Reasonable hot laptop, VR works but needs extra parts.
I bought this as a bit of an impulse purchase – I broke my old laptop in the process of demoing my htc vive to my niece. This turned out to be a sticking point as the vive bluetooth drivers did not get along with windows 11, so a memory setting had to be turned off.The other obstacle to VR is the hdmi output cannot connect to the hot gpu ( 3070) in my case. Only the usb-c thunderbolt4 displayport can use it for external displays, so be warned you need a usbc adapter to match whatever you are connecting. One it was working it worked well, giving nice rich colours in beat saber. The screen and speakers are fine.It was delivered in good time during liminal week between Christmas and New year, the pass code worked fine. As with modern laptops there was very little physical media in the box, just a warranty card and basic manual.I added another 8gb of ram and the old m.2 drive from my broken laptop, one screw on the base is designed to stay locked onto the plastic and lever it up far enough to get a tool into. Grab a guitar pick tool at purchase if you plan to upgrade right away. The 2nd m.2 screw was very tight so use the right size screw driver to avoid slipping.I can’t comment yet on longevity but so-far so -good more or less. Main caveat is get some usbc cables so you don’t waste time on the hdmi port.

Very good as desktop replacement, not that much as laptop, very bad screen and keyboard
TL;DR: Very good CPU and graphics for the price, very bad keyboard and screen, it’s good if you want a not-so-expensive desktop replacement that can also game well. The good things:- strong processor and an RTX4070 in a not-so-expensive package, so you can use it as a desktop replacement connected to a BT keyboard and external screen(s).This laptop runs exactly like a desktop with an RTX4060, it runs modern games at high settings on a 27″ screen (I’m rocking Cyberpunk at about 85fps, CoD MW at over 100fps at 2560×1440, less demanding stuff like Doom Eternal runs at 100+fps with Raytracing). CPU is similar in performance to a strong desktop computer too.The bad things:- keyboard: you don’t see the letters cause they’re transparent, dark grey on black, you must have keyboard lighting on all the time, and during daytime even at max it’s too low. Also, you can’t use white cause it’s too dim and doesn’t provide enough contrast, you have to have keys lit in strong red, green or blue.- screen: very low brightness, very low contrast, bad colours, you must set it on “vivid” and still, can barely read in a well lit room. But it’s £1.3k. If you need a desktop replacement that’s not too big/heavy, this one is OK as long as you install some decent memory and SSDs, and use it with external monitors, keyboard and mouse.(I’m not talking about the completely useless 500GB SSD it comes with. If you’re evaluating this laptop, you’re already planning to upgrade to some fancy expensive SSDs anyway. If you go this route, note that the empty M2 bay is the fast one connected to the proc, the already filled one is the slow one. Still PCIe4 but slightly slower, gave me lower IOPS. Also, the BIOS is picky so, if after upgrade it won’t immediately start, don’t panic, give it some time, it will start)

Good but falsely advertised, received a DDR4 Version
Good but falsely advertised, received a DDR4 Version which was pretty damn annoying as I already had 64GB of brand new RAM waiting for this machine, therefore pay little attention to the description, only certain markets have DDR5 Dimm slots, evidently not this one.Other than that, it’s great, have had many previous TUF models, screen is way better than my previous TUF Dash F15 which is what I upgraded from.Battery life pretty good, wouldn’t use it for Gaming on battery though as expect that would be poor, main use of this machine is coding and the 14core Cpu excells at that.

Brilliant laptop for the price
Great laptop for the price. Comes with an RTX 4060 and 7735HS so it has switchable graphics. When I first got it I had a few driver problems with bluetooth and wifi but they have since been resolved and not come back in over a month now and I’ve had the laptop about 2 months. When using the iGPU (which is weak s don’t expect to do much gaming on that) battery life is excellent, its great for streaming from my desktop using moonlight/sunshine. When going full swing with the 4060 the battery life is pretty poor. You’ll get just over an hour of gaming time out of it roughly. The keyboard is a chicklet design so not mechanical but not mushy either. The RGB is single zone and not per key, but it is bright enough. Its also fully compatible with OpenRGB in case you’re like me and don’t like Armoury Crate. The laptop is upgradable as it has two Nvme slots and two ram slots supporting up to 32Gb ram. The built in SSD is pretty bad, once it runs out of cache the performance tanks to hard drive speeds. I recommend cloning it to a better Nvme like I did and moving it to the second slot and only use as a storage drive. Fan profiles are good although cannot be manually tuned, the bios is heavily restricted except the boot drive choice and you cannot use the silent profile when connected to a power source for some reason, which is a shame since its inaudible when the silent profile is in use. The turbo profile is useless as it just maxes out the fans which is very loud and unnecessary. Performance mode is a good balance but sometimes can be a little on the loud side. Sound is pretty good once properly configured which it isn’t out of the box. Its clearly not real surround sound but its better than a lot of laptops, just don’t expect to be blown away either. Overall 8/10, very happy with it

