    Good lawn mower

The lawn mower is easy to use, light, and does a great job mowing the lawn! If you don’t mind an electric mower that you have to attach to an extension cord, it’s worth it! We don’t have to worry about getting gas every time to fill it up. And if there aren’t any outdoor outlets at your home, you can always put the extension cord through a window! We have quite a bit of yard in both the front and back. And the mower has done great! Great buy!

    Good all around

This mower is light weight, easy to maneuver, and gives good results. I don’t use the catcher with it. That creates no problem. It is not clear what amperage extension cord I should use with it. The range they rate it for is limited. When putting it together, the part that holds the top and bottom of the handle: it goes to the inside.

    Awesome Mower

The unit was easy to assemble. You basically just attach the handle with four fasteners, plug the unit in to power, and start mowing.I got mine after months of physical incapacitation that prevented me from properly maintaining my 3/4 acre lot’s lawn spaces. My grass was disgustingly out of control. In the back yard, it was well over waist-high.This mower cut through that over-grown grass with no problem. At all.The benefit of an electric motor is that it makes all the torque it can from zero rpm up. That is very useful when the job gets “tough” and I don’t think a mower like this would ever be asked to tackle anything “tougher” than the chronically overgrown lawn of my back garden. A typical gasoline-engine push mower would have suffered engine stalling when faced with what this Black and Decker unit was faced with. It’s quiet. The handle is very comfortable. It leaves a nice, even cut.Honestly, I can’t think of much negative to say about the unit. There is a lot of plastic involved in its construction -the entire mowing deck is plastic rather than metal like the common stamped steel decks found on gasoline engine push mowers. It seems sturdy in spite of this and, of course, plastic can’t rust.It is a corded unit, and I had some concern about the cord providing the power being a tether that would just get in the way. A little minor planning of movement in tackling my yard space really made the power cord a non-issue in my use.Time will tell how durable the unit is but it did convince me of one thing: I’m not going back to gasoline engines for push mowers. Electric power is far superior.

    Needlessly shoddy product!

Stay away from this one! This works pretty well for one season. When I begin to use it again this season it overheated, melted and the motor burned out. Upon closer examination it’s simply appears that the parts we’re such cheap plastic that there was no way this thing was going to last. Ultimately the belt drive failed, created Heat and the ruined the mower.

Great cut, light and easy on my arthritis!

This lightweight gem was exacIy what I was looking for! I rarely write reviews, but had to share how pleased I am with this mower. I’m 50 with arthritis and two yards to mow, so pushing and transporting a mower was very hard on me and I gave up and hired a service a few years ago. When I lost my job I couldn’t afford a service anymore. I did a lot of research looking for something I could handle myself. This mower is perfect. I can squeeze one handle or the other and push using different parts of my palms to ease off the pressure on my hands. It’s so light weight I told my son it feels like il a kid pushing a toy mower, but it cuts great! It has only 2 screws needing a Phillips which was good for my hands too and came together in about 20 minutes. Read the instructions on how to mow to avoid cord damage – it was a breeze. It will take me a while to get used to the pivot feature, but I already like it because the weed eater is more jaring on my hands and now I won’t need to use it as much. I can very easily pick this up and put it in the back of my Prius too! The bag fills up very full before you notice cuttings on the grass, that’s how I knew it was time to empty it. That was a little challenging to do because the bag was packed pretty tight with cuttings, but I figured out that if I use one hand to hold the bag, resting the back end on one knee, I could pull out about half with my other hand and shake down the rest. Overall I am extremely pleased and hope this helps other arthritis sufferers make an informed decision!

    Workhorse BUT Broken

I loved this mower until it broke. This is lightweight and powerful and can handle any lawn. Easy set up out of the box. I am sad to say when I ran over a fallen branch it broke the mower. The plastic housing holding the blade to the deck broke and is no longer useable. My fault-but I will not be buying anymore mowers with plastic decks. Too bad as this was a great mower. It was quiet and easy to maneuver. If you are just cutting grass this is the mower to get. Make sure you don’t run over any rocks or wood larger than twigs. The high lift blades work really well. This would be a fantastic mower if it had a steel deck.

