    Excellent Printer

This is an excellent printer but is not the easiest to use when printing with IPad or iPhone. The air print option doesn’t work in the normal way so you have to open the options icon (arrow in a square) next to :Print’ and then select ‘Print with Epson’ This assumes you have already installed the Epson Smart Panel to enable wifi connection.

This printer was everything my man wanted for Christmas!

Quiet, efficient, easy to set up, no ink spills (the filling method was seamless) we tried a colour document and a photo and both were very high quality, would highly recommend for home office.

Imagine a tech savvy person setting this up for 2hrs50mins

Since when do you need location access to setup a printer? The app was clunky, and the dumb need to go through the app to print is so dumb. The print speed is SLOW.The quality from the first test (after “printing” a few BLANK! pages), is not great. And I’m using 100gsm Navigator ultra smooth paper…I’ll test the printing some more, but as i got this to print A LOT of copies at a time (the real use case)This is NOT looking good. And there’s no double printing?Setup, printing, quality of print is not looking good from my first impressions. The 4/5 star ratings are baffling.Total BS.Did we get the same printer?Hey Apple, the printer space is looking wide open.UPD: Printed a fully B&W only page and the result is bad.Returned.On the plus side? The print from everywhere aspect by emailing an attachment to your printer’s registered email, worked flawlessly. It just takes a while. And uses a page to say who sent the document for printing…PLUS multiple emails saying print job received and successful.Hey Epson, you can skip the paper wasting “info” printout, and only send ONE email notification; so at least if there was no such email, you’ll know it wasn’t setup correctly somewhere (or mistyped), as opposed to no email altogether. No unnecessary paper waste then.

    Easy!

Always had epson printers but first time with ecotank. Arrived quickly and well packaged. Thought it might be confusing to set up but it was so easy. First prints were perfect! Had to set up using usb as my pc isn’t wireless. So easy using the supplied disc. Very pleased!

Check what it will do before buying

The print quality is excellent and the ink lifetime is a great bonus. But.… .It does not do double sided, my fault for not checking. The app makes you scan each page as a separate file, my previous HP would allow me to put multiple pages In a single docSo check what you really need. I didn’t.

Easy to set up but can’t connect to macbook air

This was easy to set up the printer as long as you follow the instructions from the app. The only problem I had was I failed to connect in my macbook. It was smooth sailing from my iphone and ipad but I had a hard time figuring out how to.connect in my macbook even until now I can’t print directly from my.macbook. I followed videos from youtube but it just does not connect which is a bit annoying.

    Fair little printer but…..

It’s a good printer for the price but buyer beware, it has no Air Print function. It’ll print via an App over WiFi using the App which is sort of ok, but no Air Print is a pain that I didn’t foresee. My bad, I suppose.

    Poor print quality

The printer is very fast and does not require proprietary or very good inks. Unfortunately, the MAC version of the driver offers few printing options to choose from. Using inks dedicated to the printer will not significantly improve the print quality, other Epson printers can do much more. The control panel is very simple and each option is selected using a physical button.

    Poor quality printouts

This is a poor quality printer. If you just want to print letters or invoices etc on cheap paper then it is OK – especially as the printing costs are very low. But if you want to print text with colour images of any kind then look elsewhere. The printer does not use black ink when printing images and they come out very wishy-washy. My old HP colour laser did a lot better than this printer even though it wasn’t stated to be an image printer. Also on my Windows 10 PC the Epson Print Layout software would not recognise the printer so could not be used despite being bundled on the software CD. Lastly, when loading different paper the printer stops and demands that you change the settings on the screen to accept the different paper – a right faff and a real time waster. Summary -poor image quality, naff software. Give it a miss.

    Easy

I’ve been using this printer for a while now and I must say, it has been an absolute delight to use. The printer is designed in a way that even someone who is not tech-savvy can easily operate it. The ink cartridges have lasted me longer than I expected, and I have not had to replace them often. The prints are of high quality, and the colours are vibrant and accurate. I’ve used it for my home education and university work, and it has never let me down. I can print in both black and white and colour, which has been quite convenient. Overall, I would highly recommend this printer to anyone looking for an affordable, reliable, and high-quality printing solution.

