I got a letter in the mail from this company saying they’ll give me a $15 Amazon card if I rate 5 stars, so I’m not going to do that LOL!I thought this kit was pretty decent. 4 out of the 5 seeds germinated as seem above. It’s definitely not a huge output as some kits, but it’s good enough if you only want one or two of each.A couple tips: the wisteria and flame tree bonsai do very well in tropical climates, so make sure you keep humidity for these plants with a cut up water bottle or a plastic bag. I live in the northeast so the sophora japonica, JBP, and Jaracanda tree grows best here. Make sure you don’t overwater them – wisteria will need a water dish because it molds very easily (at least that’s what happened to my plant). Overall pretty solid, just wish it came with better instructions and pots. Also, be prepared with bonsai liquid food every 2 weeks and pot changes.Overall, it’s … Ok, especially for the price.

Nice starter kit.
This is a beginner bonsai set, comes with 5 different seed packs , containers for germination, soil pucks (hydrates and expands to fill containers), oversized soil labels, and a pair of pruning shears.Seed varieties included are Japanese Black Pine, Flame Tree, Sophora Japonica, Wisteria Tree, & Jacaranda.You’ll need to rehydrate the starter soil pucks and fill the soft containers, the seeds will be soaked for just under a day and then planted for germination. The Japanese pine and the Sophora germinated the quickest for me (around 3 weeks), and the longest was the flame tree which took nearly 6 weeks.I had poor germination rates for the Jacaranda and contacted the seller and they were great with sending me replacement seeds without charge.Once the trees have reached around three inches in height you’ll need to separate them from the starter soil and transfer them to a pot with bonsai soil mix to facilitate their advancement to a bonsai (there are plenty of starter soil mixes on Amazon).

Fun little grow kit!
This is a really neat bonsai growing kit and I’ve had so much fun watching them grow! The reason for not giving 5 stars is because two of the five bonsai seeds never germinated, so I’m a little bummed. Still a great product and worth it for the price!

Great Bonsai kit!!
I decided to try to grow bonsai trees from seeds but I normally have a “brown thumb”. I followed the directions except I soaked the seeds for 2 days because I didn’t have time to plant the first day. Then I planted all the seeds on August 8th. I used these little individual planters since I so many seeds. Now it’s the August 26th and 6 of the Sophora Japonica seeds have grown so big that I need to replant them and 3 of the Jacaranda seeds have started to grow as well. I’m not losing hope on the other seeds. They may take more time to grow. This is an awesome kit and I’ve had a great time watching them grow daily.

The media could not be loaded.
Easy to do. It comes with all the steps although only 3/5 started growing I’m pretty sure the other two just need more time. This my first time ever with plants so seeing the first one sprout quick was exciting for me. Should most definitely buy this. I also brought food for the Bonsia trees so that may help with the growing process if it’s taking longer cause beside two mine all started within a month

I was blown away until…
Everything came packed nice, and was exactly as pictured in the ad. This was not my first time growing bonsai’s, and I had gotten this as a gift for a family member. While helping them with the process and going through germination out of the 20+ seeds that were there only two had germinated and did not survive. Again, this isn’t my first rodeo, and I followed all the essential steps, but come to find out that one of these beautiful bonsai‘s had grown.

Disappointed
I purchased this as a family project. It was fun to do together! However, only two flame tree seeds grew and some of the sophora japonica. None of the other seeds grew and we followed the directions. The wisteria seeds molded. The sophora japonica and flame tree are growing nicely so far thankfully!

Very few seeds actually sprouted
I used a seedling tray with grow lights and such, followed all directions. Out of the 30ish separate pods, only about 6 grew, 4 of Sophora and 2 of the Jacaranda. The Wisteria and Flame trees both only came with 4 seeds total. It is a let down and I would avoid purchasing this.

One of five seed types sprouted.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Lord knows how long this kit had been sitting in Amazon’s warehouse. Two of the varieties should have produced purple foliage but neither of those sprouted. One, called a Flame Tree, should’ve produced red foliage but it didn’t sprout either. Of the two green varieties, the lesser attractive one is of course the one that sprouted.

Well was excited at first I’m already a bonsai grower. So I bought this to check it out and there wasn’t enough soil in my opinion. But only one sprouted. And of course. It was a green one. I really wanted a better color one. And it didn’t come with the right amount of seeds Also. So hopefully yours gos better then mine.

