How to choose the right garden pruner, Bypass or Anvil?
With a bypass cutting tool, you draw a curved or straight blade past another blade — this creates a scissor-like motion that works well for cutting live green plants. The spongy, firm outer wall surrounding the stem yields easily to that bypass motion.
With an anvil cutting tool, you bring down a straight blade against a wide anvil usually made of steel or hard rubber. Anvil pruners are better suited for dead and dried-out plants — the crushing motion causes the brittle stem to kind of explode and separate.

Quality blade made of Premium Titanium steel with Ultra-fine Polishing Technology.
Ergonomically designed non-slip handles are strong, lightweight, and comfortable.

So far, so good
I just replaced my old ones and BIG DIFFERENCE! It wouldn’t be fair to review these since I’ve only used them twice, but I do appreciate the nice weight and lock. I am taking extra care of them because I expect to use them a lot.

All they say is true. They’re honest about the 3/4” max diameter, that in itself is reason to buy.
Good product, honest statement from manufacturer

Works great and comfortable to use!
Recently bought these, so far so good. I do like the handles that are easy to grip and have some padding. The lock on them is very easy to use and works well. I have had many pairs of these in past and so far I like these the best!

Best Clippers I’ve Ever Owned
I live in an area with tons and tons of “scrub” palms that need to be trimmed constantly. These clippers do the job easily. Love them so much that I bought some for my husband. Needs encouragement, but he does use them and likes them!

I have not used this item yet as it is not pruning season. Feels good in my hand and appears to be structurally sound.

Very tough blade
I’ve been using this same brand for 3 years and I have a lot of grape vines. This is my second pair that I bought as a back up. I have never had to sharpen them so the blade steel is awesome. The only negatives are the foam may slip down the handle once in a while and the shears sometimes unlock on their own. I may put some florescent paint on them as I’ve almost lost them a few times. Overall very good.

Medium Level Pruners
First time buying this style hand pruner. The product description says it’ll cut up to 3/4″. I have a variety of tree suckers growing in both my front and back yard. Getting these to cut 3/4″ requires a LOT of hand strength. Otherwise they look and feel nice.

Multiple pairs
It never pays to buy cheap hand clippers! These are heavy duty, feel good in my hand, and such an improvement over my “cheap” pair which I recently had to use because I lost my other good pair. These are great.

East to handle and use.
It’s fun to do garden trimming and pruning when you you have the right tools and frustrating when you don’t. This one restored that fun with its easy comfortable grip and sharp, properly curved, blade.

Very Nice
I bought these for my husband for Father’s Day, because he likes to prune our bushes and he has been using scissors. He has large hands and he was so excited to get these, because they are perfect for him. He has had no complaints about them. He has large hands and these are an exceptional quality and they work perfectly. There is a reason that these are rated at the top on Amazon, and one of the main reasons I purchased them. I am glad I did.

happy with this – but it loosens by itself
Beware that the screw holding the blades together will loosen by itself. It was simple enough to get a philips head screwdriver and tighten it back up but it took me a minute to figure out what was happening when all of a sudden, mid-pruning, I couldn’t get anything to cut anymore.

Perfectly ok light duty pruners
These were recommended and well-reviewed, and they are a perfectly fine light duty pruner.Unfortunately, I was looking for a replacement for the Fiskars EA0312 which are no longer available and which, imo, have a couple of features that buyers should consider when comparing:1). The Fiskars has a hard, “rubberized” coating on the hand grips which I find more comfortable with long use that the spongier, foam-like coating of the grip of the Gonicc.2). There is a more pronouced “rest” for the crook of the thumb on the Fiskars which I find to be more ergonomic and a better grip surface compared to the Gonicc. The Gonicc’s work fine and I certainly will grab them for light-duty trimming. Maybe it is unfair of me to compare it to a product that is no longer available; however, I think it’s fair to say that the much higher-priced Felco pruners would likely be a better choice for those who would use the product frequently or for long periods.

