I wondered if they were generated organically. The gist of it came across as such, “How dare you challenge the all-powerful Lume? Not only will it make you smell nicer, but it will make you richer, prettier, and younger!” The pushback was extreme. It was at this point that I felt I had to try out the product. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now.OMG, the smell. I’ve seen it compared to dried spit, rotten walnuts, butt funk, etc. Yes, Lume smells TERRIBLE out of the tube. I think it smells rather like a dirty belly button after you’ve been out camping in the woods for a few days with no access to a shower. The scent dissipates quickly after application, but heaven forbid you put on your bra or shirt and get some on the fabric before everything is dry because the scent WILL linger on fabric. The smell (at least in my own experience) is extremely off-putting.I went back to social media and was like, “Hey, so about this smell that y’all were insisting isn’t so bad…” and the responses I received were defensive. I was accused of applying way too much product and not letting it dry properly. Lume responded by saying, “We had to break a few rules to make a product that’s so effective!” Listen, “we had to break a few rules” is Lume code for, “We know it smells horrifying but we can’t admit just how bad it smells because if we did, nobody would buy our product.” And here’s where the love/hate comes into play: Lume, just admit that for an hour after application, your product stinks! The smell is gag-inducing. That said, once the Lume stink wears off, the odor control Lume provides is good. 72 hours good? HA, no, but instead of getting out of bed stinky the next day, I wake up smelling much like I did when I went to bed the night before. The lack of antiperspirant properties has taken some getting used to, and I DO NOT recommend using Lume if you’re wearing clothing that comes close to touching your now moist (but not smelly) armpits because sweat rings are not an appealing look when it comes to women’s casual wear. With tank tops? Oh yeah. Sweat freely and feel the breeze on those pits; it really is quite a liberating experience. There’s a place in the world (and in my medicine cabinet) for Lume. Camping trips? Working outside in the summer? Yes. I expect I’ll even use it this winter when I’m not as prone to sweating, but for general daily summer wear when sweat rings are a concern, I’ll stick with my regular antiperspirants. In conclusion: The product itself smells AWFUL. The smell goes away quickly (unless you get it on your clothes, in which case you’ll be changing outfits unless you want the stink to linger.) Armpit stink is controlled for about 24 hours. You’re probably going to be surprised how much sweat your armpits produce. Watch out for sweat rings!

Invisible odor protection you can use anywhere

I’ve been using Lume for about 3 years now. While I have some gripes that I will detail below, I can’t see myself switching to a different brand anytime in the near future. If you’re new to Lume, here’s what I’d tell you to expect:- It’s easy to apply anywhere.- It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave white marks on my clothing.- It doesn’t clog up my razor when I shave my underarms.- While it’s not technically supposed to be an anti-perspirant, I find that I get anti-perspirant benefits when I use it.- The odor protection really does last forever. I live in a beach town and am constantly in the ocean or pool. Even after that kind of submersion, I don’t stink.- You only need to use a tiny bit – literally a pea size. It goes a long way, and the tube lasts a long time as a result.- While some of the scents get a little weird (at least to me), the scent fades away pretty quickly, which I like. The gripes I have are minimal, and not enough to prevent me from continuing to love and buy the product overall.- Sometimes the scents are wacky–either way too strong or, at least to my nose, they seem “off” in some way. Like I’m not a fan of the Lavender Sage. I don’t know what it is about it, but it just smells like body odor straight out of the tube to my nose. My most recent purchase was the Soft Powder. It smells like a version of baby powder, which is okay, but just a little… off.- Speaking of scents, they’re different every time I order, which is really annoying when I find one that I really like. Warm Vanilla is gone? Why? That was the best one. There was one in a purple tube a couple years ago that was may fav. Now it’s gone. Don’t get attached to anything you love, or if you do, buy a big stock of it!- The style of the tube cap and the hole that the product comes out of has changed over time. When I first started using Lume, the hole was small in a good way, making it easy to squeeze out just the amount you need, and it didn’t cake up around the exit hole. There have been at least two cap styles since, and they allow an excess of product to be squeezed out too easily plus it doesn’t cleanly exit anymore, so it cakes up and dries around the hole.Overall it’s still my favorite deodorant and I recommend it to all my friends.