Faulty
Although the laptop is considered a “budget” version it still doesn’t defeat that fact that I’ve ordered it brand new and on the 8th day I got a black horizontal line running through my desktop so the repair took longer than the days I’ve practically owned it. I read some others reviews online and it’s not just me, looks like this is a common issue with this model. 2 stars for the laptop itself, it’s lightweight, it’s cooling systems are relatively satisfactory (you can’t fry your eggs on it) the design is really nice. 1 star for the price but it’s stops there, probably if I didn’t have the issue with the screen it would be a 5/5.To summarise, if you are in desperate need for a decent laptop for casual gaming and everyday tasks and looking at saving on some of the more expensive brands then you can buy this laptop

Public announcement to anyone buying!
Do not install the “Armoury Crate” app or update through the AMD Software app. Just update the drivers through Windows update. The apps above cause a black screen upon restarting. It took me a while and a few reinstalls to figure this out. Other than this, after a week of non-stop use it seems like a great budget option for gaming and Photoshop. The keyboard layout is something to get used to, especially if you can blind type. Very quiet until you boot up a game. The display is nice and big. The speakers are not great just functional, you should hook up external speakers for long-term enjoyment.

Good for the price
Good specs.Could use a bigger SSD or addition of an HDD, but you can add these externally.Runs uncomfortably hot under load and the fans are noticeably loud so don’t recommend using it for heavy gaming for long though it can handle games at high settings at good frames but again wouldn’t risk it for too long with the hot spots.Good for what I wanted it for (mid gaming ie. Minecraft, 7 days to die, Ark, Conan, Skyrim with mods etc. study and programming)Good battery life when in low power mode, compared to other laptops I’ve had.Option to use the graphics card as default (via armoury crat) is nice where some force you to use switching between integrated and discreet (will considerably reduce battery life if doing this though)Overall great little laptop for the price.

Decent all rounder, not quite next gen though
Not as powerful as a next gen console but runs everything else fine. Gets around 30fps at most in Remnant 2 and 60-100 in older games.Battery life isn’t great and it’s really heavy so not that portable

Better then average laptop and lowest spec from all
Not so good how i was expectedIts bit slower so maybe better processor i7 will be ideal. And 3050 graphics are the lowest so don’t expect it will run new games in high ipsOtherwise I like it. I can upgrade memory and ram so I will…for sour it will cost me 60 extra for ram whats not bad and memory mhh its expensive so I will leave 512gb and I buy usb stick for extra files

Good low to mid range gaming machine
I bought this machine as something relatively affordable for playing Microsoft Flight Simulator as well as being a general purpose machine.Overall I’m very happy with it – it runs fast enough and is very robust. There are some compromises, but I feel they are reasonable for the price.Slight negatives – only two USB-A port (it does have a USB-C and a USB 4.0 port as well), so a USB hub is necessary if you have more than a couple of devices – and it comes with only a 500 G-byte SSD – although it’s possible to fit a second one if you’re prepared to take the back off your machine. You can also change the fitted memory if you want more. There are You-tube videos to show you how. I will probably do so, although I haven’t built up the courage yet. The built in camera is also only 720P, but that’s not a big deal for me.The multi-coloured keyboard background lighting is a bit gimmicky, but it’s easily adjustable to a single colour or even off completely.

Decent upper-mid tier laptop
This is a decent laptop but if you can get an RTX 4080 instead of the 4070 then you should do so as the 4070 is limited to only 140 watts which hinders performance compared to the 4080 and 4090 which can go up to 175 watts. As a result this laptop loses a star because the GPU cannot open up to its full potential.

Fantastic Laptop, but with the “Black Screen” issue
The laptops performance is brilliant. It runs all my games and design tools. But unfortunately I keep getting a black screen that I can’t get out of, so I’m having to hard reset it on occasion. It seems to happen when I close the top when it’s on and sometimes when booting up. I’m hoping an update might rectify it eventually or I’ll have to return it.

Sometimes Games froze
I bought this laptop and I tested it with geekbench and other be benchmark tools. Let`s say that the games were decent when it didn`t freeze and I had to exit them. Also the writing speeds where horrible. If I wanted to copy something from an external source it took ages but if I wanted to move a file or make a copy it was really fast. I believe mine was faulty so I returned it. It seems like a good laptop when it doesn`t freeze.