Comfortable Grip/Sharp Blade
It is so nice to have a new set of pruning shears that actually cut well with little effort. I have rheumatoid arthritis, so anything that helps my hands to keep gardening and trimming is a miracle. I love these shears! I have small hands, yet these are easy to hold and effortless to use. I highly recommend them.

made me look like a fool
The first two piles are twigs, limbs, and branches. Too many v shapes that they would not go down my wood chipper. Decided to try these pruning shears. As you can see from what I had to start with (1st picture) to where my finger is showing what happened to the pile of shrubs after I cut them into sections that will go down into my wood chipper. My finger shows you what will now go down my wood chipper chute, and next to that on the left of the pile is the cumbersome, cut up sections of twigs and branches that kept getting caught on my gloves. No more issues, and will finish all this pile up 2morrow. Have been waiting for a whole day and a half from amazon for these and my work is almost done. I’m quite pleased.

Sharp, Strong, and Comfortable. What more could you ask out of pruning shears?
Update: I had the retaining screw that holds the lock sprocket for the center sprocket strip out. This allowed the center sprocket to loosen and come undone. I contacted Gonicc by email, and within hours had an email back apologizing for my troubles and had a discount code to order a new pair for free. They also included in the email that should I still be unsatisfied they would gladly refund my entire purchase price. Unbeatable customer service!!!————————————————————————————————————-These are great pruners. I have really enjoyed using them in my rose garden since receiving them. Here’s some thoughts:Pros- Price. I feel these were very reasonably priced for the quality that you get. So much so in fact, that I bought two pairs, one pair for me and one for my wife.- Sharp! These things are incredibly sharp. I also found that when trimming thick rose canes, they cut clean through and don’t tend to turn sideways making tearing cuts like some other cheap pruners I’ve used.- Ergonomic. The foam grips on the handles don’t bite into your hands like pruners with plastic and metal handles can tend to do. They are really comfortable. I do feel that this is where they could fail after long-term use. I think that there’s a chance that this foam will break down and/or tear. I wouldn’t say this is a deal breaker, as that’s the nature of such a material. We’ll see how long they last and if the manufacturer can provide replacement grips should they do fail.Cons:None to report for now.Overall, these are superb pruning shears. They have already taken a beating in my rose garden and remain sharp, with no issues to report. They cut great and I look forward to using them for a long time. Time will truly tell how well they last. If they make it more than two years, I will consider them a resounding success, as that’s all I’ve got out of any other pair that I’ve owned.I hope I have helped your purchasing decision of this product. Great Pruners
I use these for dead heading 60 roses. It works well and doesn’t cause any hand fatigue. It is strong enough to use on small branches as well. It gives a nice clean cut with very little effort. Absolutely recommend it. I thought I might need something more expensive, but these did the job nicely.

I snipped a lot of stuff, and I gave it 4 stars because it sometimes goes sideways and the blades go apart, when I try to clip branches that it wasnt made to/are too large for/ it to clip.

The sheers were good and sharp but seemed a flimsy when I cut. They felt like the blade was bending out on thicker branches of the bush.

Sharp trimmer, but i’m a little disappointed
Having read all the stellar reviews, I was excited to buy these pruning shears as the one I had was so dull and needed replacing. This one cuts nice and sharp, no issues there, but I was disappointed at the spring. When you close the shears to cut a branch/twig (whatever), the one I received does not spring back open easily. I often have to manually open them back up after each clip. I tried squirting a little WD-40 on it to loosen it up but to no avail. It needs a more powerful spring or something.

Good pruning shears for the money, but very difficult to lock
As a senior woman, I needed something easier to grip with a good cut. These are very nice, but was not possible for me to lock them. I had to take a carpet cutter and small metal file to whittle down the plastic end that is supposed to swing up and lock in place. It’s still not perfect, but will lock part of the way–enough that I don’t feel it’s going to spring open.

The pair I have were difficult to reopen after making a cut which fatigues your hands
They are sturdy shears which make clean cuts and are easy to maneuver. My only complaint is that they do not reopen easily after making a cut.
