Battery life
Battery doesn’t last very long when you play games. I would say its no more than 5-6 hours. When you just watch streams it last much longer. Screen quality is way improved,works very smoothly,gives good use experience.

My son wanted a tablet for a long time. For an iPhone user , I was looking for ipad. But the price was so high and too much for a 6 year old to play with.I saw the reviews on Amazon fire tablet and did my research and decided to get it.Very good delivery quick and safe. Easy to set up took 15 mins to set perfectly. My son is over the moon.Highly recommended!

Delayed despatch
Bought on black Friday, delivery was 5-10 days. On the 10th day I received an email to say delivery had been delayed until the 21st!! Delivery was sooner than the second delivery date but still caused a panic (birthday was 15th). Tablet is nice, thinner than the one we previously had and a little more grown up.

Fantastic tablet

Tablet
I was really unsure what tablet to get my 6 years old but after seeing the recommendations for this I had to get it and I’m not disappointed.It’s all set up with a case on it ready for Christmas. The screen is a good size, good quality and its sensitivity is spot on. The apps are easy to download and can connect it to my Amazon account. The battery is lasting well and I’m able to put on restrictions.Really impressed and I’m sure my boy is going to be over the moon come Christmas Day.

A replacement

when on offer this is hard to beat on price and quality
got this during the black friday sale and the price was very good for what you get. the kids love it and very useful to have games that can be downloaded and don’t require an internet connection so works well in a car. probably impossible to find a cheaper and better option for kids, very safe for them to use and doesn’t break when dropped. screen is clear and responsive, the processor speed is great and the free games keep the kids entertained

Wow what a difference
These are a MUST buy!! I have never previously liked kindles, the only reason I bought them were for younger children as I liked the parental controls and the “replacement” option but I always felt they were an inferior product when you looked at their competitors, it felt like Amazon had dropped the ball when it came to speed, power, efficiency and they were over rated, I hated using them even to set them up or fix any issues for my children. I expected to dislike these just the same. Not anymore!! Amazon have now absolutely nailed this product. The tablet is sleek, fast, powerful. It charges quickly has a good battery life and can handle the much larger requirements many apps now have all while still allowing a parent some of the best parental controls there are!! Amazon well done! I am a convert!!

Nice little tablet
I did my research before buying this as a Christmas gift for my 6 yr old granddaughter, and well she loves it, if she had her way she would be on it 24/7 thankfully she’s not, we had a discussion of how it was to be used and as I gifted it to her she treats it with alot of respect and she also knows that I will hide the charging cable if needed to. It’s a great tablet especially for the price, I even updated my previous Amazon tablet with the adult version.

Tablet is great, however,…
The tablet itself is great, easy to setup, no issues. The only issue I ran into was when attempting to add an SD card to expand the memory. I tried two different makes of card, both with a 128 GB capacity, on the advice that I’d used the wrong type of card by Amazon technical help. The issue being that when the card was inserted it read as “Corrupted”, therefore I assumed it just needed formatting. However, although the tablet has an SD “Setup” it still would not recognise the card. After a bit of research I concluded that the SD card needed to be in FAT32 format to be compatible, both of them shipped with exFAT as their default. So I had to download a free programme called Disk Genius onto a PC and format the cards to FAT32 using that method. Bit more of a task than I anticipated and in the end the SD cards which I was told weren’t compatible worked fine; bottom line is the format of the SD card not the card.How bizarre, kids opened their tablets and once I turned them on I was presented with the prompt to use the SD card for Internal or Portable storage, also with the option to format it. This is exactly the screen I was unable to access before, so it would appear all is well, definitely some issues regarding the SD card initially though.

Fantastic!
These tablets sure are a step up from the Fire 6/7. The screen size and quality is brilliant! My children are in love with theirs and as a parent, I’m thoroughly impressed with the amount of safety features that you can put in place. I have deactivated the ability to access Google and YouTube, put time restrictions in place and am able to view what they’re doing on their tablets via my phone. This comes in very handy when they spend time away from home. The integrated stand is so handy too. I highly recommend this tablet to any parent.

Bought as a Christmas present for my daughter and she loves it. It was so easy to set up as she had a previous gen version I think it was the fire 8. Soon as it was charged and turned on it was ready to go even the wi fi was already connected. Just make sure you allow the option for your amazon profile to be put on when you order and there is no messing when you receive and get it booted up.