Avoid
The laptop itself is pretty good for the spec especially the gpu – however there is a major issue with the WiFi card just over a month after having it the WiFi card stopped working, did the usual to try and sort it and got it working again but I was lucky if I was getting an hours use before it stopped again. Did a repair back to Asus as it was a couple of days out of warranty and got it back about a week later (8th September) and so far been fine – until today and the error is back again – I have managed to get it working again but it will be going back to Asus and I wouldn’t recommend this laptop to anyone – googling a search on the WiFi card seems to be a common issue.

Powerful laptop but you can’t use the second SSD slot
Runs cooler than a previous and less powerful Asus TUF. Seems to play everything on high/extreme at at least 60fps.Screen is fine but could be brighter. Pretty standard. The massive flaw that to add another M.2 SSD (there is a slot for this) you have to remove a screw on the motherboard. The problem is that the screw absolutely WILL NOT BUDGE. Technique doesn’t matter. There are hundreds of other complaints about this online for ASUS motherboards and laptops. Apparently they GLUE that screw in with Loclite/threadlocker. What the hell ASUS? Seriously? So yeah the laptop is fine if you’re OK with a 500g hard drive.

Good, fast, feels robust. Set up bit of a pain.
Straight out of the box this feels like a good robust laptop. The keyboard has a nice crisp feel but the layout takes a little while to get used to after other laptops – not bad, just different.Bought for church song lyric projection and music playback using dedicated apps as well as Powerpoint, Youtube, Spotify, so good graphics capability and speed was a high priority in our choice of model. This seems to meet that need very well.Setting it up is a bit of a pain but this is more down to Microsoft Windows 11 than the manufacturer, in particular that I wanted to use the same login credentials for multiple (non admin) users as on its predecessor and not use One Drive or a Microsoft account and pin to login. Once over that hurdle it works well and is pretty quick.I would like to uninstall the Asus “Armoury Crate” app which appears to have no value for non-gamers but keeps popping up wanting to install updates but so far have not worked out how to do so – the option is not available via control panel. The continually colour changing backlight on the keyboard is quite annoying. I would prefer one, non changing, colour but so far have not found how to change that so have dimmed it down to off completely.Other reviewers have said the fans are a bit noisy but we have not found this to be the case with our type of usage -projecting videos , song lyrics and playing music. The built in loud speakers are not very loud at all and the sound is a bit lacking in depth through them. However the sound quality via the combined headphone/audio out/mic socket is very good with a high gain and minimal noise when connected to our p.a. system.I consider the lack of vga socket (as is the case with almost all laptops these days) a downside as hdmi sockets can be prone to becoming loose and unreliable with frequent plugging and unplugging. Having both types of socket would be preferable to give resilience in the event of a failure. That said the socket on this laptop does seem a nice tight and secure fit so we will have to see how it holds up.All in all pleased with our purchase.

Excellent surprise
I bought this laptop 4 months ago to play online and to work on Davinci Resolve (4K video editor). No lag at all, all the last games are OK on it (Starfield for ex) in High quality. It’s possible to plug a HDMI cable or, if you want more FPS to plug a USBC to DIsplay (as me to play on a 3440X1440 monitor). No issue at all, the PC is not warm at all.

ASUS TUF A15 FA507NV – Experience so far
The Asus TUF laptop is great all rounded laptop.Pros:- Can play majority of the games with graphics set to high- Design is also very nice- Value for money compared to other brands.- Also not heavy and you can take with you.Cons:- The laptop can get hot and you can also feel the heat through the keyboard area. I bought a Laptop Cooling Pad to help keep the laptop cooler.- Battery life is not that great but just plug it in when you game. It has different battery life options to select from, but that has an impact on performance.

Overall brilliant laptop for mediocre gaming. Won’t play all games at highest settings, but older games will never fails and the SSD drive makes a big difference. You can also expand the RAM, but I’d recommend an expert technician to get that done. Overall happy with this purchase.

2nd faulty laptop return
I had already purchased this laptop and returned it as the unit would not turn on with power button, I’d only had 2 weeks so got a refund.I then purchased the same Asus gaming Tuff laptop but with a bit lower spec, I’d only used it about 5 hours on different days to do music files, I turned it on and was doing work on it after it updated something, it then switched off and again same problem with the last unit it would not start again, I had to return and the laptop and had to have a new part on it apparently, I received my laptop back within a few days but I think this is unacceptable for a brand new laptop, I will no longer purchase any Asus gaming laptop or any other name from Asus as many of this brand does the same thing I found out from other people owning one. My old Sony Vaio has never had this problem and still going strong although its outdated this is why i purchased a new one👺