    Very ” Plastic” and SMALL

I bought this Black and Decker to Replace a B&D model MM850 that I used for over 15 years. This new model cuts “OK” but seems to me it won’t last. The Body and wheels seem very “Cheap”. I don’t like the way the Gas Catcher Bag attaches. I fo really like the Bicycle Handles.

Lawn mowers have gotten so expensive so I didn’t know what to expect from this. And so far it works amazing. We had the same brand/kind and it was 10+ years old. so if it’s anything like that we will get our moneys worth. Def recommend!

    Poor workmanship

The manufacturer does not seem to have thought about quality issuesThis machine is fine for mowing, but the gear is made like a toy.The gear is unstable and will move during use.If you are not careful, your lawn will make a deep mark. Because the gear will move to the lowest position by itself, the depth of mowing is the deepest.

    Nothing but problems

Had problems from the very start. First the height adjuster kept slipping to the lowest setting which kept bottoming out and kicking up turf. Also on my second use the left rear wheel broke off and can’t be fixed. Now I have to try cutting my grass with 3 wheels. The reason I bought this mower was because I had purchased the smaller model a few years ago and loved it and of course because it was a black and decker. I probably will never buy another product from them

DULL BLADES & SHUTS OFF TOO EASILY

I have mowed only 6 times with this brand new mower and my grass has split ends at the top which looks yellowish/brown instead of beautiful green grass. The blades are so dull that they chew up the grass so now I have to get them sharpened before mowing again. The power bar handle is difficult to use. When backing up and if you move your hand slightly, the power shuts off because of the angle of the handle. The push buttons to adjust the pivot are hard to push down while moving. You must stop to move the pivot buttons. The one nice thing is that it is small and lightweight, however the grass catcher has a smaller opening than the rest of the bag. Doesn’t make it easy to dump the grass. Think I will go buy a different mower.

    perfect for a small yard.

ordered this to keep up on my small yard. Its the perfect size, and I love not having to worry about charging, or gas. The blades did get caught up a couple times, but the grass I was cutting was very thick, so I’m not really upset about it. Easy to clean out, and dump the clippings. Super quick and easy to put together.

    Reasonable for the price

OK but I liked the greenworks model better.I purchased the greenworks electric mower and loved it. But it has a design flSo I tried this model and it works, I find it uncomfortable to use as I think it would be better aw where there is a thin piece of metal surrounding the rip cord which broke after a year of use. It should have been made thicker.for a taller person. Also, it is not as flexible and responsive as the greenworks, it is much stiffer and is top heavy. It does the job for the price though.I would rather get the greenworks model again and put gorilla tape around the small piece of metal around the ripcord to reinforce it from breaking, then it would be perfect.

Remember it has a 17 ” REVIEWED MOWER TOO SOON

Overall it is easier to operate and quieter than a gas mower but if you have a yard bigger than app 800 sf the 17 inch cutting blade will get boring real quick. Right after I reviewed this mower the height adjustment lever stopped working and stayed at the lowest level. That makes it very hard to use. I do NOT recommend this mower.

Very quiet love almost everything about it !

So the two things I don’t like about it is,1) that it’s corded, but it does say it is so …that’s not on them! 2)that you cannot lock the buttons to keep it going, but that’s probably for safety issues. So my fingers get tired every Few minutes. All in all though it’s pretty amazing !

light weight and easy to start use

This lawn mower is light , easy to use and no maintenance. The only draw back is it has no torque. If your lawn is thick or tall, you will need a gas mower or cut your lawn twice. You can cut it down a inch at time. Cut your lawn more often than if you have a gas mower.

    For small yard

Affordable product for a quite small yard. Safety device requires pushing a button in the center of the handlebars then continue holding a button on the handle. If you loosen your grip, the mower shuts off.For my purposes, it functions well. About 300 sq ft yard.