Just not what you expect from this price point

I bought this as a printer for the home office. Not wanting ‘fancy’ features, just wanted to print with ease from my usual devices (Mac, pc and iPhone). What I found, however, is that this printer doesn’t support AirPrint. AirPrint, for those who are less familiar, is the tech standard used by apple to allow seamless printing from your apple device. When you open a document on your phone, and select the print option, you can select the printer to send it to and it will print. As this printer self-identifies as a WiFi printer, you’d expect this to come as standard. It does not.In fact, Epson’s range seems to be lacking in this one, probably most crucial, feature. 4 years ago, you could get this feature in an Epson printer that cost you a mere £30, so why their mid-premium range doesn’t have it is beyond me. The only logical explanation is that they are setting it exclusively on the more expensive printers to get people to spend more. I can’t imagine it’s a limitation of the chips they are using, so what gives? You *can* print from your phone by the way. But you have to save the document to your phones files, then use the ‘smartpanel’ app to send the file to the printer. It’s just a faff. You can also set up email printing, but again not as easy or straightforward as apples native printing interface.Anyway, only other gripe is that the setup process, although very verbose and directive, can be a bit unresponsive. I had to click to connect my phone several times, despite the fact that the phone was sat right next to the printer. I also had to restart the entire setup process once because the ink initialisation had claimed to start on the phone, but after 10 minutes the printer hadn’t done anything. This particular issue is true of both the 2810 and 2850 models (I purchased the 2850 after sending the 2810 back because, after much research, I discovered this had AirPrint functionality). All in all, it’s ok. You’re getting Epson standard printing, and the eco tank idea is fantastic and I hope it has longevity. The value for money on all models is somewhat on the poorer side, I’d expect more ‘essential’ features out of a £200 printer. However I’m happy that I’ll be using an ink solution that isn’t going to cost me a fortune in the long run.

when does Epson develop user friendly software

when you buz a small printer, you do not want to spend the next hours just to install that piece. But well this is what happens. and you need not just patience but also your mobile to print from a computer. lets hope it will at least print without trouble

    Perfect with a cable

I strongly recommend a printer cable to go with it, they don’t come with the printer. They are great so that you can connect to it without worrying about the wifi or anything. Also, absolutely avoid all of the downloads they want you to make, they are completely unnecessary (and probably spyware) as long as you have the cable. a cable is 5 pounds. This one actually prints double-face and these ink tank printers are the real deal and the best value for money if you are someone like me, a Law student that prints everything he reads. I absolutely loved it so far as a budget option, they don’t lie about its speed and I heard they don’t lie about the ink’s duration either (no need to buy cartridges!).Absolutely recommend it, buy the printer cable and you won’t need more for your house or even small office.

    Good but missing airprint

I bought this before the firmware update. It’s stopped doing AirPrint. Printing is good quality, and the ink tank instead of cartridges is brilliant. Using the app is fine and only a couple of extra clicks to get things printed but everybody using it needs the app on their device. Just a faff you don’t need.

    Missing ingredient AirPrint

As others have said this printer is not straightforward to set up and takes some Googling to resolve. And even downloading other Epson apps to get it connected to WiFi and even then it is flaky.Having owned many Epson printers this seems stupid to make setting up a printer this challenging. In fact this is replacing my old Epson printer.I like my old printer so much that I did not even look at other manufacturers when seeking a replacement. But when you eventually do set it up you realise that the references to mobile in the description on the website does not mean AirPrint. What this means that if you are choosing to print a document from an iPhone or iPad then you can’t just go to the menu and choose print. What you have to do is use the Epson app then find documents to print and then print. This is crazy and inconvenient taking a tried and tested system and messing with it.If there is a mantra that Epson should have it would be “How can I make it easier for my customers to do business with me?”If they want to know the answers then it will be::What are the least steps does it take to successfully set it up?How well does our app work to do this? (Be honest with yourselves)Don’t create a Smart Printer. What we want is a printer that is smart.Get the printer working well first then add the extra magic.Come on Epson you can do better.

    Why only 3 star?

First and foremost this is the second Epsom eco tank printer I have had and I have no problem with the printer. So why only 3 stars? It was a good price on here and also the advertised cashback scheme. Which for this particular printer is £50 which would have made it a really good price. However, Epsom will not accept the normal stuff that accompany Amazon purchases as proof of purchase even though it has the date, price and company etc on. It seems impossible to download an invoice or normal receipt for the printer. Trying to explain to a “chatbot” what you need is virtually impossible and it seems that all the humans at Amazon and Epsom have gone to ground as you can’t get in touch with them. Even the emails from Epson come from a “no reply” mailbox. So to sum it up, if you are buying this printer on here to take advantage of the cashback offer, DON’T! Buy the printer by all means but not from here. Epsom and Amazon need to up their game as far as customer service is concerned.

