Picky betta loves this
I alternate this with my other food coz my betta is very very picky. He loves it! The size varies, there are small and large pieces but my fish can put it in his mouth. Its been a month and he is still chomping this down like no one’s business 🤣 buy this for your spoiled picky eater betta, you won’t regret it.

Great quality and perfect size pellets
I saw the Fluval Bug Bites recommended by many betta fish owners on the internet so I went with these. Initially my betta wasn’t eating the Aqueon pellets because they were too large and I ordered these (my LFS didn’t carry this). Immediately my betta happily gobbled up the bite-size pellets. I like that the granules vary slightly in size so now while he’s still growing, I can give him the smallest bits. Plus, the ingredients are much better quality than a lot of other popular brands.

Only food my betta will eat
I’ve had many bettas through the years, and while most of them have been happy with various freeze dried foods, daphne, brine shrimp, blood worms, etc. my current betta will ONLY eat this food. It’s unfortunate really because the food doesn’t float so I have to feed him piece by piece and missed pieces result in the tank getting dirtier faster, but honestly I’m just glad I finally found something he’ll eat.

Betta Fish Loved It!
We have been using the Fluval Bug Bites Bottom Feeder Granules for years for most of our fish in our tanks. Recently, we acquired a betta fish that did not like any food that we had in stock. We tried this since we have experience with Fluval’s products and our betta was very pleased. Will continue to use this for our betta. Great price, too!

Betta was unsure/neutral at first but goes crazy for them now
The first day I fed my betta one of the pellets sunk (like some of the other reviews mentioned) and he didn’t go after it, so I thought maybe he didn’t like these that much. At least he didn’t seem to hate it and still ate the rest. All good I’ll just make sure to drop in one pellet at a time. BUT the next day I guess he realized how nutritious these new pellets are and will now gobble up even the ones that start to sink/fell to the bottom. I still like to drop one at a time just in case. Writing this review almost a whole month after purchase 10/10 very happy I bought this

Fluval betta food
My betta likes this food,the reason that I took a star away is because when I feed him the food, it floats for only a second or 2 and it sinks to the bottom of aquarium, my fish won’t eat it from the bottom

Betta fish love this
I have 3 female bettas and they all love this food. I give a variety and have about 5 diff foods that I rotate with but I’m noticing they’ll spit out the other food and wait for me to finally give in and give them this lol. It’s also fun to see them dive down to go get the bits that start to sink lol. Nice price and quantity as well.

Small enough for the baby fish that I started with

Tuco loved it
The pellets don’t float very long, and that’s that I turned off the bubbler. Either way, my Betta, Tuco Salamanca (he is more violent than most) and my two tetras (The Twins) look great and I’ve only given this to them for the last week. Tuco seems more energized and digests the food easier than the Walmart crap.

These are super tiny pellets!
It comes as a tiny bottle but the pellets themselves are super small sized. It’s hard to be able to pour out the exact 2-3 pellets that my Betta needed but he really likes the pellets and comes up the surface the moment I plop a pellet down.

Get it
Perfect size for bettas (including young ones) to eat. Floats for an appropriate time. If it sinks any bottom feeders will def munch on it. I recommend it.. invest in quality food. Top fin, Aqueon, etc will not meet your fish’s needs.Of course, always feed other frozen food etc. Not just bug bites. But it’s definitely a great component to your fish’s diet.

Great purchase
I’ve found that I’ve been happy with all my Fluval products, and when my beta didn’t seem to like the fish food I had bought at the local fish store, so I decided to give this a try. He never spits these out and seems to like them a lot more. This means less food waste, a happier fish, and a happy owner. I’m so happy I found them.

Betta Loves It
I have a female betta that is absolutely spoiled in her 10 gallon tank and multiple live plants and driftwood. She didn’t like the first brand of food I got her and often spat it out. I was recommended this by other betta fish keepers. Needless to say, she absolutely loves this stuff and so do my guppies. Will continue to get in the future.

It’s great. I crush them up and allow him to go at it just because the size of the pebbles are kinda big sometimes but he loves them. They’re fairly small but some pieces are bigger than others. So I just mush them.