Wow…..I am a skeptic and am impressed

I held off on buying for MONTHS because I was skeptic and didn’t want to spend the money on this. I ended up taking the plunge after an especially stinky day. I am a nurse working 12 hour fast paced shifts and end up funky within a few hours into my shift. I am also sensitive “down there” and was worried about upsetting the balance leading to more issues than I bargained for. I tried toasted coconut and yes, it starts out smelling a bit like funky stale movie theater popcorn (gross) but the scent goes away pretty darn quick and you are left with just a very light undertone of coconut if you concentrate hard. It is not offensive. There has been ZERO odor on a daily basis and after a stressful shift only a mild work funk that still impresses me. I have NOTHING wrong “down there” I am just an extremely sweaty person. I am an athlete runner/weight lifter- whose body after sensing any sort of physical activity and increased heart rate turns on the sweat jets full force in anticipation. It is embarrassing and annoying but this seems to have helped with the sweat odor significantly. I am eager to try the tangerine next.

    Pleased with this product!

I was a BIT skeptical of which scent to choose, bc the ratings are kind of all over the place, in terms of which scents ppls tend to like versus think are nasty lolSo I went with the SAFE option for my first choice; considering the majority of the people who reviewed the clean, tangerine liked it – what the hell, that’s what I’ll get!Needless to say, I have only used it for two days now, but so far, I am quite pleased with this product. It does seem expensive, however, I only have to use literally smaller than a piece size amount under each armpit, and that lasts all day long and same with any other area. You need to put it in..I I definitely recommend you give it a try. And ask for any tips for the company I would say I just recommend getting some more scent options in and perfecting the ones you already have so that they tweaked two of the people like otherwise great product. Thank you very much.(sorry if there are typos; I used talk to text bc I’m injured rn…. Hopefully you don’t get too confused and get the point of my review just fun! 🤭)

    Does what it says

I bought this after watching the commercials. I got the Tangerine scent and I have to say it smells awful when you first put it on but it does work. No odor for 2 days when I couldn’t shower. Use it everywhere with no ill effects.

    Works Great, however…

I got the “unscented” version, but when first applying the product it stinks, like vinegar I think. Good news that the smell evaporates as the lotion dries. I love it for my feet as I have to wear compression socks and slip-resistant shoes at work and my feet don’t stink when I take them off after work. Will certainly order more, perhaps with a scent…

    Lume is the Best!

I have been a Lume user for a few months now……I first got a 2-pack of the cream in the Lavender Sage…..I am usually a no-scent person because I am allergic to SO many fragrances, but I have always liked BOTH lavender and sage as scents, so I tried it and love it!! My most recent order was the Toasted Coconut, and I love it for its warmer smell and its same odor fighting power, but I will probably always have more than one scent on hand. Not only does this deodorant keep me feeling and smelling fresh, but the bumps I used to have under my armpits have disappeared since I started using Lume! I have to assume it is the “aluminum-free” aspect of this product. I will also probably try the Cucumber Mint and the Soft Powder in the future. I am sold on their products!

It’s okay but not the full hype in my experience

I finally bought this after about a year of watching ads and keeping it in my cart. Got it for a trip to Puerto Rico, figured this would be the best test.I used it as an underarm deodorant and definitely still had an odor a few hours later. I’m not a novice to natural deodorants and this was definitely lacking compared to my actual deodorant. I don’t normally smell or sweat excessively either and it still didn’t work well for me.I’ve read other comments of it having a strange smell at first, I did not have that. It just smells like a strong peony scent to me but then it dwindles..till you sweat enough to have it not work well enough.I also used it on the sensitive areas and I will say I was more impressed with that application especially on the hot sweaty walking days in dresses. It was nice to not worry about any odors other than the peony rose scent. I would say it didn’t eliminate it but rather masked it. I only applied a pea sized amount and it said it was safe to use and not hold back and I didn’t, I didn’t have any reaction at all. During or after.Overall I would buy this again but I’m only using it as a body deodorant not an underarm deodorant.

So i love this product, i have been using it for years. But i usually buy the coconut one and i wanted to try something new. The scent smells really good. BUT i feel like the coconut one lasts longer. That is the only negative i can say about this scent. But i do recommend the product.

    Get this!