    Three or four stars

I debated on 3 or 4 start because it works great but the holes on the arm attachment were “punched” wrong. The screws that came did not fit. So I took the handle piece and my screw to true value & had them try to find a screw that would work. None would. So the man did something to the handle piece – re “punch it” and then my screws fit and it works great!! It’s quiet and light weight. Not for huge yards or it will take you a really long time to mow

    Works on VERY small lawns

I like it for my application. It leaves a few stragglers on those tough stalky weeds that invaded my rather small backyard but it’s such a small yard I and I have degenerative disc, so I didn’t want to yank a pull start to mow a 40×20 yard.I only deduct 1 star because honestly the grass exhaust needs a redesign. If you don’t use the bag, and I don’t, it doesn’t expell clippings worth a dam. I prop the back trap door open a couple inches (where the bag attaches) but that gives me grassy legs when I mow. Here where I live, it’s dewy in the morning and my grass is always a tick damp when I mow it except on very rare occasions. It’s just to damp and humid, it never really dries the thick grass down low at cutting level. So it clogs. It could definitely discharge better

    Works great

This is a great buy, I had long over grown grass this machine cut through it with ease. Most gas mowers would of cut out when going through to long of grass. Not this machine. I did how ever have to buy 100ft outdoor extension cable, which was a rather cheap investment. The lawn mower it self i really like its light weight and has a extension cord storage bracket on the head of the machine. It also comes with the clipping bag which is nice and easy to dispose of the unwanted clippings. I haven’t had any issues with this electric mower, gas mowers are a thing of the past. You have to buy gas and oil. You need to change spark plugs. Just a total pain in the butt. For this electric lawn mower all you need is the machine and a long extension cable and you good to go. I also have a very large backyard so it isn’t just for small yards.

    Not for a big yard

If I didn’t have a half-acre of land to mow, this would be the perfect lawnmower for me. It cuts clean, it’s easy to adjust. It was kind of a hassle to put together, but once I got everything connected, it was definitely easy to use. A little hard to turn, even with the pivot feature, but it moved smoothly once you got it going. Downside was the grass-catch bag filled up REALLY quickly. I couldn’t mow more than 3 or 4 rows before I had to dump it. Like I said, great for a small yard, maybe a quarter-acre or less. Do NOT get this if you have more than that, trust me! Amazon made it SUPER easy to return, though!

Thank you Black & Decker Nice small Mower

The “corded” version can be a bit tricky but the mower is less expensive, and I’m getting the hang of it. 17″ is a more narrow cut but I needed the least weight of a corded mower, due to my age and physical limitations. It’s no problem because it gives me exercise. It’s easy to push, seems to have enough amps for our yard.

It is light weight, but also fragile. It was replace by warranty.

light weight because it is mostly made of plastic. But that plastic is fragile. The broken arm in the attached photo controls the mow height. With it broken it falls the lowest mow height, which is too low for my thick grass. This broke after 18 months of use. Black & Decker supports this mower with a 2 year warranty. I submitted a warranty request and Black & Decker sent a replacement.

Good buy for the price point

The lawnmower is a good product for its price. Has my yard looking great. Very simple to assemble. But upon assembling it I found that the screws and the threads in the handle to keep it all attached were not the same size. I had to go out and buy screws that fit. Also had to zip tie the cord to the handles because the clips that come with it are cheap and always fall off leaving the power cord hanging and in danger to be run over and ruined. But all in all for the money it is a good buy.

Easy to assemble, easy to use!

This was replacing a smaller, less expensive mower that stopped working. I’m a single mom and I can do basic assembly by myself but I don’t have a second person to help (besides the kids), so anything complicated, requiring power tools I don’t own, or requiring two people I usually need to pay to have someone else assemble it. This was very easy & quick for me to put together myself with a Phillips screwdriver. Upon completion, I was able to completely mow my front lawn in about 20 minutes. The previous mower took me about an hour, and it would frequently stall, need the bag to be emptied, or overheat. Honestly, this is the mower I’d recommend to everyone.

    It doesn’t last!

It doesn’t last. I bought this to get ready for the summer. I didn’t actually take it out of the box for about a month. I don’t have a very big lawn so I thought electric would be the way to go. So I have used it twice over a three week period. I went out this morning and everything is dead. It’s not my cords (tried three) and not my outlets because other items work. It just is dead and won’t run. Of course it is past the return window because I bought early. This was a big mistake!

Must buy if thinking of buying!