As with one of the other food pellets, these right here, are the number one hit! My beta is a happy fishy again, he’s very lucky and he only like maybe 3 kinds of fish food! These are his favorite, thank God for these, there extra tiny, he gobbles them up, he’s so much more active and it’s full of good stuff, a must have , get your loved fish some of these, he will so much love you back!!, what a difference in him, just from a little different sized food and better ingredients, so recommend 😁

Quality, size, + overall review. In-Depth + 2 Month Update
I bought this in July 2023 when my old man wasn’t eating his Aqueon Betta Pellets. Those pellets are MASSIVE for bettas. They were going to expire in August, so I had seen reviews on this food. I bought it and since my old man was partially blind (diamond eye), I had bought a pack of pipettes too. He loved these, even tho he couldn’t see! Prior to buying this, I bought the Omega-One Betta Buffet Pellets, which are affordable + quality! He loves both + I now have a set feeding station for him to get to easily! He refused the Aqueon and now I can never go back to the cheap foods.My rescue GloBetta is also half-blind; missing eye. She is in a temporary setup, and I also plan to get her a feeding station too! She’s been raised on the awful GloBetta Formula Pellets which smell like Play-Doh and look grossly yellow. She seems like she likes it, but I’ll test that soon.On the other hand, my shrimp is the best biased audience for this product. If they could write reviews, it’d be a hundred 5 stars. SMH, I give them their own individual pellets with Omega-Ones, and they love both. 💀 They literally reach for them and snatch it like I’ll take it back. They’re so cuteThese are kind of sharp, so I’d recommend pre-soaking or crushing the sharper edges. The pellets has a lot of different sizes and sometimes they’ll all fall out with smaller pellets or get clogged with the bigger pellets. I’d shake them up every so often.Overall, I would buy again if I run out! Really good quality + if you can afford it, do it! The bettas and shrimps will love these!

Betta loves it.
It is small pellets and that’s what he likes. The bottle top looked easier to just shake it out. but it only lets the powder out ( all pellets have some powder) . Some of it floats but not all. He loves the pellets he can get to. I’ve never seen him attack another food like he does this. He even tries to grab a few on their way down. I have bottom feeders that swim over to clean up what he misses. I will buy this again.

My betta loves this food!
I got a betta recently, and found out that he was used to eating frozen bloodworms. I didn’t have any of those on hand, so I tried flake food with him. He turned his head at it, so I turned to this after a few days of grace period (to make sure he was settled in his new home and it was truly because he didn’t like the flake food rather than stress). Offered this and he gobbled it up immediately. He comes to the surface every day and eats a handful of these pellets, which are very small and easily eaten by him and the shrimp that share his tank. Highly recommend

My betta loves these! I just got my package and gave him some immediately. He went right for them! I was giving him betta pellets but he didn’t seem too interested and when he would eat them he’d spit them out because they were too big. I’m so glad he likes these ones.

Yummy
My koi betta loves this food. It does sink fast sometimes but he enjoys chasing it and gobbling it up. He will not eat any other food. Doesn’t cloud the water but try to remove excess pieces. The bottle is great for storage and dispenses the right amount with a few shakes.

Not slow sinking
My betta fish likes the food (hence the second star). The problem is that the food only stays on top of the tank for less than a second and then sinks like a rock. So, my fish is lucky to eat one granule before the rest falls to the bottom. While not shown on the picture of the product on the site, my container says “Slow sinking micro granules” — which is not the case.

My betta(s) love this, and so do I
As of writing this, I have only had this for a couple of days. However, there has been a huge positive change in my betta’s eating behavior. I used to feed my betta Aqueon betta food, but the granules were kind of big and I was always worried that my betta was going to get one stuck or something. he would also take a while to eat, so much so I had to sit there and drop his food in one or two pellets at a time.I decided to buy this after I read in a forum that the Aqueon pellets had a lot of filler. The forum recommended I try this and for the price I figured it wouldn’t hurt.I have never seen my betta so quick to get every little pellet he sees. He is in love with them. I still have to sit and pace out how much I put in at a time, but that’s so he doesn’t just inhale his food all at once.If it continues to be my betta’s favorite thing ever I will definitely buy again.Edit: I’ve had them for a bit of time now, and the only issue I’ve had was accidentally over feeding because of the size of the pour hole. That led to some issues where my boy was a bit constipated and the excess food and poop threw the ammonia cycle off balance. HOWEVER, all of that can be prevented by counting out the pellets and skipping using the pour hole in the lid. In fact I recommend transferring the food to a different container with a larger lid so you can grab with your fingers a little easier.Edit (update June 24 2020): my boy had died months back, but I have had my beautiful girl Margo for 5-6 months now and it’s her absolute favorite, she is much more active and eats a lot more so I don’t need to count out the pellets. This is by far my favorite fish food I’ve ever picked up.