I keep buying this deodorant because it’s a true revolution! After a few uses you will notice that your sweat doesn’t smell anymore. It apparently kills the bacteria that causes the nasty odors. The cream is not sticky and gets absorbed easily by your body. Works on the entire body and last for two days

    My honest opinion

Here’s what I have experienced. I ordered Lume whole body deodorant invisible cream in tangerine and have been using around a month and a half. As you can see the the company statement is 72Hr odor control and the directions is to started with a pea sized amount and rub in anywhere you have odor but wish you didn’t. So I followed the instructions after showing I place a pea size on my body in the areas that I heavily sweat. The smell when I first squeezed the Lume out on my finger tip is not the best at all. In my opinion it has a slight odor like sweat mixed with freshness honestly. I still decided I was going to try it. So I rubbed it in and let it dry for a couple minutes. After it dries down I could not smell anything. By the end of my day I felt like it helped. Day two I tested out the 72Hr theory . I showed in the morning as usual but at the end of the day I didn’t . That next day when I woke up I didn’t have a odor but just felt uncomfortable. In my opinion I would not go with showering and just apply Lume especially living in Texas where it’s extremely hot and I’m a heavy sweater . No ma’ma !! Soap and water is the best option but I’m not saying it will not work I just think it’s going to be some funk there lol not strong funk but funk that’s not good for a woman of my age. All and all I like it. Once I got pass the initial smell I am fine with it. In my case Lume will not replace a shower and for the people that sweat heavily I wouldn’t recommend going without a shower or at least a birdbath. The price point is pretty high but it’s worth a try if you want to control your B. O. I think I will get the unscented next to see if it has better results.

    Not crazy about the scent

I haven’t had the product long enough to know how well this cream deodorant works yet, but so far it seems good. Really like the tube of cream style. Easy to apply anywhere you need it.I did not give the deodorant five stars only because the scent is really strange. I really like almost any type of rose scent. This product is a rose/citrus scent. It is not a good combo. You first notice the rose scent immediately followed by a sharp citrus scent and not in a good way. It’s a rather unpleasant mix and smell.I would order the deodorant again, but not this scent.

    Knocks down ‘Swamp-Ass’ !

I’m one of those guys that gets sweaty on my lower back-upper rear-end, commonly referred to as ‘Swamp-Ass’. This product DOES knock it down pretty good ! As far as a deodorant I would say it is above average and lasts a day or two. I got the Aspen scented and it’s mild but good. I’ve never experienced a bad smell that you can’t get off your hands as others have stated. Overall it’s a good product and I’ll buy more.

    This One Is A Keeper!

I’ve been using Lume for a few years now and have never looked back when it comes to antiperspirant deodorant, (even though I feel there is nothing wrong with antiperspirant, what doesn’t work for one can be a miracle for another!) anywho- I’ve tried three of Lume’s deodorant scents in the past which include: Toasted Coconut, Peony Rose, Clean Tangerine, and now this one! Minted Cucumber and I’ve gotta say, this one smells amazing. I know Lume’s main takeaway for some users is that it smells a bit odd when coming out of the tube, almost funky. However, I’ve gotta say Clean Tangerine and Peony Rose have been pretty nice fragrances! Again, to each their own. I feel Minted Cucumber has now become my #1 favorite! When coming out of the tube and applied it smells so CLEAN and it reminds me of cucumber-scented makeup/baby wipes or a better scent comparison (at least to me) would be Dove’s classic cucumber body wash! This stuff smells AWESOME! So I highly recommend if you’ve given the other Lume’s a try and didn’t quite like it, try this scent, you won’t be disappointed! 🙂

    Caution!

Although expensive, this product really works. I bought Lume before Mando was available. But pay attention. I stepped out of the shower and without my glasses on, picked up an identical size tube of toothpaste (I didn’t notice the different color cap.) and I proceeded to spread toothpaste over many parts of my body. I don’t recommend doing that. I would recommend using Lume or Mando. Both products kill the body odor.

But, you can try Lumē & see the great results for yourself.I’ve used this product for a couple years now & still extremely satisfied throughout each season of the year. I enjoy Lume. I used it while pregnant b/c Secret was causing an awful rash under my arms. The Lume was great to use instead, & no rash… The tangerine is my fav scent, but the fresh is nice too (not a coconut fan & natural lavender smells like cat pee to me).I get the smell off my hands by using a Clorox wipe, then I thoroughly wash my hands w/ soap & hot water.

Effective. The base aroma grows on you.