Screen is bad, sound is worse. Runs nicely though 🤷♂️
Honestly it’s a lot less chunky than I was expecting, it isn’t any bigger than a standard 17 inch laptop I had at school circa 2007/8. It fits in my rucksack just fine, although not in the laptop compartment but that’s kind of expected. It’s a bit edgy-looking but not nearly as bad as some of the others on the market, and the build quality feels pretty decent; nice fat keys with a lot of travel. If nothing else you have something to swing at a mugger.Picture quality is eh. Not sure what all the fuss in the marketing around the screen is about, it delivers well in terms of Hz but it’s not an OLED screen and never will be, so colours and contrasts are mediocre at the best of times. It’s not a terrible screen by any means but noticeably not ‘good’. The sound quality is pretty bad also. If you care about good sound you’ll need something external, a nice pair of headphones or speakers, preferably with a DAC attachment if you’re listening to music for any length of time, cus literally my phone has better sound. It wasn’t clear in the marketing (from what I could see anyway) exactly what connections it came with and where, so here’s a run-down.On the left hand-side there’s the power socket, 1x Ethernet port, 1x HDMI, 2x USB 3.1s, 1x USB-C/thunderbolt 4, and a 3mm headphone socket. On the right hand-side there’s just a USB 3.1. Seems a little lopsided to be honest, but I guess there’s plenty of power for an external hub if you want lots of connections.By default the fans are loud and will periodically spin up and down when doing anything simple like watching youtube, but they are configurable with either an F-button on the keyboard or in the Armour Crate application where you can also do things like change the keyboard colour and give specific apps preset GPU limitations etc.Runs most games I threw at it without much hassle, nice and powerful so it kinda makes up for the downsides. Cus what’s the point of a nice screen if minesweeper bricks it?

A gem, with only minor flaws.
There is a reason why Amazon reccemmends this model – and sells so many.I’ve only had it a few days, but so far it’s a good replacement for my tuf 15 from the end of 2019.The Ryzen 9 7940HS is reasonably grunty, and the Nvidia rtx 4070 seems to cope with everything.Latest DDR 5 ram keeps up.Feels well screwed together. No frills.Should be future proof for a good while. The SSD should really have been 1TB, but it comes with only half of that. This means you will likely need an SSD upgrade almost immediately (potentially voiding any warranty).Screen shows patchy bleed though when displaying black screen, and generally isn’t up there with the best, but it’s not a big deal for me and is reflected in the competitive price.I took a long time comparing specs and I’m happy I ended up with the best perfomance-v-price solution. The chips run quite cool too, which was something I was keen on.If you can afford it, get it. You are unlikely to be disappointed.

Great purchase
The laptop runs quickly and is a amazing to use, runs games with ease and great to record. Only issue I have is the power light and keyboard lights pulsing when left idle but it’s such a small issue and there is probably a way to sort that, that I’m too lazy to fix

This laptop is a BEAST.
The media could not be loaded.
This laptop is a beast, it’s CPU is better than my desktop CPU, the GPU is only about 20% slower than the RTX 3070 in my pc. The RAM is fast too.The screen is pretty good, nice deep colours when gaming and it has different profiles in the Asus app. It has a turbo mode which pumps this bad boy (3070Ti) up to 140w. The sound isn’t amazing but it’s definitely not something to cry over. The fans are noisey if you’re going to sit there gaming or running heavy apps, especially in turbo/performance mode. If you want quiet then swap to the integrated GPU and put it into eco and silent mode. They really aren’t as bad as people are making out, you just need to find tune it slightly to suit. You can also decrease the OC for the GPU and CPU so you can reduce temps there as well and adjust the fan curve if you really want to get into it. But I find the profiles are good enough, especially as I wear a headset mostly. All in all this is a beast of a machine and I’m surprised at how well it runs my games, I’m getting 45-50 FPS on streets in Tarkov. 144 in LoL. And probably excellent in others once I’ve downloaded I’m sure. You won’t find as good a deal as this right now, I’ve searched far and wide and decided to return back to The Shire and just buy this. Do. Not. Regret.Update. Metro exodus enhanced runs on ultra with DLSS on quality, x4 AA, ray tracing on quality too and the general settings set to extreme..nice and smooth with no stuttering or lag. Temps are around 75’c-80’c.I’ve recorded a video with my head set on so you can hear the fans. As you can see it looks awesome and is super smooth. The colours are better than my desktop monitor.

Good Product
Price to performance definitely not the best laptop however it is good for playing most titles at low to medium settings at 1080p and doesn’t get too hot for a laptop. Annoying part it since I bought it less then 24hrs after the product went down almost 90 euro.

