Decent shears for less
Growit says these shears are Super Sharp. I’ll have to agree with them on that, very sharp indeed. In fact, my expensive Corona pruning shears have a tendency to fold over and not cut the New Zealand flax fronds when I try to prune them. The Growit shears slice through nice and clean. They do cut a 3/4 inch branch as well, per their claim. I tried several cuts on a fig limb of that size. I know my wife would not be able to open the snips up that far with her small hand but that’s why we have loppers. She can fit these in her hand to cut smaller things no problem. But a larger hand is needed to cut the big stuff. The Growit does seem to snap closed a little more harshly than my Corona’s. That is to say, when the shears make it all the way through the material and reach the built in stop. I tried to compare the 2 shears and figure out why; the bottom jaw of the 2 are identical in curve, but the upper blade of the Growit has more curve to it and hence different leverage along it’s length. They end up having different charactaristics depending on where the material is along the cutting edge. The Growit’s will have an advantage toward the tip and the Corona’s toward the throat. That’s my best guess anyway. The extra foam sleeve on the handles adds to the comfort but after an hour or so I removed them. Underneath is a very ergonomic and sturdy rubberized grip moulded around the aluminum casting. I suspect the handles will last forever. It has been shaped for use in the right hand, however. You can use it in the left hand, but it is shaped for the right. Maybe that’s why they put the extra foam on there, to accomodate southpaws. For the price point these are 5 star tool but can’t compare to the forged steel strength of the Corona’s. But again, they are less than half the cost. I’m going to save these for “finesse” pruning and used the Corona’s for the crude, heavy pruning.

Works well on growing shoots up to 1/2 inch or so!
Got these today, and since it has been perfect fall gardening temps outside, have used them extensively for several hours.I have a few observations:< My wife says they are a bit clunky/large for her small hands (she wears a "Small" glove and that glove is a bit large for her). I, on the other hand, wear a size XXL glove, and find these things a bit small for me. So, if you have hands between these two extremes, you'll probably be happy with their size!< They are SHARP! They should be, being brand new, but the feel of the blade sliding along and cutting so smoothly is reassuring that they will remain sharp for a while.< They work better on green shoots than on dead, dry branches of a tree. The wild rosebushes and raspberry plants had no chance against them. I was easily able to cut them almost without exertion except for reaching and grabbing efforts. The limbs, on the other hand, were a bit tough to get cut if I tried to do anything larger than 1/2 inch.< The cushioning of the handles is substantial, absorbs a lot of the effort/strain to cut the tree limbs. I just wish they were a little bit more ERGONOMIC -- they stretch too wide open to be comfortable. If they had more curve to them, it would be much better suited to the motion of opening and closing for repeated strokes/cuts.When my wife and I clear/reclaim land on our property where summer growth had gotten out of control, she'll alternate between a weed eater and a lopping shears to get everything to ground level. Some of the new tree growth get way too tall to fit into our burn circle, so I then cut them to length and haul them to be the place where I'll burn them. We used to share the lopping shears, but now I can store these in a back pocket and whip them out when needed. I like that. I also like that they have a good strong spring to spread the handle for me, and a good strong locking mechanism to keep the blades locked together when in my pocket.Highly recommended! Gets my full 5-star rating!

Heavy Duty, Carbon Steel Bypass Pruning Shears
This is my second pair of by-pass hand pruners featuring nearly identical parts and design. Like my older pair, this pair is comfortable in the hand, features heavy duty construction, cuts well, and seems durable. These weigh 8.6 oz. which is 0.8 oz. less than the older pair even though this newer pair has a wider (not longer) cutting blade. They come packaged with an information card that says the blade is made of “High Carbon Steel SK5” and makes no mention of titanium despite the claim on the product page. The card also gives a maximum cutting diameter of 3/4”, higher than the 1/2” listed on the webpage. These shears are a good product, but they do not appear to be “Premium Titanium” or Titanium at all based on the information card, so minus 1 star.