    Terrible experience with this printer

Unfortunately, I have had nothing but trouble. Bought this to replace a much cheaper printer as I home Ed and use the printer a lot for work so I thought an upgrade would be helpful for quality.Half the time it doesn’t work, it’s extremely slow and every time I print more than one thing I end up having to turn off the printer and turn it back on again. It’s incredibly frustrating.I’m not sure if I have a faulty one but amazon have allowed me to return it, though now I’m left without a printer and have to order another. I got this in the sale and of course the sale is over now, so if it is a faulty one I can’t get the same one again even if I wanted. It took almost 10 minutes to print a single black outline colouring sheet, my considerably cheaper one never had issues doing this so I’m sure it isn’t anything to do with the WiFi etc. It also isn’t compatible with my mac and it didn’t accept sien printing paper as it was too thick, yet again my other printer did accept this paper.I used my sticker paper in the machine and it kept half printing it so didn’t even finish the print, this wasted 6 sheets of my 50 sticker papers. I have a buisness and that’s quite a loss for me as I add in the cost of materials used with each product.Very upset

    Great value printer

The media could not be loaded.

I converted this printer to use for sublimation, majority of printers previously used I have issues with connectivity but this Epson eco tank 2810 . I have to say connected with no issues at all, was easily set up and I was ready to go the day it arrived. Very pleased with my purchase.

    SET UP & FIRST COMMENTS

I set up printer ET-2850 this morning. These are my initial comments, I will update after printing more than the test pages.Reviews -This printer had very good reviews and it took a long time for me to choose this one (ET-2850). Whilst reading the reviews I noticed most of the reviews were for a different Epson printer. The actual printer being reviewed is shown in very small letters so be sure you are reading a review for ET-2850.There were many reviews about the size of the LED screen. The screen is small but I am not having trouble reading it. It would definitely be a challenge for some especially if the environment isn’t well lit. What’s in the box -The item listing indicates the box contains a ‘printer’. Unless I missed it, the listing did NOT say there are 4 small ink bottles within the box. For that reason, I ordered ink which cost an additional £37. After ‘charging’ the ink and printing 3 test pages the ink levels have dropped slightly. The label atop the printer (see photo) indicates 14,000 Black and 5,200 colour which is a lot of printing in my view. Did I need the additional ink? Not sure yet but be aware of that nuance.Set up -This took a while (about an hour) to set up because the instructions don’t advise that you’ll need to use both your smart phone and the LED screen on the printer. Have them both ready. Whilst initialising the ink, it locked up 2 times but that’s because I didn’t know to use the LED screen. Once I figured that out, it was quite easy.I’ll update soon about the print quality, etc, but so far so good.UPDATE July 2022The printer does a good job with documents but I’m having trouble with photos. The first photo printed in 1.5 minutes in best’ quality which is quite slow. I changed the setting to’ normal’ and it prints much faster but every photos has a gray tone which has gotten worse with each one I print.I’m going to brighten the exposure in PS just to get this project done but I’m not happy with the quality of printed casual family photos. Let’s hope this is an easy fixI don’t know if this is an issue with eco printing, this printer (ET2850), or just a setting problem but I’m disappointed just now.FINAL UPDATEI have now tried all the options for printing photos and it’s still disappointing. If you need good quality printed pictures, this is not the printer for you. I take a lot of pride in my images and…. My £40 Argos printer did a better job with photos than this eco printer. It’s great for documents and I’m happy to save all those wasteful cartridges, but if I need pictures I’ll need to order prints online. The end.LAST UPDATE July 2023I do not like this printer. Every other month there’s a communications error which prevents printing anything. Photos are awful. Unless you’re printing black and white, keeping researching. Really want to support refillable cartridges but maybe you need to spend more than a few hundred quid. The end. Back to spending another hour trying to sort this out.

Looks good but returned it immediately

After much research and being a long-term Epson printer user I felt this was the printer for me, so bought one. I was pleased to find it at a lower price but stupidly didn’t realise it was a return from Amazon Warehouse! Before it arrived I asked a question about duplex printing and became rather confused by the contradictory answers. I eventually ascertained that it does *not* have automatic duplex printing but that one has to reinsert the paper for it to print on the back.I was beginning to question whether this was right for me as my wife and I do a fair amount of double sided printing. Then the printer arrived.Ok, so it was a return to Amazon so was not in its original packaging. Aside from that and the fact it was slightly damaged, its ink bottles were missing, and it had no user manual and no software dvd! It might have been cheaper but that was no use to me!I didn’t even complete the unpacking but sent it straight back and when I get my refund I’ll buy the next model up which I’ve ascertained *does* have automatic duplexing! So, a big lesson. Be careful what you are buying from Amazon Warehouse!!