Asus undersells itself
I wanted to buy a decent middle range laptop not for gaming as I’m not a gamer so I settled for this as both Asus and AMD have a history of reliability with me. I enjoy building computers and upgrading laptops and have allways gone with AMD being cheaper for the same amount of power compared to intel. When I read into the specs for this laptop on the Asus web page it states that it supports upto 32GB of DDR5 Ram and upto a 2TB NVME for its primary drive. How wrong that is.As I stated I enjoy upgrading laptops so I ordered Kingston Fury Impact 64GB DDR5 5600Mhz just on the off chance and low and behold this laptop does support 64GB as shown in the Screen shot. Now it will support 64GB however it will only run at 4800Mhz and not 5600Mhz as the BIOS does not give the option of XMP nor does it allow you to set the RAM speed at all.Secondly it states Max 2TB for the primary drive and yet I purchased a WD Black 850X 4TB drive and again as seen in the second screen shot it does support this bigger drive.Hope this information helps.

Abysmal after sales
Back key came off within a week. Asus were quick to collect then waited 2 weeks, no contact. Called them up and was told its not covered under warranty as I must’ve used excessive force so I am liable. He was kind to give me 3 options. 1 – Pay £158 for the key replacement plus delivery. 2 – Pay £15 and they’ll send it back unfixed or 3 (I could feel the smirk over the phone) – Pay nothing and we will destroy the less than 30 day old laptop!I ended up speaking to Asus directly, not their outsourced repair centre and got it back, fixed and for free. Based on this experience I will by Asus products with caution. The laptop is great by the way! 😂

Powerful gaming laptop
Early days since i bought it, but so far, its a very good gaming laptop. Battery does not last long when unpluggled, probably because it switches to performance mode for gaming. It does play the latest AAA games. The fan can bit a bit loud over time.

Battery This Bad Really?
Nice laptop apart from the battery life. If you plan on gaming even when using powersaving settings gives you a few hours gaming without plugging into wall. Expected at least 4 hours without having to plug in. Sent back.

Superb performance
Wow, im in love, i have a ps5 and wanted to get an xbox series x, ibe been using a steam deck as a main pc for 5 months and gaming in that is ok but its not really powerful enough…this asus tuf 15 with a 4060 in it though…its blown my mind. No need for an xbox now, this thing with a 4069 is running fortnite with dlss active 115fps 144hz and everything maxed out, stunning the pannel is really good quality, and for a laptop the sound is great. Whilst gaming if you put it in turbo mode the fans will ramp up to 6000rpm, its loud, but, when gaming via headset or the speakers the fan noise gets drowned out. In silent mode for browsing and film watching…its ultra whisper quiet. Forza horizon 5 1080p maxed out, dlss…144fps locked it looks stunning. If u have this laptop and game pass…your golden, will play everything you throw at it 1080p max settings for £1,179….this is amazing oerformance, the Ryzen cpu also has integrated graphics so with it on battery 4060 switches off and the 90w battery last a good few hrs for content creation etc….premium laptop too very good keyboard not a huge amount if travel in the keys but its good, and the materials are premium feeling and yes….finger print magnet but what isnt…..very very very impressed.

Solid build and great price
To summarize: an excelent laptop with few minor flaws, definitely worth a buy for this price. Best to use external keyboard and headset while gaming. When it arrived, i was immediately impressed with construction, this thing is sturdy and very well built. Performance-wise it runs like a butter, runs games on high and medium graphics without issues, achieves 144 fps with no bother. Screen has really good colors. It comes with few pre-installed softwares, namely armoury that’s a fancy version of resource monitor which is pretty handy. Performance is an A+ in my book. Now, im sure you want to see the negatives when considering buying this laptop:First: the fans do get a little loud while playing, for me not an issue since i use headphones, but its definitely noticeable. Also, if you use mouse with your right hand like me, the ventilation blows the hot air directly on it if your hand is too close to the laptops right side.Second(and last): the keyboard keys need to be pressed hard. Not an issue with writing, but while gaming you need to keep tight tension on keys else it starts jittering between pressed and not pressed state. Not ideal for racing games/shooters if you are used to mechanical keyboards where the key detection is done in much better manner.

very good but can be excellent
The CPU and GPU have got a high max power draw so give you plenty of power aaaand heat. The cooling pipes are great but, the fan curve set to anything but flat out Turbo is not well created. Granted, you can set up custom fan curves in the Armory Crate but aint nobody got time for that. The easiet solution for me was to enable the MUX switch permanantly, yes it has one, and disable the CPU turbo by setting the max power draw to 99% in windows power settings. This brought the temps down from 75c-85c in gaming to 65c-75c. For gaming, there was no FPS drop as the processor isn’t working very hard but idk if it would greatly affect other scenarios. In short, on Turbo the fans are very loud whereas on performance mode, they change from excellent cooling at a high speed and very loud till the temps drop below 60c, then they switch off and after 30 sec you are at 85c again making them roar to life for 30 seconds till the temps drop below 60c again, repeat. I wish there were better fan curves and maybe one day I will create my own but for now the steps I described above work well enough for me.Overall I would recommend this laptop for a good price, which at the time of writing was 1200.00 but not too much more. The screen is also a bit dim in a very bright enviroment but who would want to use it in one like that for gaming anyways?