Not worth it
I couldn’t do an honest review until I tried to grow all the bonsai trees. NADA. I followed the instructions and nothing grew. Seemed so simple and cute, I was really looking forward to seeing the trees grow and giving them to my family. It was not only a waste of my money but also my time.

Cool little kit but…
After doing extra research on each of the tree seeds provided in the kit, I prepared the seeds accordingly… however I was still only able to get three of the five seed types to sprout. Saphora Japonica, Flame, and Jacaranda are sprouting and growing well… The other two have done nothing.I will try again with the other two doing another soak in water as well as cold stratification, but I am pleased so far with the other three. I have multiples of each to work with and look forward to seeing them grow.

One month in review
Out of all the seeds I was sent, only one plant is blooming. I followed the instructions as written. I finally decided to dig up the other 4 species of bonsai that were not growing and the seeds were mushy, and had larva come out of the seeds when ripped open as well as they stunk. I am pretty bummed as I would have loved all the different colors. I’m hoping the one that did bloom thrives. The blooming one is pretty small now but again I’m hoping it’s a success as I am aware this is going to be a long process. I have also done a lot of research into the growth and care of bonsai to prepare myself for the task.

Overall the kit is nice, I had 4 tree seedlings sprout and have been growing since, not satisfied with the germination rate as that was the most difficult part.I am happy that the flame tree is continuing to grow, just not overall satisfied.

Only one of the 7or 8 seeds I planted grew. He soon passed on to that great greenhouse in the sky, though. I’m pretty sure it was user error (I’ve been killing air plants lately). 🤷🏽♀️

Very happy with my purchase.
I received 5 types of seeds. 3/5 grew with varying success. 2 never did. But that’s ok. I wasn’t expecting so many and now I have a lot of saplings. 3 Flame maples, 6 wisteria, and 2 sophora japonica (I may have switched wisteria and japonica…opps). The largest white pot is a flamed maple.It will take years for some of these to flower. You will still enjoy the saplings growing up. Expect to buy better and bigger pots quickly. I would even consider not using them but it is not difficult to repot.

I absolutely love these trees within one week. I already had a little sprouts coming out of the soil so far all of the trees have grown a little bit except for the pine one, but I am in love with these cute little trees. Great product here. I definitely recommend it if you wanna start with bonsai.

This is the cutest bonsai kit I’ve ever purchased. It’s also the most complete. Alone with a small grow bag for each variety (all with drainage holes), there’s a plant marker for each, small trimming shears, soil disks and easy to understand instructions. 10/10 would recommend for bonsai beginners or as a gift.

Great Guide
Although Bonsai Trees are notoriously tough to grow, this kit gives you everything you need to set you up for success. The pots, shears, soil, and many many seeds are all packaged nicely and the included guide gives you great insight into how to grow and handle these plants with care. Greta for kids science lesson
I bought this kit for my 10 year old twin girls, I thought they would like to research a tree and learn how to grow and take care of it instead of flowers like they do in science class every school year. They love it so far..5 different trees they all seem to sprout at different time lines. The Flame tree sprouted first 3 weeks after planting, the other 4 trees have yet to sprout.

Wonderful bonsai kit with beautifully colored trees
I’m so excited to have received this item. First of all, it was promptly delivered within a day. The kit contains 5 different seed packets to grow 5 different types of trees, of many different colors. It has clear and concise directions that a very amateur gardener like myself can understand. Some of the seeds require a longer germination period
Im pretty proud of myself. I randomly just decided to start growing stuff and this is the first one I started. The only one that sprouted in a week was the black maple one I think that’s what it’s called? But after like 3 weeks the wisteria seed finally broke open. And be sure u keep away from flies they will lay eggs in your soil and you’ll have maggots in your soil.

I bought this as a summer project to work on.I wanted to see how kid friendly it was going to be so that I can do it with my kiddos when school starts. So far so good. This is what days 2 and 5 look like. Out of 5 only my Sophora Japonica has sprouted. I started to see some green on my Wisteria Tree on day 5 also. Seeing some progress every day is really exciting! I am totally new to this but just following each step on my guide has helped me a lot.

THEY ACTUALLY GROW!!
We didn’t know what to expect when buying this kit for $15. One set of seeds had no sprouts, and one had a very small seedling that never made it very far. But the others are thriving!!! So much fun to watch them grow!