Long-lasting odor neutralization. After nearly two months of regular use, I am satisfied. If I so much as look at a member of the allium family, my armpits can reek of onions, and sometimes even several vigorous scrubs in the shower will fail to check the stench. Perhaps the product had expired, or something in my personal biome or chemistry has changed, but for the last year my former go-to stick (from Maine) wasn’t cutting it.Now, depending on how much allium I consume, Lumé gives me at least 24-hrs odor neutralization, and more typically 48–72 hrs. I went from feeling self-conscious about my body odor almost daily, to thinking about applying deodorant only 1–3 times a week. The cream medium is more sanitary than a stick, especially in a household that tends to keep it simple and share most body products.Reviews had prepared me to *not* expect an aroma therapy experience, and even so I was admittedly ever-so-slightly disappointed upon being introduced to Lumé’s underlying scent. It was neither overtly offensive, nor obviously pleasant. But I accepted that it is what it is (i.e., safe & effective), and I moved on.To be fair, my expectations were likely skewed after temporarily using the dregs of old salves (while between deodorant products), which were redolent with essential oils like clove and lavender. (BTW: EO salves worked pretty darn well as a deodorant, too. And they trained me to get accustomed to using my hands to rub product into my armpits.)But after two months of getting better acquainted with Lumé and appreciating its effectiveness, I’ve grown to practically LIKE the base scent, and my perception of the intended aroma (lavender-sage) is more forward. (Mind over matter, people.)At any rate, the aromas only augment your experience of applying Lumé, as they don’t perfume your body. The base scent may be ever-so-slightly perceptible for the first 24-hrs, but only if you really stick your nose in it. After about a day, you just smell like you, minus any offensive concoctions you body’s biome cooks up for you.I’m considering ordering the sample pack of deodorant creams, next. That way I’ll have TSA-sized tubes ready for travel, and whenever I run out I can then explore a different variety of application aroma. (What the heck, why not?)(Isn’t it ironic? Just as we’ve come to (re)master and appreciate the efficiency of bar shampoos, conditioners and lotions, now I’m switching to using a cream deodorant. *eye-roll emoji*).

Provides total odor control with or without luxuriant scents!

100% ‘truth in advertising’ products. The Whole Body Deodorant cream is completely absorbed with zero residue. A ‘pea sized dollop’ warmed by rubbing it in your palms, individually for each area, provides total coverage of your “pits – feet – privates”. Washing your hands between each area’s application prevents cross contamination of the tube opening. My Tangerine 🍊 scented products are extremely mild and do Not compete with my perfumes/colognes in any way! Excellent products.

    Surprised this actually works

I’ve tried several natural deodorants, including Drunk Elephant, Clinique, and Pacifica. They were all just kind of so-so in terms of effectiveness. Only the Pacifica one actually did anything about underarm sweat. They would all help with the odor some, but if I actually sniffed my armpit (which I did to check lol), I could detect a hint of b.o. underneath the pleasant scent. It kind of made me feel self-conscious even though I’m pretty sure people around me couldn’t smell it. So I would end up switching back to aluminum or trying something else.I don’t think aluminum is as dangerous as people seem to think — at least not when used in normal amounts on the underarm and then cleaned off with regular exfoliation. However, I wanted a deodorant I could also use under my boobs and between my legs. I’d kind of been spraying Summer’s Eve there when I really needed it, but it’s not good for sensitive skin really. It’s also not quite as effective as Lume has been.I think I’ve finally found what I’m going to use to replace my other deodorants and powders etc. that I was using before. I have tested this out in multiple areas of the body now (underboob, belly button, underarms, and between the legs), and I have tested each of these areas at different points during the day. Not only do I not detect b.o., but I don’t detect any smell at all. It’s amazing — I think actually better even than regular aluminum antiperspirant. It actually even reduces moisture in areas that I had before.I will say that I do not think it lasts 72 hours like they claim.. This might change over time, since apparently it can take a few weeks for your skin to fully get used to it. I would say I think it lasts for me somewhere between 24 to 36 hours. I also think it’s a good idea to really exfoliate before using. I did not exfoliate during my last shower, and I can tell it is not as effective as when I did exfoliate and applied immediately after. That brings me to another positive, though: I had no irritation at all when applying after exfoliating and shaving. I applied it straight out of the shower after patting the areas dry.I tried peony rose and it is okay….I’m not a huge fan of the scent, but it’s not super strong and it doesn’t bother me because i apply it at night before bed and by the time I wake up, I can’t smell it any more. I’m probably going to try tangerine next time though, because I’ve heard that’s the least offensive of all of the fragrances (including even the unscented, for some reason?).Overall though I recommend. Even if you continue using aluminum-based antiperspirant under your arms, this is safer for more sensitive areas in your body, so you could use it for those areas and continue to apply your usual under your arms. You might kind of have to if you’re going to be sweating a ton, because natural deodorants are definitely not the greatest at reducing moisture.