Good price decent laptop a bit heavy though
I bought this laptop after researching all the laptops in this price bracket. I have found that the overall best is this one and it didn’t disappoint. The build quality is good and sturdy. The screen has nice colours, great refresh rate, the keyboard is very good and easy to type. The laptop itself performs very well in gaming and thanks to the new gen nVidia graphics card which supports the new version of DLSS all tested games have way over 60FPS with Ray-Tracing on.

Laptop didn’t work!
Please don’t buy this as laptop! The laptop would not even turn on so I sent it back (other people have had the same issue with this same laptop) Amazon have clearly lost the item (blamed UPS at first so I opened an investigation with them) customer services have been no help and still no refund !!!!! This was a birthday present for my son! I have to wait 40 days for my refund so my son has gone with a present as I can’t afford another £800 to buy one so I have no choice but to wait for refund but Amazon don’t care enough to find out where the item even is although tracking is saying they have it! Still no refund had to contact financial ombudsman

A very good mid-level gaming laptop with one very big problem
My desktop PC died some time ago and after the energy prices went through the roof, I was reluctant to replace it. Now that they’re a little less insane but still high, I decided I’d start looking at laptops that could handle some of my old favourite games and a few newer ones that aren’t available on game streaming services like GFN. After a couple of weeks of considering my options, I decided to go for the F15 with the i7-12700H and 4060 GPU.I’m using it mostly as a desktop replacement. I have it hooked it up to two monitors, one via HDMI, the other by a USB-C to Displayport cable. During operation, I have the laptop screen turned off as well as the LED backlit keyboard. I already have a Roccat Pyro keyboard and Kone XP mouse, so there are enough things glowing on my desk.I’ll get my annoyance out of the way first. The laptop comes with 512GB of NVME storage. The good news is NVME is superfast. Far superior to a SATA SSD and makes any sort of mechanical drive look like a crippled snail in comparison. The laptop boots in seconds, which makes all of those times you’ll need to restart because of Windows updates so much more tolerable. However, 512GB isn’t much. Install a couple of modern bulky games, such as Baldur’s Gate 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 and you’ve just run out of space. Asus have been kind enough to provide a second M.2 slot to add a larger capacity NVME drive without needing to go through the faff of replacing the boot drive. However, on my laptop, the second M.2 slot screw was extremely overtightened. I had to *very* carefully extract the screw with pliers which is not something I wanted to do, nor would I recommend it. One slip and you’ve just ruined your laptop. There is very little space between the M.2 screw and side ports so it’s not an easy job to remove it this way.I don’t know whether the overtightened screw is a persistent issue with these laptops, or whether I’m one of the unlucky ones but a quick browse on Twitter (sorry, “X”) suggested I’m not the only person to have experienced this particular issue. That out of the way, with my new 4TB NVME drive finally installed and formatted, I’ve been able to give this laptop a proper shakedown. It is very good. Admittedly, I’m only using 1080p screens with it. You could get 1440p performance out of this on a lot of modern games. 4K would be pushing it on newer releases, but you do get native support for Nvidia’s DLSS 3 technology which is a very good upscaling technology where the GPU renders the game in a lower resolution and then uses AI to upscale it to a larger resolution. I know from my experiences with GeForce Now just how incredible this technology is.Having tested it on a range of games, from older titles to newer ones, including Baldur’s Gate 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I can say that at 1080p, you’ll be able to enjoy most of your games at the higher settings. The Armoury Crate software isn’t the most intuitive software in the world but it does let you do some very nifty things. As I’ve connected it to monitors, the integrated (power efficient) graphics processor is disabled and everything runs through the dedicated Nvidia GPU. You can deliberately throttle the CPU and GPU to lower power draw and temperatures during basic tasks like Office, web browsing, video streaming, etc. and have the laptop automatically switch to Performance mode when playing games or any other tasks you specify. This is much more effective than using the Windows Balanced power plan and will save a few pennies on your energy bill if you regularly run the laptop from mains power.Battery life isn’t great, but it’s not too bad either. Personally, it doesn’t really affect me but you can get a good few hours out of it on light tasks. Games and other high-performance applications like video editors or Photoshop will start slurping the juice so don’t expect hours of gaming on the go from it unless you’re happy with lowish settings. Those used to a chunky Return button on the keyboard will likely find themselves constantly hitting an annoying placed # key instead. Since I’m using my own keyboard, that isn’t too much of a problem for me but before I’d connected it all up, that was something I did a lot.One other possible quibble is the lack of USB-A ports. Fortunately, it does actually have them unlike a lot of lighter, thinner laptops these days that only seem to USB-C ports but it’s only got two of them. If you want to hook up and external keyboard, mouse, headset, maybe a mass storage external drive, you’ll need a USB hub and I would suggest getting a mains-powered USB hub so that you’re limiting the power draw from the laptop so that your hardware can perform to its best.Overall, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better laptop at this price point. If you’re really hoping to hook it up to a 4K TV, then you’re better off looking at the more expensive 4070 version. If 1080p, either via the laptop itself or via an external monitor is enough for you, then this will do the trick. You’ll also have very good performance in applications like Photoshop and Media Encoder.

