The Set & Forget Programmable Slow Cooker is equipped with power interrupt protection, so during a momentary power interruption of 5 seconds or less, the slow cooker will remember the programmed heat and time settings and continue cooking.

Easy to use and it cooks great
This is my first slow-cooker so I cannot compare it to others, although I *will* say that I am grateful that it has a ceramic-type cooker so it’s impervious to Vinegar.I only have cooked pot-roast and pinto beans so far. It’s very easy for me to use.

Best Thanksgiving Turkey Breast Roast EVER!
Bought this to took a 4 lb turkey breast roast for Thanksgiving never having made it in a slow cooker before. Turned out absolutely the best turkey I’ve ever had! Moist and tender but flavorful. Used the probe function on high heat until it got to 180. Took about 3 1/2 hours. So happy I bought this.

Doesn’t heat as expected
I’ve been a crockpot queen for years so I’m not new to how a crockpot cooks. But this one’s Low setting is too low, generally never even comes up to a simmer. I have to periodically put it on High to get it going because otherwise things don’t cook as expected. This is disappointing since I think this is my third or fourth Hamilton Beach crockpot over my many decades cooking. I will be searching for a replacement because this truly is annoying because it’s not “set and forget” when it doesn’t come up to temp. Maybe I got the lemon….

Product end user review
Well the thing is good but I have some updates here. The container in which the cooking is done is ceramic and is really good but the outer container in which it stays looks quite cheap. Looks like it is made up of alumnium as it is very light weight. Well the ceramic is quite heavy too and makes it difficult for cleaning.

Still the best crockpot for traveling!
I owned one of the original Set & Forget portable crockpots from Hamilton Beach, and that thing was a beast. Used it constantly for potlucks and gatherings, and it traveled everywhere. When life took a turn and i had to replace my long time battle buddy, i was thrilled to see they still made the same product line. However, there are some issues…The side clamps feel like an unneeded cost cutting measure in that they no longer inspire confidence, but feel cheap and like they will break after a lot of use. They no longer make models that have as many options or programmable features as the older ones, and the interface panel feels thin, like it’s going to crack after a few years of use.The pot is still of similar feel to my last one, and easy to clean, but the shell that the pot sits in doesn’t feel as well built or even insulated as the older models.I guess we had it good with crockpots ~10 years ago and didn’t even know it…

Perfect! Simple to operate and works great!
I studied and researched and tried several others, BUT this machine is easy to use, good quality, and priced right! A great value IMHO! At this price, if it stops working, I will just buy another one. It is very sharp looking and it seems to be of good quality, in comparison to others that are much more expensive. Thank you Amazon and Hamilton Beach!

Works great and not too hot!
I purchased my original identical unit in 2015 and it is still going strong 7 years later. My mom’s ancient rival crock pot died recently and she had replaced it with a new crock pot brand one from a local big box store. She complained that all of her recipes no longer worked as everything was cooking way too hot/fast, even on low. I bought her one of these and she is now happy again as things are back to how they were. An 8 hour on low roast recipe can go the full time and be at that 190 mark at the end with most of the time spent in the sweet spot. Because I remember mine giving off quite a smell when it was new, I washed this new one out thoroughly and then ran three batches of just water filled a little over halfway up. It did give off some smell from the manufacturing oil and maybe the silicone for the first two batches but then stopped completely after that. The high setting test resulted in a reading of 210 at the end of 4 hours and the low test came out to 195 at the end of 8. This doesn’t just blast the temperature right away and boil the whole time like some of the competing brands have started doing I guess for safety reasons. I like that this unit still comes with a heavy removable crock which makes cleanup easy. I like the port hole in the lid as that allows me to use my accurate temperature probe while cooking larger cuts of meat like pork shoulder or roast. I recommend the chef alarm by thermoworks. I have never used the built in probe so I can’t speak to that. The locking lid feature seems a bit flimsy to me but it has worked the couple times I used it. Remember not to store the unit or cook with the lid locked. It is only for transport. The silicone ring on the lid starts off pretty tacky and can be tricky to seat. After the first couple times using it though, that wears off and works great, creating a nice seal. The biggest annoyance for me is the beeps when turning it on or adjusting settings is a bit obnoxious and can’t be disabled. Overall though, it cooks like a crock pot should (low and slow) and has held up so I recommend this one!