Amazon Replacement
I ordered two tablets in 2021 in the Black Friday deals for my older two. One of the two stopped downloading apps and overall just became very slow to do anything. I didn’t really think it was a software issue or anything warranting a replacement but when discussing with Amazon Customer Services they recommended getting a replacement after a hard reset didn’t work. It was just inside my two year warranty so very pleased that was honoured and actually suggested to me by Amazon. New tablet arrived quickly and is working brilliantly!

New fire pro 10 kids
Lesson learnt so far- get parental controls set up before you give the tablet. Also set up an age limit prior so apps are filtered as the default setting was for 13+. Issues with one click buying turned off, purchases are still able to bought. Any apps inadvertently bought cannot be refunded.

Shocking parental controls . Beyond belief
So I brought these tablets for 5 and 6 year olds because it seemed the safest option available with the parental controls. How wrong I was!So I set up the devices with parental controls enabled which was quite a straight forward process I thought. I set it so that if the kids installed games, apps etc, it would notify me for approval. It did this initially for some apps but then it just started installing them without needing approval so my kids were able to play all sorts of rubbish that I didn’t want them playing. Contacting support was not helpful at all. They did some changes that they said would solve the issue but it didn’t.On Christmas Day my children were playing with their new devices and my daughter found all these apps with stick thin faces which is absolutely not something I want her looking at and influencing her. I contact support again to say that they are still able to download stuff despite me selecting the option to request approval for downloads. I was told to disable the store so that they don’t have access to it as the solution. Poor solution because how many other children are out there where parents are watching so closely on what they are able to do. Also there are so many apps and games that they have access to even with the store turned off which is part of the kids + package.Also my son was listening to something in audible which then said you needed to download an app before it could play. Without having to accept anything it started to download this app which was filled with just mindless, stupid videos.I wanted to be able to remove all the apps and choose the ones that I wanted them to see so I asked support how I could do this. They told me that these apps were part of the kids + package. I then asked what if I cancel the kids + content to which I was told that it would remove the content but also all restrictions meaning that they could access anything like with no protection!After more pushing I was then told that I can remove and approve apps but that it was a ‘tedious’ process because you have to remove them 1 by 1 and there are hundreds and hundreds of apps and games. Some apps can’t be removed as well because they are added as part of the age allowed restrictions and you can’t override this!Crazy that you cannot control exactly what your children have access to as some of the things Amazon have approved as part of their ‘curated’ content is shocking in my opinion.Amazon have made it as difficult as possible for parents to control what their children have access to. You are also tied into the kids + subscription if you want to use the parental controls. Amazon have massively gone down in my estimations as it seems they just want to get kids hooked on technology and they don’t take their responsibility to protect children seriously.I spent over 5 hours on Christmas Day and Boxing Day online with Amazon support trying to resolve the issues but they just weren’t getting the issues and the support person kept changing mid conversation so I had to keep repeating everything. The whole thing has left me infuriated.After many hours, I now have the devices in a place where I am semi happy for my children to be using them but it has taken many hours. However issues remain. I want to be able to add web videos manually however I keep getting errors. I have an IT Support background so am not IT incompetent.It seems as though Amazon are trying to increase children’s addiction to devices by taking control of what children see away from parents.It is seriously disappointing that a company such as Amazon are not being more responsible when this is a serious problem that the effects can be seen in society.If you care what your children are able to view and do on their devices then this isn’t for you.

Great product so far, shame I can’t transfer the Kids+ subscription
I bought this as a gift for my 6 year old and his grandma. Unfortunately, as I bought it, the Kids+ subscription is now tied to my account which is not something I had realised would happen and I would have loved to have been able to transfer it to my mother. As such, I’ve had to set her up on it as an 18 year old child when my lovely mother is really in her 60s haha. She picked the unicorn with a heart tattoo from the predetermined set of profile pictures so she is happy enough…but ideally she would have been the one able to control everything. When the subscription is up, we will swap the ownership over.In the past, the 6 year old has shown the potential to get addicted to game apps and can be a tiny bit aggressive when he’s told to stop playing them. This problem has been easily solved by setting the new tablet up before hand to block all game apps and the instructions are very easy to follow. The range of books and audiobooks is delightful and he has gone to bed every night happy to have read something new.

Great little device
The set up was straight forward, based on previous profiles, the device is so much lighter than the previous version, bought as a birthday present for our 8 year old and he loves it. I need to look into the SD card we previously used as it won’t let me setup but I think that’s user error rather than fault, overall really pleased, you get the amazon features the kids love with a stylish young kids feel

Bought as my daughter’s 2019 fire 10 was struggling to load some of her games, this thing loads them with ease. Interface is slightly changed , with the welcome ability to close background apps.