    Frustrating

I have an Epson 3800 A2 printer but with 9 cartridges at around 50 pounds each was looking for something more economical to print A4 menus. I used the app on an iPhone to set up the wireless printing. All went well and everything connected . . . then to print . . . the printer came to life but just printed random text. So after much googling figured out how to turn the wireless printing off. Then to print connected by USB. On my intel iMac (14.1.1) it will print once after a fresh install of the drivers, after a re-start of the iMac sending a document to print, nothing happens sometimes the printer fires up and sounds like it’s printing, but nothing comes out. Re-installing the drivers fixes this problem but just once, so each time I want to print I have to re-install the drivers. So I’ve give up on that. On my M1 MacBook Pro the printer works via USB with no issues, the print quality is decent for text on the fine setting with plain paper. The printer though does not like any slight bend in the paper at the edges and will ruin many prints catching the edges at the end of the print. Overall so far the printer has been incredibly frustrating, if the drivers eventually get updated and the printer works I would maybe slightly recommend it.

    Epsom Eco Tank ET 2810

The reason I bought this Model is because I’ve read some very positive reviews. Also I needed a new printer because my old HP Photosmart C 4280 which I had for eighteen years stopped working after I had my PC repaired. The old hard drive crashed and a new had to be installed telling me the driver was no longer available for my old printer. The one thing I really like about this printer is the ink tank system which is much cleaner than cartridges and more economical as cartridge are so costly. Printing word documents is very clear, accurate and to scale. Where this printer really excels is printing Avery labels of 65 or 21 per A4 sheet. They exactly to scale and spot on with the correct word settings in the print area of each one on the sheet. The reason for this is because the sheet of labels does not go round a roller which sometimes gets them out of alignment and sometimes causes paper jams. This a big bonus because paper jams are a nightmare. With regard scanning and to printing photographs and colour documents the colours and resolution are not 100 % accurate. Maybe I have not quite got the printer settings right. Apart from that, I am truly happy with this printer. Photographs on my PC directly from my digital camera that are not scans print perfectly which I am pleased to say.

Great but look for a password before putting ink in

The printer gives detailed start up instructions and then tells you: you need the product password to finalise the setup- the password being inside or underneath the printer- – the later – too late if you’ve put the ink in, and did I struggle, fortunately in Amazon reviews, a very kind person put detailed information on how to find the password and complete setup another way, what a faff, it took a while but it was worth it, the printer works from all our devices from all over the house, much better than our old Epson did, not needed to refill the ink yet, very pleased, I would have given a 5 if it wasn’t for the password issue- we never did find where they hid ours. And a huge thank you to that person to took the time to write down how to sort the password:-)

    It’s easy to set up

Used to use a HP Officejet printer because I always wanted duplex scanning however the HP instant ink program was just not working for me especially since I have kids as well who like to print off activities. After looking at several printers I decided to give Epsom ink tanks a go as I figured it should save me money. This doesn’t have duplex scanning but it does have duplex printing. I figured I will just use my mobile and an app to do duplex scanning. It is great that’s it’s quite compact and it does the job I need it for. I find that the colour is not as tight as other printers but again it’s just for churning out kids print jobs and lots of black and white printing.Wish the paper tray was a cassette type rather than the top feeder.Already printed over 100 sheets so savings have started 🙂

Great, easy to install and use printer.

Bought to replace a 4 year old HP printer that just caused endless problems. Arrived promptly and took 15 minutes to set up, including installing the ink and latest firmware, setting up WiFi connection and connecting to two (windows 11/10) computers, three mobiles and two tablets by just following the step by step instructions from the Epson app. Print quality good enough for us, print speed fine. This is a great printer for domestic use, cheap to run, decent print quality and so easy to set up and use on pc, mobile and tablet. Very happy.

Cheaply made but hopefully economical in the long run

The most noticeable thing when packing the machine was how thin and flimsy the plastic that it is manufactured from, hopefully this won’t matter too much as the only bits needed to open regularly should be the scanner lid and the tank refill. Installation was fairly painless, the ink refilling system is easy – open the bottle, flip back the tank lid and the bottle slots in and takes about 45 seconds to fill the tank using about 3/4 of the supplied ink for each, lift the bottle and the flow stops automatically. The initial set up used about a ¼ of the black ink and slightly less of the colours, hopefully this is purely to charge the printheads. I would recommend using the smartphone app as it uses bluetooth to initially connect, guiding you through the ink charging process, which took about 20 minutes, make sure the smartphone is sitting on the scanner to get a good connection. I was going to use USB for the initial setup but using WPS buttons worked first time. Note that you need to make sure the ink charging completes before trying to set up the wireless connection. There are buttons on the machine to do basic B&W and colour copying, everything else is done using the app or software supplied on a CD (May be an issue if you don’t have a CD drive but the software can be downloaded). Older versions of EpsonScan do not work with this machine, and the newer scan software is not quite as flexible but they do the job. To connect to a Mac you need to download and install the drivers from the Epson website, again the process was fairly painless. Initial test prints & copies seemed ok, I didn’t intend it as a photo printer but as a general document printer/copier first impressions seem fine. Hopefully the savings in ink costs will be the redeeming factor in the machine.