Cuts beautifully and effortlessly! The motor makes a huge difference and how wide the blades are. I’m sooo happy that I got this mower. It’s super easy to put together. It’s not that light but when it’s on and your cutting the grass, it’s smooth like butter. Everything that on the mower is easy to do and I don’t have to trim as much as I used to. Only thing is I wish that it had the option to have the grass shoot out instead of picking up the clippings as I cut.

B & D electric mower, not good for sandy soil

I have owned and loved a B & D lawnmower in the past year and loved it. I purchased this one because I relocated and did not bring my B&D with me. This one is way to light weight and also does not move around as easy but most important is that it does not mow well and it ended up picking up too much of the sandy soil rather than cutting the grass. Going to send it back asap.

    Good Value

I have been using it for a few months. It is perfect for a typical small yards like mine. The blade is a little soft, it dents easy. I had to sharpen it every two uses. Due to the cables, mowing needs some strategy. Cabling can be a hassle sometimes. Power is just enough, it bogs at times over thicker grass. Other than that, I am happy with it.

Cheap plastic product with missing parts.

Arrived missing parts to hold extension cord. The screws/bolts didn’t fit. We contacted Black and Decker they didn’t even offer to send the missing parts. I had a Black And Decker corded mower for many years and when it quit working I thought this new one would also be as good. However this model’s handle is uncomfortable, my arms get tired as do my hands trying to keep engine going. The gear to adjust the height of the blade is cheap plastic. I doubt it will last long. Even the tires are made of plastic. Definitely will not buy this model again.

Product received on time, however can’t use it because well first and foremost I don’t have any screws to hold the handle together so I have to wait for those replacement parts and the box was so severely damaged that the bagger was apparently crushed and bent beyond use so I have to wait for that replacement part. My grass will be a foot tall by then 🙄

    Plastic junk

Ordered while it was on sale during the winter. Took it out in the spring and the height adjuster was not functional and wouldn’t stay above the minimum setting. Was already past return period so couldn’t return. Secured the height with a screw. Used three times and the motor all of a sudden wouldn’t go above a few ram and started smoking. Now trying to deal with B&D warranty service.

A Great Mower For The Investment

The Black & Decker Mower was a wonderful investment and works perfectly in my yard. One can adjust the wheels for a desired cut; and, the bagger collects the clippings with ease. Yes, it requires an extension cord; but, this is a small price to pay if one doesn’t want to deal with the mess and the expense of a traditional gas engine mower; or, the uncertainty of a lithium battery power mower.

    Done with Gas Mowers

The media could not be loaded.

Bought this because I was tired of fighting with gas powered lawnmowers not firing up after a couple of seasons despite running E087 fuel.. I don’t use the grass catcher so it becomes a mulching mower. Works great for my small yard.

    Great corded mower

This mower was easily assembled. Great for the small area I need to keep mowed in my backyard. Takes a bit longer to mow than using a cordless or gasoline powered mower due to ensuring the cord is not run over, but easily maneuvered even with one hand walking forward or backward. Glad I purchased it as it met my immediate needs – and it takes up little room in my garage. 🙂

    Affordable, lightweight mower

Forgot I was looking to replace my same brand ‘mulching mower’, surprised at how agile it is, and thus equally ‘fragile’. It is not a mulching mower, takes longer to do a good job, so just mow more often, empty the collector carriage twice as often, the neck is more narrow and a full collector struggles to release content.

Not a “Mower” because it doesn’t cut

This is the worst “mower” that I have ever used…push reel, power reel, gas rotary or electric rotary. It replaces a 20 year old electric rotary (can’t remember the brand) that I had to discard because of a cracked deck. My old mower was a 20″ cut. This one, while the largest at 17″, is still much more cumbersome and inconvenient to use. The pivot handle is useless, don’t bother with it. Be prepared to mow it in 4 different directions each mowing just to begin to get a smooth lawn. My lawn is well cared for, no crab grass, nice and green, no moss but this “mower” leaves streaks and because of the long deck and widely spaced wheels any bump in the surface either causes scalps or leaves uncut grass. I can’t give it any less than one star but I sure would if I could. I do give it 2 stars for lightweight, after all it is plastic. Don’t bother purchasing this mower, you’ll be sorry.