Great crocpot!
This is the second Hamilton BeachCrockpot we’ve had in 20 years. They are so sturdy! Very little sticks to the pot because of the smooth surface. Clean up is a breeze. Excellent distribution of heat so food cooks quickly and evenly. Incredibly easy to program. The recipes are so good and cooking time so fast we use it 3-4 times a week. Love it!

I’m liking it so far!
I’m trying to replace a worn out Stay n Go that I’ve used for years. I’ll comment on this as I go along with first use.It was packed sufficiently with box and cut out foam. All parts accounted for. Crock and lid washed in soapy water. I noticed flecks of aluminum on outside of crock or was it places glaze didn’t cover? Former- no prob. Latter- may cause cracking when hot to cold or submerged at length in water (I’ve worked with pottery a good deal.) I docked a point as this may be significant.Reading directions, reasonably easy. Many languages. I noticed that while my former pot had high/low/warm, this newer pot has high/ MEDIUM/ low/ keep warm. Outstanding! It also has a probe to insert, dial in temp ability, dial in temp you want it to reach, then you dial in the level of heat to use to accomplish that. I’m cooking 2 pounds of boneless chicken thighs in barbeque sauce. I am able to tell this slow cooker I want the probe, to reach 170* temp in medium heat then keep it that temp until I’m ready to sear on the grill. I’ll add more when the thighs are ready. The thighs were wonderful, pot roast was tender and moist. Meat loaf I cooked on one side of the crock and baked beans in the other side came out moist. I think the problem I’ve had with slow cookers is I inadvertently over cook meats leaving them dry. Something I’ve noticed: when your food is at the correct temperature, you can choose to have the crock switch to keeping it warm or you can program the pot to maintain the temperature once it is reached. I was perplexed at first why you’d choose that over keeping it warm. I realized that making yogurt required the temp to reach 110* and then hold it for severat hours. I also am making lentil and rice soup- another reason to bring up to temp and hold for an hour or two.Several people noted that the electron “dashboard” was not lighted. Well, in some ways that’s true. But, as you begin by turning the dial, it lights up. As long as you are using the DIAL, it stays lit. After it’s programmed, it goes dark. I discovered today, if you turn the dial a very small amount, the dashboard lights up again. We went camping for a week. I used a smaller slow cooker relegated to the camper. The entire time, I longed for this cooker for it’s ease and precision.I haven’t made yogurt yet. I’ll post when I see how it does.

I love this crockpot
A few months ago, we decided to save money by cooking our own food. (We had been eating Trader Joe’s frozen meals and going out and that gets expensive very quickly.) Thing is, neither my husband nor I love cooking all that much. So I guess it comes as no surprise that I am terrible at it. However, I did come across an awesome blog called a year of slow cooking that presented me with a bunch of easy-to-make recipes in very little time. (Since then I have found other blogs with other recipes: Get Crocked and 365 days of slow cooking for example but a year of slow cooking is still my favorite.) The recipe problem solved, I started cooking using my small, old, and very basic crockpot. And that crockpot was doable but some recipes call for cooking on low for 9 hours; others for 6 and really all I want is to throw the ingredients into the crockpot and forget about it.My old basic crockpot didn’t let me do that. The Hamilton Beach, on the other hand does. And it is so easy to use! I hate electronics (ask my husband) but I can operate this crockpot with ease. You just press the on button (the red circle on the left) then select the time by pushing the up/down arrows on the right, press enter, select the heat setting press enter and you’re done. Once it’s finished, it goes to Warm setting so your food doesn’t spoil. This means that if you set it on a Friday night and want to sleep in Saturday morning, you can. You really don’t have to worry about getting up just to turn off the crockpot. If you are cooking a full chicken or something as big as that you can use the thermometer probe and set your own temperature you want maintained to make sure that meat is cooked properly. It also has one of those lids that locks down with simple lever clamps at each end so now I can be one of “those” people who takes up the office kitchen because we are having a potluck. The lid does have a rubber seal but do be sure to keep it upright because there are small vent holes and a hole for the probe to be inserted through the glass lid.All in all, this really is a set it and forget it crockpot (as advertised). It is also worth noting (because this has been in the news) that Healing Gourmet (a food safety site) lists Hamilton as one of the ten brands to look for when choosing a crockpot and that wirecutter (a site that reviews the gadgets in our lives) tells us that this crockpot “outperformed much more expensive models.” In a couple of negative reviews I have seen, there were complaints about the glass breaking. The instructions say to only clamp down the lid when transporting food. My husband says that there is a good chance that tightening the lid while cooking would put extra stress on the glass making it more likely to break/shatter. So bear this in mind.I admit I haven’t tried those more expensive models (the whole point of using a crockpot to begin with was to save money) but I have to admit I am a little in love with this crockpot and highly recommend it.