    Happy so far

Only a couple of weeks in but so far, so good. Setup was straightforward – didn’t come across the problems that others seem to have had. Love the ink loading process. I’ve been running (previous printer) on purpose built refillable ink cartridges and, on the occasional big print run, ended up refilling the black three of four times [bottle of ink/syringe/plug/tissue!!] so the bottles are a doddle.Down sides? limited paper capacity and paper stands in a rear slot rather that (former machine) lying in a front loading paper tray. A bit noisy in operation – lots of bangs and cracks. Mus try the promised quiet mode. Print quality looks fine and double-sided – one of the deciding factors in this purchase is good although it stops to think a bit between front and back of print. Display screen is tiy – hands and knees job to see what it is demanding.

    AWFUL PRINTER AND TERRIBLE SERVICE

This printer is absolutely shocking and Epson quite clearly do not care. We bought this model 1 year ago and have had nothing but problems. We’ve now had 3 or 4 of the same model within 1 year, each breaking because of a different fault. Granted, each time Epson send a ‘new’ printer when you are in your warranty. But now out of warranty from the original purchase date they are going to make us pay for a repair… Even though we have had multiple printers break and different ones sent out. If it’s not the double sided printer function breaking it’s the wifi connection or even pulling paper in to print. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, and i’d recommend avoiding Epson all together. On support today i was told they had to end the call because they’d been on the phone for too long (less than 30 minutes)… Even though i was left with the problem. And on my second call (on hold for 20 minutes before they answered again) i was hung up on for telling the man i thought it was shocking that they will send us product after product that breaks then expect us to pay – surely there should be an extension on the warranty in a case like this… My guess is it happens all the time and they make money out of their customers who cannot afford to go and buy another expensive printer!

Effortless Excellence: A User-Friendly Journey with the Epson EcoTank ET-2810

Setting up the Epson EcoTank ET-2810 was a breeze, thanks to the user-friendly app that guided me through the process with step-by-step instructions. The app’s intuitive interface ensured that even someone like me, who might not be tech-savvy, could effortlessly connect the printer to my network and get it ready for action.Installing the ink was equally hassle-free, and the app provided clear instructions on how to do it without any mess. The convenience of having a well-designed companion app truly enhanced the overall setup experience.Using the printer became even more seamless with the app at my fingertips. The step-by-step guidance and easy navigation made tasks like selecting print options or monitoring ink levels straightforward. It’s the kind of user-friendly technology that simplifies the entire printing process.Print quality remained consistently excellent across various paper types, and I appreciated the convenience of adjusting settings directly from the app. The app’s integration with the printer truly elevated the user experience. With all these factors considered, including the invaluable assistance from the app, the Epson EcoTank ET-2810 has proven to be an outstanding investment. It’s a reliable, easy-to-use printer that not only delivers on quality but also makes the entire printing journey a stress-free delight. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a printer that combines user-friendly technology with exceptional performance.

Very good print quality, reasonably fast text printing, VERY ECONOMICAL TO RUN!