I really like this product and will purchase it again. Just makes you feel better and more protected from smelling. Worth it!

This was so worth the risk in trying yet another type of deodorant. I’ve tried so many – I’ve always had problems with my underarms…. blocked pores and very sore “pimples”, sweat, odor, deodorant stains…. the whole 9 yards!I’ve tried several different deodorants over the years and always ended up back on regular antiperspirant (which I know is bad, but I had no other options)I tried this, Lume…. the lavender one, a good safe scent that I couldn’t go wrong with, and I was right, a very, very, mild, pleasant scent.Day 1 – tried it on my underarms…. all good! Day 2, 3, 4…. all good. Day 5, it felt hot when I applied it so, I rewashed my underarms and put regular deodorant on for the day.Day 6, and 7, I applied the Lume again. Day 8 or 9, it felt warm/hot again, so I rewashed my underarms and wore no deodorant, as I was just hanging out, alone, at home for the day. From about there on out its been great.I’m writing this long review because, if you’re trying this product, I want you to be aware that it might make all your dreams come true on the first try – or it might take your body a little while to adapt to it…. give it a couple of tries!I’m in my 50’s and have tried many new things over the years and have learned that sometimes things don’t work exactly as planned on the first try or in an overnight complete switch to a new product; sometimes it takes a few tries!I have been using the Lavender Lume for about 3 months and I absolutely love it now. It dries in, in a minute or two, I have zero irritation and zero stickiness on my underarms, and no white streaks or clumpy bits on my underarms. I would not say it lasts 72 hours, but, everyone is different, but it absolutely lasts me more than 24 hours, which, to me, is absolutely fantastic!Sometimes, I put it on the crease of my thighs and it hasn’t bothered me there at all.I also got the roasted coconut scented one which sometimes feels warm/hot when I put it on, so I am more careful not to apply it so soon after my shower and that seems to be working out well. When I finish the coconut one I’m gonna stick with just getting the Lavender Lume – I love it and highly recommend it.P.S. It seems a little expensive but a little goes a long way, so each tube lasts a good while…. not sure how long exactly as I’ve been going back and forth with the two different scents over the last couple of months but maybe I’ll update this review sometime, with an estimate on how long each tube lasts for me!

    Toasted coconut is awesome!

Due to menopause hot flashes I sweat or just had underarm odor and this stuff works incredibly well. Have not had any breakthrough odors since started using which I did while wearing various deodorants. I haven’t changed habitual foods/medications as possible mitigating factors so i believe I found solution to under my underarm odors. I love the smell of coconut when applying. Note: i have not had any stains nor lingering scents on dirty nor washed clothing which was personal concern so that’s good to know. Highly recommend.

Great smell and easy to use

The first one I tried was the tangerine-the smell wasn’t great-kind of sour. So not sure if it was my body or the product that smelled as the day went on. Threw it away and it had to be bad for me to waste the almost whole tube. This one with the powder scent it a lot better and I like it but 72 hours is pushing it with me. And who needs 72 hours without applying new anyway?

It smells like baby barf but it works 100%! I tend to run hot and sweat a lot and it doesn’t help when I work in an area with an industrial dishwasher and no AC. I put it on all my areas and I’m pretty much fine the rest of the day!

    100% Odor Protection

I like that the powder scent can mask the (for me at least) sour undertone scent that Lume tends to have. I tried the peony scent and it was TERRIBLE.Once the initial application is done, the usual sour scent fades within a few minutes and you smell nothing but fresh powder. I shower every day and I apply Lume every third shower. It really does hold true to the 72hr protection claim! I figure this tube will last a good while if I’m only using two pea size drops every few days. It doesn’t offer anti-perspirant just fyi, but the odor protection is perfect.

    Giving a 2nd chance

I ordered Lume straight from the seller previously and had the solid deodorant which didn’t work for me. Figured I’d try the cream. So far it has been working ok for me (why? I don’t know), but the real test will be in the summer when heat is involved. I ordered the ‘soft powder’ scent first and am not impressed with it, but have kept it and reordered the same in ‘clean tangerine’. Much better scent. Hope it works as it’s very expensive. I’m a 64-year-old woman and my ‘whole bodily system’ seems to be out of whack! Hope this helps someone else make a decision whether or not to buy.