Really happy with it
Great performance with the Intel i7 12700h and Nvidia RTX 4060.So far only played The Division 2 and Starfield with an external ultra wide monitor 21:9 3440×1440 resolution and I get constant over 60fps, so I assume at 1080p it will run a lot better. It has plenty of ports, 2 USB-C with DP, HDMI, RJ45, USB 3…Display is decent, with great colours and some backlight bleed but nothing major.Noise levels are terrible if you use turbo mode, I would advise to use Performance mode instead. You get way better low noise and you don’t lose any noticeable performance. It does come with some bloatware Mcafee, a lot of Asus apps, Armory Crate, while it’s useful for assigned keys on the keyboard and setting performance profiles it does use quite a lot of Ram. My laptop idling uses 40% of 16gb of Ram, if you don’t plan to upgrade to 32gb I would advise to do a fresh install of windows or at least uninstall all of unnecessary apps. Its losing 1 star because it only comes with and 512gb nvme storage as default. At this price point it’s unbelievable that we are getting sold such low storage gaming laptops, you are lucky to be able to install 4 recent AAA games on it.At £950 it’s a great entry level gaming laptop and definitely worth paying extra over the RTX 4050.

Laptop I’m happy with
Off the mark I’m not computer savvy, so even tough this laptop is good enough for me and my needs it might not be for you. I’m playing the odd game on it such as Sniper 5 and Scum, seems to handle these games well enough with very minimum lag. It does lag now and again doing simple tasks such as browsing the Internet, but I do leave alot of pages open so this might be a ‘me’ problem not the computer. The only downside for me is battery life this is drained very quickly. But over all for this old timer I’m happy with what I need it for. Oh that flashing keyboard does my head in to, tried to turn it off but just comes back on.

Slightly silly branding, but a good product.
I strongly recommend buying some LED blocking stickers to cover up the blindingly bright white status lights right in the middle of the machine. That was an insane design choice. Also the general “Grrr. military” styling is quite silly. But all that aside it’s a solid machine with good components. It feels well built, nice solid hinges and runs well.I’ve been mostly using it on a stand with a plugged in keyboard, but when I have used it the keyboard itself felt decent. Though it is quite “Gamery” (W,A, S, D, keys are highlighted specially for example)As a warning though, I ordered one of these and was sent some dogfood instead. I ordered a second one, because I was able to, and needed a laptop, and am still waiting on Amazon to refund the dogfood (though I’m sure they will once they’ve gone through the correct procedures) so open the parcel and CHECK INSIDE! before giving the “Expensive item” confirmation code to the courier.

OK but
I already had a laptop with a Ryzen 5 5600h with an igpu and a GeForce 1650 GTX. When I saw the Asus with a 3050 and 144Hz screen I had to buy it. Unfortunately it was working much harder to do the same job my 1650 did with ease and so I sent it back. If you don’t have anything similar then it would probably be good for you. However, don’t buy it expecting an improvement over a similar spec product you already have.

really good gaming laptop
Its really good for gaming, can play on the highest graphics with no lag and more than 90fps , the screen however is 144ghz which sometimes leaves shadowing effects for fps games. overall, good value for money and the outside make of it is really nice, its metal exterior which i love the feel of it. back lit keyboard which is really cool with brightness control. i recomend it if you want a small laptop that you can take anywhere and enjoy full gaming experience!!