This Epson EcoTank printer (ET-2810) was a distressed purchase after Canon sent my old printer a “firmware Update” which killed it. Why I installed a firmware update for a printer, I will never know. Anyway, in protest, I defected to Epson. There were several reasons I chose this printer:1) Eco Tank seems to be the way forward, huge ink capacity and no cartridges, therefore cheaper to run and better for the environment with far less waste.2) Epson were running a £25 cashback offer at the time, which equated to a further 15% off the purchase price.3) Recent reviews were favourable, most of them giving upvotes for print quality and value for money.4) it comes with 4 full bottles of CMYK ink, 65ml in each – which Epson claim is equivalent to 72 ink cartridges… Strewth!I’ve had this printer for a couple of weeks now, and I do like it a lot. However, the menu system is entirely app-based, not via any screen on the printer (it does not have a menu screen!) and installation of the menus on my PC was a little laborious. The corresponding app on my Samsung Galaxy was equally slow in installing, but once completed, both appear to be working OK.By the way, if you own an iPhone or Mac, don’t expect the native IOS AirPrint to work. It won’t. You HAVE to install Epson Smart Panel for iPhone and also the same for the Mac. AirPrint does NOT work.In operation, the printer is faster than the previous printer, and the text it produces is very crisp, almost laser-like in print quality. I have used the scanner a couple of times, the menu system on the app for the PC takes some getting used to, and some of the settings are a chore to find and adjust, but the results are OK. Not the best scanner in the world, but good enough for documents. The footprint of the ET-2810 is a little smaller than the Canon MG7550 but you need a little space at the rear to allow the paper loading tray to sit at the correct angle (I have my printer hidden in a cupboard which keeps the dust off) and I just flick the cupboard door open when I use the printer. From what I can tell, the amount of ink this printer uses will make it very economical to run, and the 65ml bottles of original Epson ink bottles are available for under £10 each at the time I write this.In all, a good printer and good value for money.***6 Month Update***After 6 months of very regular use, this little printer has not yet required a top-up of ink, in fact it is still 80% full approximately. There have been no paper jams, no need to unclog inkjet nozzles, and no mis-prints. I estimate I may need to add ink in about a year’s time. Absolutely brilliant.***********************************12 MONTH UPDATE***Still going strong, I have recently printed some colour images using some very high quality photo paper, and the results are very pleasing. Colours are vibrant, and the images look sharp and well-defined. It does, however, take ages to print a full A4 – sized image, but I’m in no hurry.I did a nozzle check very recently to make sure all was well, and I was relieved to see no cleaning was required. To help the printer, I have avoided the use of cheaper copier paper, as it tends to give slightly smeary text, and the paper can dust up a bit which is not good. Xerox or HP paper seems to work very well indeed.STILL HAPPY!—————————–

    Ideal Printers For Artists/Photographers

Came in it’s secure box, had to give the delivery person a password which was emailed to me in advance of delivery, which is a nice secure feature, first time having to do that.It was easy to set up. Everything was in the box. The screen is small but it’s surprisingly easy to use anyway, that was my initial concern. You can set up via your smartphone by scanning the QR code. However, halfway through my setup, while waiting for it to do its thing, my phone went into screensaver mode and I think that halted the entire process, it didn’t progress and I couldn’t move on via the phone app. BUT, just finish it via the screen, it’s so easy. I mentioned that in case anyone else had the same thing and didn’t know what to do. The phone app is just another method of setup, it’s just as easy to use the actual printer screen.Filling the ink was easy, no mess. Each ink bottle has its only nogging shape that slots into its respective tank, and you can sit it there without holding it.Once it was set up it has to print a test page which was perfectly fine. And then it’s good to go. People have mentioned the cheap feel of the loading tray at the back, but tbh this isn’t any different from past printers. It’s the same plastic as my old Brother printer which I’m replacing. It does it’s job and that’s good enough for me.I bought this as an artist wanting to print my own art and Etsy products and stickers etc. I did a lot of research before deciding on this model, and I’m not disappointed. However it has had some issues I had to get help for from Epson, but they have been very helpful.Such as, the scanner itself. This scanner relies on your network, but it mine seems really iffy with being visible on my home network. My computer can find my old Brother printer with an entire floor between them. This one is sat right next to my computer and more often than not so far it can’t pick up the machine when I want to use the scanner (via the scan program). It finds it if I want to print, (I print mainly from Photoshop), but for some reason it’s not there when I want to activate the scanner. I’ve even used my Cricut cable to plug it into the computer but still not very good. Of the 5 times I’ve tried to scan from the Epson scan program, only 2 did it find the scanner. Now, my ISP is having issues, our network has been weak many days in the past fortnight, but it can still PRINT from my computer/network.I have since contacted Epson to find out why, I will update this when I have a solution. It might just be user error (however even scanning from the printer screen itself doesn’t work). And I have only tried this several times. I wanted to mention this in any case. The print quality, though, is well worth it. I went through a lot of Youtube videos to find out the best colour profile in Photoshop for my work, and the results are stunning. I compared my prints next to ones I had ordered from print companies, and my colour and quality looked even better. It prints beautifully on matt, satin and glossy paper (my tests so far), though if you do print on glossy do some research on Youtube because you can get different qualities depending on the settings you use in your programs (i.e. set Photoshop paper settings for matt paper but putting glossy paper through gives a different quality than assigning glossy settings). Also I have experienced the odd roller imprint of some prints. Not all of them, weirdly, just some. And the odd spot of ink where it shouldn’t be, always on the edges. I did read about this in other reviews though so it’s not a surprise. Seems to be just on the thicker papers.Despite the scanner issues I personally have experienced, I’m very glad I bought this printer. For the price it’s exceptionally good and if you use it for your small business like mine I’m sure it will pay for itself.