Works.. but the initial smell is rancid..

After reading reviews and seeing most folks say that the scent they got was not pleasant I decided to opt for the unscented kind to hopefully avoid that. Unfortunately that is not the case. This product has an extremely off-putting smell. I’m not sure how to describe it other than dog breath. It smells borderline rancid.. I was so worried I would apply this product and then have this lingering smell on my body. After testing this for several days now it does appear that the nasty smell only last about 30min to an hour on my body before I don’t smell it anymore. Additionally IT DOES WORK! No body odor smell at all while using this product. So do I think it’s worth it? Yes. I would recommend this to a friend and I will definitely buy this again. You just have to be able to get past the initial stench when you apply it.

5 stars!!! MAGIC IN A TUBE!!!!!

The media could not be loaded.

The texture is very cool it’s thick but it’s not too creamy but it feels creamy and thick. I don’t know how to explain it it’s really cool where ever you put this you’re not gonna sweat and it’s not gonna stink that’s the main objective is the sweating part right? I mean come on let’s get real that’s the point now!!, everybody’s different I know some people can’t even use regular deodorant because sweating so much that’s why they have different products for that but this one works for me I use suave, cocoa butter sheer deodorant, so I tried the regular lume deodorant for the whole body five stars I would give it 10 stars I did not have a rash. I did not sweat now I don’t know about if i had a bad smell because I take showers so much but I went on the farm to work. I was sweating my butt off, but no sweating where I put the lotion deodorant at first time I have never had that issue before and it was amazing. why did someone now just make this? This is like literally magic in a bottle. We’ve all wanted it for years for years and finally someone has done. It doesn’t mess with your pH. You have no yeast infections from this product. It’s literally like magic no more sweating in the folds of anything*****(now i start talking about my personal body if u would like stop here and try lume out go for it, it really don’t matter what smell you picked because you’re going to wear perfume over it, so it really don’t matter now if u need more knowledge then sure go ahead n read at ur own rick TMI)I can actually clean the house and not worry if I’m going to get (TMI), a rash under my boobs because after two kids and breast-feeding with the kids being like 1 1/2 of age they have wore these girls out so yeah I know I screwed up breast-feeding too long. I know that but you know you get chafe in places you don’t like you start getting itchy because of all the sweat I mean this product is freaking gold. It’s just I’m flabbergasted on how great this product works without having such of one pH issues because I can’t use sprays or soaps it literally screws up my pH levels so I can’t use any summer eve, products for example, I cannot use any of their stuff because it will no joke Give me a yeast infection only one time years and it’s because I’m too sensitive. My pH level is too sensitive, blah blah blah blah blah I already know why, so I can’t use anything because my pH gets so out of whack so easy. I always been like that for years until now and I’m so excited I have told all my girlfriends about it I can even go commando I mean this is freaking awesome when I clean the house that is my biggest issue right there sweating sweating, and places I do not like and then it itches from all the sweat and then you gotta take a freaking shower and it’s like OK why doesn’t somebody make a deodorant you know!, we have the spray why don’t we have a deodorant that stop sweating like we have a gold Bon friction defense for when you wear shorts but why don’t we have this and finally someone has done it and I swear I have had two kids I’m over 35 so going down on my way to old age, It is not easy that’s for sure specially losing weight! I was at 140lbs and after I had my second child I can’t get my weight back down to that..!! and I’m going through testosterone therapy. I mean I am having all kinds of issues and sweating is one of them and this product has solved that issue now using it if you take a lot of showers you’re going to have to reapply. It’s just like deodorant, so yeah you’re gonna go through a lot. Is it worth it 100% it is like this is such a big issue where I’m overweight right now that I am living going to be stocking up on this stuff. This is too good to be true. It’s like a dream every woman’s well big girls dreams like me.

Amazing! But It’s Not A Miracle Worker People.