Great crockpot! Enjoying the joys of crock pot cooking…. again!
I had donated all of my old crockpots, lol, but kept seeing recipes I wanted to make, so decided to get a new one. This one is great. I especially like the rubber piece lining the inside rim of the cover. It keeps the lid from bouncing, clicking, making noise when liquid is boiling for hours on end.I removed the wire pieces for the lid lock holder – I’ll never transport this full of food. They got in the way a little bit when putting the glass cover on and off, so just took them off. And the booklet says not to cook with the lid locked down, so there is no use for them except for transport.Yes, I have an instapot pressure cooker and thought I’d never use a crock pot again… but I do love getting up in the morning (when I have lots of energy and motivation), making a recipe in the crock pot, leaving it for hours (house smells great), then enjoying a delicious meal at the end of the day. Recommend this one! It’s a beaut.BTW, I hand wash the lid/cover because of that rubber rim. No big deal, just a few swipes with a soapy sponge. And then use dishwasher for ceramic part.

So far, so good!
I was in need of a crock pot upgrade after my old Black & Decker kept overcooking my brisket on low. I was surprised with how affordable this one was! This crockpot is a game changer. I love how you can set the cook to either temperature (and use the included temp gun) or time and also tell it what to do once it reaches either. Needless to say, my next crockpot brisket tacos were not overcooked and perfectly tender with rendered fat!

Versatile slow cooker with probe and temperature
I decided to purchase a new crockpot since the old one lettering wore off and played a guessing game at what temperature. This new Hamilton Beach is such a joy to cook with a lot more options and the probe is so handy in cooking roasts. My first try with the probe produced a perfectly cooked pork loin, and a beef roast. Having the probe is a game changes for perfectly cooked meat. You are able to choose the temperature you want for your meat. The program and manual setting are so handy for choosing your slow cooker times and temperature. High, low, warm, and after cooking complete it automatically goes to warm. So happy with this purchase.

I LOVE this crockpot!!
I am a serious home cook, and have only used the Crockpot brand in the past. I have a smaller crockpot, but wanted a second larger slow cooker for bigger meals & meats (like ribs, larger roasts, etc). I was hesitant to try another brand, but WOW I am obsessed with this! The temperature gauge that can be inserted without removing the lid is perfect, no more over-cooked pot roast! It is nice and large, the lid locks are sturdy, and I love the keep warm feature. I used it non-stop this holiday season, and it’s definitely a winner!

I love this slow cooker
Great features. Unlike that very popular brand that everyone has owned at one point or another, this slow cooker cooks evenly, doesn’t stick and burn your pot, doesn’t have that terrible “crockpot” flavor, and much easier to clean. This is my 2nd purchase because we lost our 1st one when we moved.

The Best Slow Cooker I’ve Owned!
When I ordered this, I was especially excited for the temperature probe feature as well as the locking lid. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had someone remove the lid and not put it back on properly, or it gets bumped out of place. This solves that problem, and also prevents splatter from coming out of the edges when the crock is full. I’ve had mine now over 3 and a half years. Not a single problem yet! I’ve used it for all kinds of things including infusing oil with herbs, slow roasting, making dips and various soups, fruit butters, you name it. The performance of this machine is top notch. I’ll be buying a second one soon because I use this one so much!WELL worth the price.

Excellent new version of an older model
Our old model Hamilton Beach cooker lasted 9 years. The ceramic insert was still in perfect shape, the cord was in perfect shape, the lid and temp probe were like new. But the touchscreen (flexible membrane) and old-fashioned LED display were almost useless in the last couple years. The heat worked and food still cooked but the display became unreadable. New model: the display and controls have been redesigned with up-to-date components. This is identical in dimensions to the prior model we owned (model 33969A) so we can still use the old lid as a spare, insulated carry bag, and even the ceramic liner as a spare. This new design should last years, hopefully longer than its predecessor. I’m an electronics technician. I disassembled the old model when it failed and as expected it wasn’t designed to be repaired. I approve of this new model’s design improvements.

Do NOT buy used like new
It arrived in an oversized box and its manufacturer box but not one lick of styrofoam, padding, paper, or bubble wrap. It was dented like the moon. We got a replacement at full price… it did not come double boxed but at least it had styrofoam inside the manufacturer box…we will see this weekend if it works. Fingers crossed.