    Excellent printer

Had this for 4 weeks now and have been pleased with it. The initial setup was fairly slow but also pretty simple using the phone app. I have used it from a PC and also phone and iPad and it works well from all of them. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of photos as it is only a black and 3 colour printer but it is on a par with a photo printer I had recently (although several years old) until it died. I was originally planning to get a normal ink cartridge printer as I have had before and use compatible inks to keep the cost down but after reading horror stories of printers refusing to accept compatibles I went for an ink tank one instead as the cost of both original and compatible ink is good. It came with 1 black and 3 colours for the initial filling and also one spare black. No sign of any appreciable drop in ink levels yet. Only used the scanner a couple of times but it appears pretty good although it is slower than ones I have had before especially if you set the resolution quite high. The only minor quibbles I have are the slow scanning and the fact that some of the print options I and used to are not on the PC drivers.

it took me quite a bit of time to install on XPbut you can do it faster by using the Wizard way and not the Disc installed way.On the android app and not on home NetworkYou may need to find it on WIFI and do not put in the Password (in the Printer. If you have put the password, deleted the password only)need internet to install as it needs to find some things.I did not print a test page but I printed Some vouchers. I did print 1 Colour Draft, 1 Normal Colour as it did not save my setting and 2 Black and white Draft and it is now saved at this Setting.I turned Fast to slower Quite Setting.I printed out Gift vouchers.I am not sure if the Barcode (grey) works on the Print out but on my other Laser Printer it works.Scanning documents there is no function on the Computer app, The Android App has. The Printer has a buttonI have not use this option. There is a option to use Colours to make black by clicking on the box setup before printing. If feel thin when I was taking it out the box in one place.Overall I like it at this moment

    Plug and Play

We bought this printer to replace an HP Inktank that developed a fault after 5 years trouble free service.Inktank all in one devices are brilliant. The Epsom was delivered quickly, simple packaging but complicated instructions on the recommended app slowed me down with the install so I deleted the app and just continued without it. My laptop did the rest. Super simple. The printer is noisy and the whole contraption flimsy but it does simple jobs well. Size wise it fits well on a desk and is smaller than the old HP. All good so far.

    Love it

I love this printer. I always hated, hated those ink cartridges, because I don’t print often and they dry up and in the end I may get 10-20 pages from very expensive ink cartridges. This printer allows you to fill up the ink in a tank on the printer. Very easy, very economical, and I believe I’m a year on and no clogs and dried up ink cartridges to deal with. To think that companies like HP want to go to a subscription based model where you can only use their ink cartridges. With this printer I ordered extra ink. I think I have it for a year now and I’m not even halfway through what I have. I’m very pleased with the printer. It stands the test of time.

    Difficult to set up

Now that I’ve got it working, hopefully all will be ok. It prints fine and we’ve tested the copier function, everything seems good.Took ages to work out how to set up though. The epson app guided me through all the main setup of how to install the ink etc, all very easy…. but when it came to connecting the printer to the wifi…. the app just kept saying the wifi password was not recognised. Very bad experience. For anyone that has this problem, this is what you need to do….Press and hold the button that looks like a little “i”, it’s the 2nd button across. The printer should then print a few pages with all the network information. From here, you need to look for the wifi direct ip address ssid and password.Next, press and hold the first 2 buttons, one looks like the wifi button and then the same “i” button you just pressed… hold them until the wifi leds start alternating…. this is to turn on wifi direct, I think so anyway…. if this doesn’t work, download the OTHER epson app, I think it’s called iprint? This will also guide you how to connect using wifi direct. On your phone, goto your wifi settings and connect to the printers wifi direct ssid, using the password from the printout. It’ll probably say connected but “internet may not be available”, it’s fine, don’t worry about that. Now you should be able to go to the web browser on your phone and goto the ip address from the printout. Failing this, within one of the epson apps there’s an “advance settings” option which will take you there.Once on that page, you need to sign in as admin (again using same password from the printout), then goto the network settings tab…. from here you can select your normal wifi ssid and type in the wifi password…. this time it should be accepted and the wifi connection will be saved to the printer…. then you can exit all of this, and forget the wifi direct connection on your phone so that your phone has internet again. Now go back to the epson smart panel app, and choose to add a printer that’s already connected to wifi… it should now find the printer and it will now work in the app.You may also need to download the epson print enabler, and add the printer to your available printers the first time you print something.Doing all this, I can now print from my phone, control copies and scans using the app, and update the printers firmware.I don’t really know WHY the wifi password was not being accepted directly from the epson smart panel app…. it’s difficult to know what it was doing as it doesn’t have any option to select the ssid, it just picks a wifi network and asks for a password….so I can only guess that it was trying to connect to a neighbor’s wifi or something?Other than this mess of a setup system…I was also knocked back a bit by the ink initialization…. it took a while, and at the end of it the ink levels had all dropped by about a quarter…..I have no idea where that ink went, or if this is normal behaviour…. but it was a bit alarming seeing a quarter of your ink vanish before you’ve printed a single page.Hopefully, now it’s all set up, the rest of the ink will last. The quality of the prints were fine, no issues there. It’s a tad annoying having to empty the paper from the back when you’re done, but not the end of the world.Installing the ink was actually really easy, and you can’t get them in the wrong slots because the bottles have specifically shaped nozzles for each tank. The bottles also seem like they’re going to be much cheaper than all the carts we used to buy for the old hp printer….. which stopped printing all together, even with brand new carts.Overall, seems like a decent quality printer and copier, should be easy to use now that it’s set up…. it’s just a shame that the app has such poor design in terms of network setup….I was very close to giving up and sending it back…. luckily I persisted with the OTHER epson iprint app and found the web setup page (it’s similar to a router setup page if you’ve ever used one)…..I can see most users NOT going through all that just to get it connected….. but for those of you that really want to give this ink tank style printer a try, hopefully my steps above will help get you connected! Should save money and frustration in the long run….. now that it’s finally set up.