Very good pruning shears
These are fairly standard pruning shears but with a few enhancements. The soft rubber grips make the shears more comfortable to use. The blade is insanely sharp; cutting through a 1/2 inch thick branch was effortless. These seem very well made. Lock works as expected. The Amazon web page states that the cutting parts are made of SK5 steel and the blade is titanium-coated. SK5 is a high-carbon steel, so it will rust. It may be necessary to occasionally wipe the metal parts with mineral oil to protect them. In addition, having the blade titanium-coated means that sharpening it will remove the coating. Despite this, these seem like really good shears and I’m happy to have them.

Sharp and Comfortable
I used these to cut back my plants for the fall and it was so easy. The blades are sharp and the handles have a comfortable grip. I cut plants that were over a half inch thick and it was like I was cutting butter. Made my fall job much easier than usual.

Great Clippers!
I do a lot of yardwork, and have used many small pruners similar to this. Some cost less, and some cost more. With that said, I really like these. They’re very sharp. The operation is smooth and the lock works better than most. But, my favorite feature with this tool is the comfortable soft grip. It is easy to hold, even on larger cuts.Overall – A great tool and useful tool at a really reasonable price.

Very comfortable and easy to use. Also very sharp
These are extremely comfortable to use. The super soft padded grips feel very nice in the hand. The spring reopens them nicely, and they are very sharp. The locking mechanism is easy to use and can probably be done one handed, but I had to use my other hand most of the time. It came with a card that had a QR code on it about avoiding the three dangerous mistakes you could make with these, but it brought up a blank page (pictured). All in all these appear to be very nice pruning shears that will be comfortable and less tiring to use. I wonder how long the very soft handle padding will hold up. That is my main concern, but only time will tell.

High quality!
These are seriously the best shears I have had in years. I go through a lot of garden shears and, if I don’t loose that spring, this one should last me a while. It feels great on the hand, it has a certain weight, and a comfortable grip. It comes with extra padding on the handle (neoprene I think) which might not last but it’s removable. The blade is so sharp that I could cut a sheet of paper with it. Usually garden shears are not good for that.If it didn’t have that rust-prone spring, it would be perfect plus.

These pruning shears are sharp. They are easy to grasp and they stay firm in the hand. I like the design mechanism it has. It is very easy and comfortable to maneuver. I feel like these will last a very long time. Great shears for our garden at home.

Good shears but not premium quality. But inexpensive so there are trade offs.
Shears are good but not real premium. Handles are wrapped in a cheap spongy material that will certainly beak down. Blade cutting is quite smooth but not as clean as a premium product. For the occasional use I purchased for and for half the price of a premium brand, these shears are just fine.

Getting the job done!
I love the fact that the giant bush with limbs beside my fire escape, 2nd floor, will never grow onto the fire escape again, grow up my brick walls and grow in to my window screen again! Yes, it happened! These pruning shears are perfect for the size of limbs it says and a but more as well. Sharp, easy to use and my best friend dealing with pruning problems. Nice Easy to Use Shears
Very nice pair of clippers for general garden work at a very reasonable price. The blade lock is easy to engage or disengage and in general the clippers seem well made. The blade itself is pretty sharp and has no trouble cutting through most of the branches I tried it on and will probably last if you take care of them and not try to overdo their capabilities. It will cut live branches easily and I actually cut some that were about an inch in diameter. If you are cutting dead branches I wouldn’t go over a half inch in size. A simple guide is to cut only what you can do with one hand easily. If you have to resort to cutting with both hands, you’re asking too much of these and will shorten their lifespan. The handles are comfortable, but I’ve had similar coverings on some other tools and frankly they didn’t last very long. Maybe this soft foam is better, but don’t be surprised if after a few years it starts falling apart. The shears will still work…but they’ll show some wear…like your comfortable shoes or work gloves.Overall, the clippers work well, seem well made and are priced right. I’m happy with them.

These are a nan’s man pruners! They are ideal for a man and
They are great for a man and even women if they aren’t too tiny. I’ve got a small girlfriend and my original intention was to have these in a cabinet on my back deck and move the one I had there to a cabinet off my wood shed so they’d be readily available for both sides of my property. There’s a constant need for pruning living in the woods. These will end up in the front yard as my gf found they were too big for her smaller hands. She doesn’t do much in the front of the property anyway. It’s a shame as these are much sharper than the older pair and easily handle most of our trimming needs.