It truly is a great product. To be honest it doesn’t really work for my underarms but that was to be expected. The only deodorant that’s ever worked for me is Arm & Hammer. So I bought this for my groin and butt area. It honestly works so well. Yes. When you rub it on it has a strong smell, but if you check the area again in 5-15 minutes the strong smell goes away and all that’s left is the scent your purchased. I sometimes get pretty busy and don’t always have time to shower twice a day. Or I might even miss a day completely. And my body always lets me know when I do. With Lume, I definitely smell great for at least 48 hours. So if you’re wondering if you should buy based on the bad reviews. Listen. It’s a deodorant. Not a miracle worker. You still need to shower people. I’m seeing SO many reviews of people who say ‘they went to the gym, went on a 12 mile hike, played about 6 different sports, did hot yoga, rolled around in the dirt with their dogs, then didn’t shower for three days and are claiming it doesn’t work because they smell’…Yeah. You would. It’s not meant to support a shower free lifestyle. It’s supposed to elevate your hygiene, not take care of it for you. You can’t blame a deodorant for inadequate hygiene habits. Not judging, you do you. But if you don’t properly cleanse your body. NOTHING, will stop bacteria from growing. Not to say it doesn’t work for an active lifestyle. I usually always smell after the gym, and now using Lume, I never do. But I also make sure I shower at least 24 hours after I’ve worked out. So as long as manage your expectations and have a decent hygiene method. I think you’ll be pleased.

Works Well For This 78 Year Old

I have read most of the positive/negative reviews and think perhaps this works well for older women who have developed that “yeasty” odor under their breasts and stomachs, as well as those of us who spritz a bit when coughing or laughing. My skin has become quite dry w/age so I shower every other day, and I no longer perspire a lot even with daily exercise. The Tangerine scent has worked well for me in the cream and solid stick. A key tip is to use just a tiny bit as advertised. It is expensive and hopefully the tube will last.I have had no issue with an unpleasant odor arising and have asked family/friends to let me know if an odor becomes noticeable.I generally don’t like the idea of masking natural body odors if they are not strong, but chemical changes in my body necessitate some masking, no matter how light.

    It works!

I am so pleased that this works. I’m 70 years old so other woman in this age range can relate to why I tried Lume. It works great. It has a nice soft baby powder scent and I’m so happy to say that it makes such a difference and gives me confidence for cleanliness. I don’t know if it would work for 72 hours because I don’t go that long without a shower, but I have to say that at least for three days it’s still working. It’s worth the expense and will last a long time because you only use a pea size amount of cream.

    Love it!

I struggled for years trying to find a deodorant that would take care of the smells that resulted from excessive sweating. I have hyperhidrosis which causes other deodorant to basically melt away from my armpits or pill up, gels never dried, sprays never lasted long enough. I tried it all, and then came Lume. I’m finding that I’m sweating less in my armpits, if I do sweat it smells like the deodorant and not BO. I do usually apply twice a day, morning and late afternoon just to maintain freshness and avoid any ripe smells. The coconut is much better than peony. Highly recommend!

    Best thing for me-

I’ve used Degree deodorant since I hit puberty, I’m now premenopausal. Needless to say at 47 and a FL resident I’ve been looking for something to help my BO. I sweat just walking outside in FL. I use the green bottle and have a subscription. I haven’t tried other scents and pretty satisfied because I’m not trying to smell like the scent, but trying to avoid stinking which is what this does. Even while I was sick with the flu and could move for a few days, I tested it to the limits. It works. I know some people complain,But I’m thankful for this and am happy I found something that can help my daughter as she begins to hit puberty and her body begins to change.

    Works!

It really works! I am picky with different lotions on my skin because some are greasy or smell or make me feel dirty within minutes of using. This lotion deodorant was none of these things. I put it on for an extremely important and long day I was about to have. The usual odor wasn’t there and I didn’t feel the normal sweaty, greasy feeling after a long day. I choose the powder scent one and it was a very light smell to begin with and I couldn’t smell it once it was one. I loved the way this absorbed. It is a little expensive but worth it.

Product is excellent but very small for the price

I’ve had my eye in this for awhile but couldn’t justify the price. Finally got on a sale and was surprised at how great the product is. I’m a guy but often use body deodorant for sweat, and prefer floral scents over those specifically marketed to men. The Lume lavender I got not only smelled better than any similar product, it actually left my skin feeling soft and didn’t leave residue or anything. I’m very impressed, however the container was even smaller than I expected and I can’t imagine daily use will last very long.I’d consider buying again but really wish the company would increase the amount. $15-$20 for a small tube practically makes this a luxury item. I provided a size comparison to a similar product that was 1/3 the price. That said it really is the best quality product of this type I’ve tried.