Food mostly sinks once placed on top of water
While I am no fish food expert and it does appear that this food has high quality ingredients. However, when even gently spreading some of the food on the top of the water, the food pebbles immediately sink and my 3 year old beta isn’t fast enough to get to them before they hit the gravel. Some of the food does stay on top, but most of it sinks. For this – three stars. The other food I had from pet store was slightly bigger and would float on top – and he would get to all of his ~10 pebbles daily.

Bettas think it’s delicious
I was feeding my bettas aqueon betta pellets from the pet store. They worked fine until I got my latest rescue betta who is blind. He had a hard time finding the pellets and I think he couldn’t smell them or maybe just didn’t like them. I started looking into higher quality foods and found this. Right away, he found these and ate them happily. My other bettas love them too. The pellets are also smaller in size making them easier to eat. It really replicates their natural diet more than most fish food.

Easily digestible but a little big
My betta likes this food. I also found he will poop regularly on this type of fish food. The only drawback is that the size of each pellet can be a bit big for my betta and he will sometimes spit it out. So I have to use my nail to break it in half or smash it between my fingers to whittle the size down. It also sinks pretty fast. So far this is the best food I’ve found that he likes that also doesn’t cause constipation.

Lip smacking good!!
My flaming fury absolutely loves his new betta food. He’s a very picky eater with a tiny mouth. Other betta foods were either too big for him, or he just didn’t like and refused to eat. I was trying to cut his food up and everything, but nothing was working. I started to get scared that he wasn’t getting the proper nutrition, so I started my online search for a better option. Good thing that I did because he’s crunching and munching these little pellets like nobody’s business. I also got him the “Ultra fresh Betta pro shrimp Patties” because I didn’t know what would work for him. He does love both so I alternate his food. He literally does back flips, side shuffle, two step and the Harlem shake whenever I even go near his tank now. He seriously loves this food. They do tend to sink really fast, but he actually digs around on the bottom of his tank to find any run away pellets. This is coming from a fish that had absolutely zero interest at feeding time. Now he’s starting to get a little Buddha belly going on, so yeah…… he likes it. His colors are nice and vibrant too, so I know that the nutrition is there for him. He is now single and looking to mingle because he makes nice bubble nests now.

He loves it!
The pellets are inconsistent in size, but overall they are small enough. He gets about 6 pellets every night and 6 pellets of Northfin betta pellets in the morning. He likes these better, but enthusiastically eats both. Since I changed his diet from Aqueon, he’s completely changed color from marbled white and grey to a dark slate blue with pink fringe.

Better quality Less fillers
Black Soldier fly larvae is great for Bettas but can be high in fat. So suggest using other Betta foods and not using it everyday. My fish likes it but I soak all pellet foods for a minute because Bettas have a tendency to have poor digestion causing them to bloat and have swim bladder disorders. This is one of the better pellet foods for Bettas. Soak the pellets with garlic juice and or Vita Chem for optimal vitamins for their immune health.

Sinks immediately
My betta liked it fine, but it doesn’t float. It’ll stay a float until the milliseconds it takes to break the water tension, leaving you with a mess if you don’t have a Turkey baster by the tank (or pro sized vacuum). Byumba prefers Hikari, which have the perfect worm shape, thin and floats for a minute.

My betta’s didn’t like the other few brands, but love bug bites and seem much healthier. I crushed to smaller pieces while they were young, now the big pieces are perfect for old ones.

My betta boy’s favorite
My bettas love this stuff. I just wish I didn’t have to break up chunks of buggy stuff to get the pieces consistently small enough for three of my four bettas. I wish it came with pellet size options. I can see larger the larger pieces being great for a king betta or larger betta, but they’re too much for most of my guys.