A bit of a beast
I’d been looking to replace my old gaming desktop but was struggling to justify the cost of a premade or the cost of building my own. Then I realised I could buy this using Amazon’s multi-payment system and the choice was very simple after that.So far I’ve used it to play Baldur’s Gate 3, RDR2, and Remnant 2 at 4k. I get solid 60fps in all of them and could go higher but I always limit games to 60fps in the nVidia control panel anyway. At high load the fans aren’t as noisy as some reviews have made out but this is my first gaming laptop so I don’t really have much to compare it against. I do have the laptop angled up from the back to increase airflow so maybe that is the difference. It’s also my first computer where I’ve got a mix of AMD (cpu/gpu) and nVidia hardware but it’s been less of an issue than I thought it might be.It came with Win11 Home which came with a bit of bloatware from Microsoft. I’d read a lot of complaints about the ASUS Armour Crate software but I’ve found it to be really easy to use. I’ve got it set to trigger certain profiles when a game launches or when I’m encoding etc and that’s been good.I can’t speak much about battery life because, as I use it for gaming/video encoding, I’ve always got it plugged it for max performance.Overall extremely satisfied with the purchase and performance. My only criticisms would be:1. 16GB RAM seems a bit stingy. I upgraded to 32gb immediately.2. Installing the RAM (and an extra nvme drive) was a bit of a faff – there were a lot of screws to deal with and the instructions in the manual were slightly unclear. Thank god for youtubers!I won’t knock the score down for those though because 16GB might be enough for some.

A refurbish computer that doesn’t work but like a nexw one !!
Wanted to buy a computer, but the deliver was done in an old box, not ASUS packaging, with 2 impacts on the back of the screen. The lights of keyboard are not working and the seller pick up 8£ for him !!! Scandalous. How can Amazon accept not to get money back completly, after the seller sells a refurbished computer for a new one. Nowhere was written that it was not new.

Could be better
Had this delivered to me, and had read reviews based on performance and the battery life itself. The battery life is really poor, although its a gaming laptop and expected to be hooked up to an AC most of the time, i had bought this to use for general use and occasional gaming, given this is my first gaming laptop, I should have put more research. The screen is pretty decent, although feels like the contrast isnt the greatest and lacks some colour density, and the choice between 60hz or 144hz is really nice to have to have a smoother experience.Update: Given it’s my first gaming laptop, I kinda ignored and never thought logically that if you want a proper gaming experience, have it hooked to an outlet, as I expected it to just be powerful on battery, whoops! This will definitely bring my rating up

Amazing gaming laptop
Amazing gaming laptop, it runs almost every game on ultra 60+ fps in 4k and every game that I tried at 90+ fps on full hd and some in 2K as well, I’m aware that’s not a graphics card made for 4K and is actually made for the 2k, but yet, pretty impressed with performance. In relation to noise it can be very noisy on turbo mode, but to be fair, I can’t really hear it when I’m using my headset, so I don’t mind, it runs very silent in the standard mode. I can’t really say much about battery life, as I always have it plugged in for max performance, and when I’m out of home, I don’t really play unless I have a power plug close to me, but it does last roughly 4 to 5 hours with everything optimized to extend battery life, I highly recommend adding an extra ssd, cause 512GB is to low nowdays. In general, go for it, you won’t regret it!

Incorrect Product Details. High Temps During Gaming.
Hi there!First off I will start with some positives:1. The build quality is fantastic, fairly slim considering what power is under the hood and Asus don’t skip on the meaningful details. Decent amount of ports and a very well built keyboard.2. The user features such as Armory Crate and the BIOS are really well thought out pieces of software which gives the user a lot of customization whether for gaming or general use.‐———————————————————-Now for the negatives:1. Listed as having DDR5 Ram on the product page, this is NOT the case. This laptop contains DDR4 3200MHZ (I understand this is an Amazon listing issue but it’s still a bit annoying to find out during setup.)2. The thermals can get very high in temps and for me personally caused issues during gaming sessions. I ran several games once I had setup the machine fully. Counter-Strike 2 actually ran well considering the engine recently got updated however this game isn’t as demanding as Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2. I ran the settings on a mix of high with a couple of extreme settings but kept the VRAM usage below the threshold. During a 30 minute game the temps reached 90-95c which in my opinion caused issues because I experienced random stutters and frame drops (10-20fps at a time). I tried lowering settings further and made sure my fan profiles were running high and locked the FPS to 80, same issues. I personally believe being forced to consider buying a cooling pad to keep a laptop stable is not something a customer should have to do.Lastly the screen and speakers were nothing to be amazed by, the peak brightness was ample but not overly bright and the speakers are not worth it for gaming in my opinion.‐———————————————————-All in all I might of received a faulty unit, but I feel like Asus needs to improve factors of this laptops design to improve the users experience.I hope other users get a positive result from this laptop, however I did not. Amazon refunded the machine.