Padded handle, easy to cut with, poor fitting locking mechanism.
Nicely padded handles, smooth operating open and cutting. Locking tab is not well designed and requires two hands as you can’t push or pull it with your thumb as other pruning shears I have, it requires using your other hand as it pushes in from a weird angle and does’t fit in the notch well, barely stays locked.

So far these are great
I’ve had to do and still need to prune many plants, these work very nicely. Love the comfort of the handle feel as if gives me more power for my cut. Works very well, very sharp well worth it. Durability is great the last pair didn’t even last a year, I see these lasting much longer. I would definitely recommend as a gift or for self thank you 😊

Great performer
Great pair of pruners; I’ve used them over and over on soft, woody, and and other types of plant life. Occasionally they annoy me by locking up…the switch moves on its own to the “off” position. When busy clip-clip-clipping and suddenly I do clip-clip-clip-HALT!!!!…it is annoying. Also…they are black…easy to blend into the yard…I have attached colored cord to mine.

These are Great
I ordered these for my husband because his current pruners were so old and rusted that I figured they would fall apart any day. These are nice pruners for the price. The blades are nice and sharp, and they are easy to use with their smooth opening and closing mechanism. The grips of these new shears are much more comfortable with their ergonomic design so he will be able to work longer without his hands becoming sore.

Excellent pruners – especially at this price-point
These pruners are very comfortable to hold and use and they cut very well. I also like the large “mouth” which is great when cutting larger branches. It’s too early to report on the longevity of the blade but at this price, these are ‘a steal’.

Heavy duty & cuts with ease
I make leis and floral arrangements and use these daily. After a month or so of using these every day, they STILL work great. The handles have gotten soaked, dropped in the sand, mud, etc. and the sheers still work perfectly. I used the sheers to cut the flowers & and plants used in these arrangements. If you struggle with grip strength, I would highly recommend getting these. Especially for older folks, these sheers are very easy to use. It requires little to no effort to cut plants with these. With this in mind, these sheers are sharp af! I sliced my finger on accident. I was holding the sheers and the plant in a weird way that’s why.Super stoked that I have these. I am able to get a lot more done quicker! Beats having to use my generic kitchen scissors for flower-related tasks.

Great feel and good cutting action
I used these to do some pruning on several different plants and several different stem/branch thicknesses. They worked well in each instance. They were sharp and strong and provided clean, easy cuts without much effort. The grip is comfortable. They have a locking mechanism that is easy to lock or unlock with the thumb on the hand holding the shears. These are not for very big jobs, but great for pruning thin to medium stems and branches. You can get fairly precise cuts with these.I am very pleased so far, and will post updates if anything changes after they have seen a season of use, but hopefully, if I take proper care of them, they will continue to perform.

Comfortable grip to snip, snip, snip
I used these mainly to trim my tomatoes and zucchini plants. The padded grip is wonderful for extended pruning sessions. I would keep it out of the elements to avoid rain and sun damage. I don’t foresee the pads lasting too long if left outside. Always wipe down the shears after each use.

Good quality and easy to use
These are shaped like pretty much every version of handheld pruning shears out there. They have a nice foam cover on the handles that make them pretty comfortable to use. The open and close with little effort, the spring does a good job.I cut through some 1/2″ tree branches with no problem, I didn’t test it all they way up to its 3/4″ claim but I bet with enough pressure you will be able to cut through. I would just use a larger two handed version if the branch is getting that big.Only negative that I can see is that the lock lever is made of plastic not metal. I don’t know if this will make a difference or if it will break in the future but another similar shear I have uses a metal lock. For now it doesn’t seem to be a problem.

Great Shears!
These things can cut! They come pre-oiled, so you can use them right away. The grip is shaped for right handed people, so lefties might be out of luck!I’ve cut hard branches about half an inch thick, and haven’t had an issue. These shears helped me clean up my yard quickly and it looked great after just an afternoon. They’re also sharp enough to cut through little thin soft yard things too, so they’re very versatile.