Good Value Printer for all the family

The Epson ET-2810 it a good all round printer using the epson ‘eco tank’ inks system. Which means it can hold a lot of ink in the machine and is massively cheaper to print each page compaired to the older printers that used cartridges. This Epson ET-2810 prints in colour or black and white. Print quality is good for text, simple graphics/posters and letters. However printing photos comes out a little worse (not bad but could be better) than my older printer . It also has a built in scanner and even though the machine is primarily desgined to be used wirelessly, it does still have a port to connect a cable if needed. The constuction of the machine feels quite flimsy, but this isn’t much of problem unless you need to move it around quite often. There are epson downloadable programs/apps for the printer on the website, although we found the printer acctually worked straight out of the box if printing from a laptop or computer without having to download any software at all.

    Flawed

I really liked this printer – from the day I got it until the day it had to be returned. There is a touch of quality about it. However the flaw is paper jamming. The final time the paper jammed I could not extract it in its entirety, consequently all printing after this had part of the print missing. So it had to go back to Amazon. Such a pity I really did like this printer. (In my time over the years I have had Epson, HP and Brother. I am now trying a Cannon)

    Mail printing with registration

Hello.I requested help and thought there was maybe something wrong with printer or perhaps I was doing something wrong?Anyway I managed to get print job done by checking Epson connect usage in various ways. I then managed to use Mail print which was my objective yesterday. I’m hopeful that the printer doesn’t actually have a fault. So I’ll keep learning here and don’t intend sending the printer for repair at this stage as I think it was more my lack of knowledge in using printer. Thanks for the advice and if necessary I may use in future. For now I think it’s ok without repair.

Great little printer but disappointed that it only has a rear paper feed.

This is a fantastic little printer that produces some very bright images. Filling the ink is easy and the tank tops are individually ‘keyed’ to help prevent the wrong colour refill being used. The only negative is the rear paper feed which is not shown any of the sales pictures. I expected it to have a paper drawer in the base like my previous Epson ink jet printer but instead, the paper flops over a top, rear feed leaving it exposed to gather dust when not in constant use.

    ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE TO INSTALL!!!!!!

It took me 4 hours of tears and tantrums to install this printer!! Im still angry at it writing this review. I am a home educator I am a heavy printer and have had numerous printers I’ve set up many of them and had to troubleshoot many issues over the years (15 HE) but this one I have to say has been the worst of the lot for set up it was an absolute nightmare. A few pointers The password is located under the flap at the front of the printer where the EPSON logo is, you pull the flap down and it’s there, they don’t tell you that!! Also it is a bi**h to connect to the internet just keep going back and trying again eventually it connects took me 20 times and I did nothing different for it to work it just eventually found my router. Installing issues aside the print jobs look fine I’ve not yet tried all the functions ill look at those over the next coming days and edit this review. Im still on the fence with this one I am hoping its going to be worth the hassle 🙂

    Epson ET-2810 Ecotank Printer

I love this printer and the fact you can see the ink levels on front of the printer is brilliant. I have printed a picture on photographic paper. Very good but takes ages for that type of printing. Normal every day printing is extremely quick. It is so much better than my old printer which needed cartridges that only lasted a short while and had become extremely expensive.
